Chapter 188: The Fall of Glacier (Part 5)
The giant continued charging forward, even as its arm snapped off mid-motion. With its remaining hand, it tore apart an ice spike and wielded it as a weapon, relentless and unyielding, charging toward the Red Dragon without pause.
Kai Xiusu merely fluttered his wings, hovering in place, unmoved.
"What a peculiar creature..."
"I wonder how long it can keep this up?"
He had no intention of fleeing the storm’s heart. For one, the Revenge Storm had long slipped beyond his control—entering it himself would be fatal. For another, he had absolute faith in the power of his own creation. He didn’t believe this giant could survive long enough to stand before him.
The Revenge Storm had raged for over a dozen cycles now, its howling winds and bone-chilling rain lashing down across the entire region beneath the Thundercloud. The giant’s form had shrunk dramatically—now barely a fraction of its original size, stripped down like layers of skin peeled away, revealing the fragile, inner structure beneath. Its movements grew sluggish, laboring through the tempest, yet it pressed on, still charging toward Kai Xiusu with unwavering resolve.
"Enemy of Youshuang!"
"I will never... let you... go..."
The voice was like a boat tossed in a storm—faint, trembling, yet stubbornly holding on. Truly, it was the last echo of the Frost Giant Sanctum Guard’s dying will.
But under the influence of Arcane Surge, the Revenge Storm only intensified. Jagged streaks of white, blue, and purple lightning tore open the dark sky, unleashing their raw might upon the frozen plain. Frenzied thunderbolts reduced everything in their path to rubble, obliterating all in their wake.
Dark clouds churned, black mists writhed, and through the gloom, an unnatural radiance pierced through—the blinding light of the most terrifying thunderbolts.
Yet the giant remained oblivious. Still hundreds of meters away, it raised its jagged ice spike and charged forward.
"Boom!"
The thunder roared again—deafening, apocalyptic.
Dozens of searing lightning bolts descended in unison, forming a colossal claw in the sky, tearing open the storm-laden heavens. The combined fury of their strength converged into a single, devastating strike—crashing down upon the unsuspecting Ice Crystal Giant.
"No—!"
Blinding lightning engulfed the massive form, illuminating the entire Wahala Glacier like midday. Smoke billowed in thick, rolling plumes.
Across the vast expanse of the glacier, every living creature could hear a mournful wail, followed by the sharp, crackling roar of lightning tearing through flesh and ice.
When the blinding flash faded and the smoke cleared, the Ice Crystal Giant lay shattered—reduced to near the end of its strange existence.
Its head was only half intact, grotesque and broken. Its massive left arm had shattered, collapsing onto the ice. The giant’s lower torso had been split in half, and its right leg had vanished entirely below the hip. The left leg’s lower half was split cleanly in two, leaving only the upper thigh still functional.
Every inch of its body was cracked—cracks spreading like spiderwebs across its form, threatening to collapse at any moment. It was a living monument to destruction, teetering on the edge of total disintegration.
Yet, even as it lay broken, the ruined mouth still twitched.
"Youshuang… enemy…"
The formless giant dragged itself forward using its last remaining left thigh, scraping it across the ice. Its torso twisted and writhed, moving in a grotesque, insect-like crawl—slow, agonizing, but undeniable. It inched toward the Red Dragon.
The Red Dragon stood still, silently watching it come.
Each meter it crawled left behind a trail of shattered ice fragments, its body grinding to dust with every movement.
Finally, its wounded shoulder brushed against the tip of the Red Dragon’s claw. With immense effort, it lifted its head. The half-melted mouth trembled.
"I’ve got you…"
"Enemy of Youshuang…"
The final word—enemy—never came.
A series of sharp, brittle cracks echoed across the glacier.
The Ice Crystal Giant could no longer bear the weight of its own fractures. It shattered completely. The colossal, nearly twenty-meter-long body collapsed into a pile of jagged ice—now a small, frozen mountain, standing silently upon the frozen expanse of Wahala Glacier.
Kai Xiusu casually picked up a shard of ice crystal, cradling it in his claw. He felt the cold—a sensation that instinctively revolted him.
"A creature driven purely by hatred… no intelligence at all. And yet, it reached Legendary Life Level."
"How peculiar. I’ll have Lanpu study this later.
Perhaps it could become a weapon in my hands."
He surveyed the battlefield, quietly admiring the devastation he had wrought.
Though the Ice Crystal Giant was dead, the Revenge Storm showed no sign of stopping. Fueled by Arcane Surge, it continued to expand, devouring the land, until nature’s own Edict would eventually restore balance—quelling this world-ending instability.
Endless gales and freezing rain lashed down from the thunderclouds. Lightning struck again and again, slicing through ice mountains like knives through paper. Frost Giant fortresses—ancient, snow-encrusted strongholds—were torn apart, collapsing into ruin. Their sacred sites, guarded for centuries, were buried under avalanches of shattered ice.
The ancient scrolls and records of past giants sank into the depths, frozen solid beneath hundreds of meters of unyielding ice.
The Frost Giants’ hunting grounds were eroded by corrosive rain, transformed beyond recognition. Their crude horns, bone spears, and hide shields were reduced to dust—feeding the soil beneath.
Even the ice valleys where the Frost Giants had lived were swallowed by collapsing glaciers. Their every trace—cut hides, gnawed bones, children’s ice sculptures—was sealed beneath eternal frost, lost to time, never to be found.
A tribe that had clung to existence since the ancient wars, enduring for nearly ten thousand years, finally met its end—annihilated by a single Red Dragon.
The Kobar Youshuang clan, once risen by slaying a Red Dragon, now perished for provoking one. A cruel joke played by Fate across the span of millennia.
"Frost Disaster... ended."
"Because I brought the disaster to 'Frost Disaster'."
Kai Xiusu looked around at the wreckage, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. It was a strange thought—almost a paradox.
He lifted his head slightly. His Character Sheet refreshed with new information.
