Chapter 190: Autumn Water is Only Happy in My Hands
Chapter 190: Autumn Water is Only Happy in My Hands
Can stone truly become a blade?
Kuro sheathed his Haki-infused stone blade mid-air, assuming an Iaijutsu stance. Suddenly, a suffocating pressure erupted from his form, radiating outward like a stormfront toward the gathered captains.
Killing Intent!
A dense, bloodthirsty aura exploded across the square, drawing the attention of nearly everyone present.
"This is even more intense than back at Mariejois", someone muttered.
Donquixote Doflamingo’s smirk faltered as he stared up at Kuro. His expression darkened, the weight of that killing intent pressing against him.
Boa Hancock gawked at Kuro, momentarily forgetting all about Luffy.
Could that ragged man truly harbor such monstrous Killing Intent?
Nearby, Kuzan scratched his head. "Has his Killing Intent always been this intense?"
Lucius Kro chuckled, surprised. "Oh? Kuro’s angry? How rare."
Boom!
Akainu and Whitebeard clashed again, their shockwave reverberating through the battlefield. Akainu grinned savagely. "The Navy’s strength surpasses any pirate’s!"
Whitebeard’s gaze hardened as he swung his massive blade. "My sons aren’t weaklings!"
The two titans resumed their duel. Meanwhile, Kuro’s form blurred as he drew his blade.
"Lion: Thousand Cutting Valleys!"
Golden slashes rained from the sky, an avalanche of destruction barreling toward the captains.
"Scatter!"
Jozu bellowed a warning, shoving others aside. His body crystallized into diamond, shielding the frontlines as the slashes struck.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
As the world’s strongest defensive warrior, Jozu dwarfed even Sengoku’s reputation—this was strength, not mere hype.
The physical slashes shattered harmlessly against his diamond form, leaving only dents in the ground. Jozu staggered back, smoke and dust swirling around him. He smirked defiantly. "Weaker than I expected."
Stone blades, even Haki-imbued, inherently lacked power. Without Haki, the blade itself would disintegrate upon swinging.
"Is that so?" Kuro’s voice was calm. He pointed past Jozu. "But you missed something."
Squelch!
Blades of earth erupted behind Jozu, piercing several captains.
"What—"
Before Jozu could react, the ground beneath him collapsed. A gaping crater swallowed him whole, burying him in rubble.
"Jozu!"
Izou lunged forward, but a shadow flickered behind him.
Kuro’s figure rippled like water.
A black blade flashed.
Clang!
Izou barely blocked with Autumn Water. Kuro’s stone blade, though reinforced with Haki, shattered against Autumn Water’s superior metal. The impact numbed Izou’s arm.
Exploiting that instant, Kuro twisted his blade. Autumn Water wrenched from Izou’s grip and reversed, slashing downward.
Schlick!
Izou recoiled, blood streaming from his chest. Autumn Water hovered, then flipped—hilt down—into Kuro’s waiting hand.
"You know she doesn’t want to return to Wano with you", Kuro sneered, channeling Haki into the blade until it pulsed with crimson energy. "Feel this Haki—so rich, so full. She’s molded to my will now. Only in my hands can she be happy!"
Izou’s veins bulged with fury. "You bastard!!!"
Blade raised, he charged recklessly.
Kuro sighed, raising a finger. "Losing control in battle is fatal."
Izou barely turned before a spike of earth pierced his wounded flank—a repeat of the blow from the white-haired woman earlier.
"Izou!"
"Izou, fall back!"
The remaining fighters rushed toward him.
"Fools", Kuro spat. His blade slid home with a contemptuous flourish. Assuming Iaijutsu stance, he declared, "Witness the complete Thousand Cutting Valleys."
His scabbard radiated Haki like a hurricane trapped in wood.
"Lion!"
A hundred slashes materialized in an instant—golden arcs of Haki, too numerous to count, too fast to evade.
Without Jozu’s defense, the captains crumpled.
Crash! Crash! Crash!!!
The battlefield erupted in dust and debris. When the smoke cleared, every captain—including Izou—lay bloodied and unconscious, eyes rolled back.
"Not bad", Kuro mused, approaching a fallen captain. He raised his blade for the killing strike.
Boom!
The ground erupted. Jozu, buried moments ago, rocketed toward Kuro, fury twisting his diamond features.
Kuro sidestepped effortlessly. As Jozu lunged past, Kuro pivoted—two fingers grazing Autumn Water’s blade. A golden spark of lightning danced across its edge before Kuro roared, "Unenlightened Divine Wind Murderous Sword: Azure Dragon (Jiaolong)!"
He ducked Jozu’s fist, slashing upward.
Crack!
Jozu staggered back, clutching his chest. A jagged fissure split his diamond armor—an imperfection, a wound oozing blood.
"That’s all?" Jozu snarled, charging forward.
Kuro sheathed Autumn Water without glancing at him. His eyes fixed on the crater he’d blasted earlier.
Jozu’s fists had dropped two short blades when he fell—Sakujū and Kigō.
Kuro flicked his wrist. The blades flew from the rubble, returning to his waist.
Jozu’s fist loomed over him—mere inches from impact.
Kuro grinned. "Hear the whisper of the divine wind."
Squelch!
Jozu froze mid-strike. Blood gushed from his diamond body, spreading like crimson vines. The wound on his chest erupted, spraying blood like a crimson rain.
