Dashi shrugged and discarded his hand into the graveyard, letting out a slight humph. "So, your starting hand wasn't that great? Well, that happens sometimes. But if your skills aren't up to par, then changing your hand won't solve your problems."
As he finished speaking, he drew five new cards.
"You don't have to worry about that," You Xuan said with a smile as he proceeded to draw his own set of five cards.
He quickly scanned his new hand and pulled out a card. "I activate the spell card, 'Trick Demon Twins.' I pay 1000 Life Points to randomly discard one card from your hand, and then you select another card to discard."

Hmm, discarding two cards?
Dashi furrowed his brows. "Hmph, so you lack the confidence to beat me at drawing power, and instead choose to disrupt my hand?"
"Discard the third card from the left," You Xuan said nonchalantly.
Dashi complied, drawing and discarding the chosen card. The Trick Demon Twins vanished along with the two discarded cards.
"I'll set a monster in Attack Position and set a card in my Spell & Trap Zone. That's the end of my turn," You Xuan concluded.
The onlookers began speculating about You Xuan's tactics based on his opening move.
"It's a hand disruption deck, I think," Hayato commented. "I believe I've seen You Xuan use a similar strategy before."
"It's a deck that aims to cripple your opponent before they can establish their strategy," Asuka nodded in agreement. "If Dashi Shan has indeed cultivated a powerful drawing ability as he claims, then this could be an effective tactic for this duel."
Jaden (Judai) muttered to himself, "Darn it, if only I had spoken up earlier, I might have been the one dueling instead."
Sho Marufuji added, "Big brother is still hung up on that, huh?"

Despair from the Dark was an Undead-Type monster with a hellish design. It had made an appearance in GX in Dr. Crowler's possession and, as an ancient card, even held some significance in the sixth installment, Vrains.
"Despair from the Dark can be Special Summoned from the graveyard if it was sent there by an opponent's effect from either the hand or the deck!" Dashi Shan explained. "So, I Special Summon 'Despair from the Dark'! Come forth!"
Hellish flames erupted, giving birth to a phantasmal demon. It had purple-black claws, a sinister grin, and abstract horns on its head.

"He drew 'Despair from the Dark'!" Sho exclaimed in surprise.
Asuka's face mirrored her disbelief. "Is it just a coincidence that he drew that card when it was sent to the graveyard by the effect of Drop Off?"
He continued, "I activate the spell card, 'Magical Book in the Pot,' which allows both players to draw three cards from their decks."
"Then I normal summon 'Hell Dragon'!"
Hell Dragon: ATK 2000
"Attack the monster my Hell Dragon is covering!" Dashi commanded.
A large mouse flipped over to reveal itself, blocking the attack.
Giant Rat: DEF 1450
The Giant Rat was crushed and destroyed, and You Xuan searched his deck for a new card.
"When Giant Rat is destroyed in battle and sent to the graveyard, I can special summon an Earth-Attribute monster with an ATK of 1500 or less from my deck in an Attack Position," You Xuan explained. "I special summon 'Pyramid Turtle'."

"Then, 'Despair from the Dark,' attack the Pyramid Turtle!" Dashi ordered. "Break through this wall immediately!"
The demon's claws descended, and the turtle with the pyramid on its back was torn apart, exploding into pieces.

"Now, the effect of 'Pyramid Turtle' activates. I can special summon an Undead-Type monster with a DEF of 2000 or less from my deck," You Xuan said as he placed a monster from his deck onto the field. "I special summon 'Dragon Bone Ghost'!"
A sinister aura filled the air as a massive creature made of countless interlocking skeletons appeared. Each bone was eerily distinct, forming a twisted, towering frame. Its eyes burned like unholy ghost fires, and its sharp fangs were framed by a sinister, twisted smile.
Dragon Bone Ghost: ATK 2400
Marufuji shuddered as the creature was summoned, feeling as if the temperature had dropped several degrees. "Why do You Xuan's monsters always give off such an unsettling feeling?" he muttered under his breath.
"I see," Dashi said, his chest puffed out with pride. "By using Double Legacy as a springboard, you were able to summon such a powerful high-level monster in one go. Impressive tactics. But it's a pity that it's no match for my 'Despair from the Dark.'"
Dashi held his head high, exuding confidence. "In the end, tactics and builds have their limits. The true essence of dueling lies in the power of drawing!"
He drew two more cards and added, "I'll set two cards in my back row and end my turn."
Dashi then pointed to the 'Hell Dragon' on his field. "At the end of the turn it attacks, Hell Dragon destroys itself."
The 'Hell Dragon,' having attacked, bore the brunt of its four-star, two-thousand-attack drawback, exploding with a bang and disappearing in a fiery display.
"My turn, draw," You Xuan said, drawing a card and then playing one from his hand. "I summon 'Killer Tomato.'"
Killer Tomato: ATK 1400
"In an attack position?" Dashi frowned. "Such a weak monster..."
"Indeed, I've witnessed your drawing power firsthand. 'Despair from the Dark' is truly remarkable, appearing so suddenly with its overwhelming strength. It's fantastic," You Xuan admitted. "To be honest, I don't have a monster in my hand that can surpass it."
The corners of Dashi's mouth turned up as he listened, his pride swelling.
But his smile faded as You Xuan continued, "Since I can't beat it, I'll have to requisition it temporarily. I activate the spell card, 'Forced Transfer,' which allows each player to take control of one monster their opponent controls and switch control of them."
