Chapter 1801: A War with No Victors (Part 251)
Chapter 1801: A War with No Victors (Part 251)
"Even seeing someone like you, eager for their demise, brings me a sense of peace!"
Nelson, who had just parted ways with Will, didn't go far. Instead, he headed to an old haunt to meet the "appointed one."
Nelson was well aware that he couldn't accomplish tonight's grand revenge alone; he needed the other's help.
"If I were alone and unencumbered, I wouldn't bother with those scumbags. But now that I have a family and a daughter, I must consider their future!"
To Nelson's surprise, the person he met was another man who looked exactly like him.
Most people would have panicked and screamed at such a sight, but neither of them seemed too startled, clearly aware of each other's identity.
"That sounds like something you'd say."
Nelson didn't pay much attention to Albert's half-hearted response.
"Here, this should last about four hours, but I think it'll be enough!"
Albert reached into his pocket and tossed a small bottle of golden potion to Nelson. He then took out a small vial of Fuling Elixir and drank it down.
Perhaps Albert didn't need this four hours of "luck," but being cautious, he didn't want to waste even a bit of the elixir.
"Four hours is enough!"
Nelson took the Fuling Elixir, tore open the wax seal with his teeth, and drank the potion. He then took out a parchment from his pocket and handed it to Albert.
"This is tonight's revenge list, given by Kingsley. I made some adjustments myself!"
"It's much shorter than I expected!"
Albert glanced at the concise map and the names marked on it.
"After all, I'm alone, and there's only so much I can handle!"
Nelson narrowed his eyes at the 'himself' across from him, as if expecting to hear, "But there's also me!"
"Kingsley's family is on the list, it seems you dislike him?"
Albert returned the list and looked up at the expressionless Nelson, "Is this your way of holding a grudge?"
"Not exactly. It's mainly because Kingsley wants to use me to achieve his goals. A few days ago, he even set someone up to make a fool of me, so I plan to turn the tables and give him a surprise."
Nelson didn't hide his disdain for Kingsley. He despised his backstabbing behavior, his manipulation, and especially being treated like a fool.
"Not surprising!"
Albert's response caught Nelson off guard.
"I thought you..."
"I hate politicians. If Kingsley wasn't one, I might have stopped you!" He spoke half-truthfully, believing that if the prophecy succeeded, it would be Kingsley's own doing. He had no intention of getting involved.
"Actually, I hate them too!"
Nelson waved goodbye to Albert with a smile.
They had to split up and act separately. Before anyone could react, they aimed to eliminate as many remaining Death Eaters on the list as possible, preventing further complications.
With the help of the Fuling Elixir, Nelson found that casting the Fiery Inferno Curse had become much smoother. He effortlessly completed the first round of his revenge.
A grand ancient estate of a pure-blood family was just swallowed by the ferocious flames.
And just like that, it was done. No need for murder; a simple fire did the trick.
The surprise attack, coupled with the use of the RagingFire—an incredibly dangerous Dark Magic—meant that only those who could Apparate at the first sign of danger had a chance to escape. The rest were doomed.
Unfortunately for them, there was no escape.
"Lucky for me, but a pity for this estate," Nelson said as he leisurely took out his notebook and crossed off a name, disappearing into the night after the RagingFire had completely engulfed the estate.
Albert, on the other hand, was not as ruthless as Nelson. He never took lives with the Avalon Doom Curse; he didn't need to. A simple Stunning Spell to knock them out, followed by a RagingFire in the room, was enough to send them peacefully to the afterlife.
The price they paid for this method was that Albert would accept their inheritance before burning down the house with the RagingFire, ensuring that valuable items didn't turn to ashes.
To be honest, it didn't take much time, maybe a little slower than Nelson, but at least it prevented waste! The dead didn't need it, but the living certainly did.
"The saying 'A horse never gets fat on overnight grass' holds true!"
For some reason, these people didn't store their valuables in Gringotts vaults but hid them in secret treasure chambers within their estates. As a result, Albert's Invisible Stretch Bag, prepared in advance, was almost filled to the brim, making it understandable why Kingsley wanted to kill them and reclaim the wealth that had been divided among them.
Unfortunately for Kingsley, he wouldn't get the chance.
Whatever went into Albert's pockets stayed there; it was his "overtime pay" for the night.
The bounty they reaped as they moved from one estate to another was truly shocking.
Albert couldn't help but feel that Nelson's revenge list was too conservative compared to the one he had provided, which even included pure-blood families secretly supporting Voldemort.
As for the potential decline of the British Magical World after the purge, it was none of Albert's concern.
Expecting Albert to have Dumbledore's boundless love for all was simply unrealistic.
Moreover, such sentiments were not popular in Europe.
Most Death Eaters shared this mindset, which explained their indiscriminate killings.
Voldemort was even more laughable; he never showed mercy when it came to killing pure-bloods.
Not long after Nelson began his mission, the fires caused by the RagingFire caught the attention of the Magical World's employees.
The Ministry's Fire Brigade, well-prepared for such emergencies, arrived promptly. However, they faced an almost uncontrollable RagingFire, and despite their drills, it took all their might to extinguish it completely.
But their relief was short-lived.
The Fire Brigade soon realized that fires were raging across Britain, and to make matters worse, the damn fool had used the RagingFire indiscriminately, leaving it to spread uncontrollably. The Fire Brigade was pushed to the brink, nearly giving up and letting the fires burn.
