Chapter 18: Jerry's Heroic Battle Armor
Chapter 18: Jerry’s Heroic Battle Armor
"Jerry, Jerry!"
At that moment, a familiar voice called out from ahead. Jerry looked up to see Elsa holding her magic bubble gun, hopping out of a police car and running toward him, shouting excitedly.
"Alright, I'll leave this kid with you. I'm off!"
Tony saw that the police were already approaching, so he waved a quick goodbye and activated his armor, taking off into the sky.
He didn't want to waste his precious time chatting with the police.
This trip had also given him new inspiration, and he needed to get back and start testing it out.
"Thank you! And don't forget the model you promised!"
Jerry waved to Iron Man, who was flying away, expressing his gratitude and reminding him of the model he had promised.
"Jarvis, do I really have such a bad reputation with the kids?"
Tony was a bit hurt by Jerry's lack of trust, which was evident in his repeated reminders.
"Sir, you just sometimes have a poor memory for these things!"
Jarvis responded tactfully.
"Is that so? Well, then, have the lab's mechanical arms create a scaled-down model of the battle armor based on that boy's height, and have Miss Potts send it to him first thing tomorrow morning!"
"Of course, sir!"
Watching Tony Stark fly off until he disappeared, Jerry finally relaxed.
"Jerry, Jerry, did you send those demons back to hell?"
Elsa ran up to Jerry, her face beaming with excitement.
"Of course. As the Demonic Overlord, I'm an expert at sending them to hell!"
Jerry chuckled and patted Elsa on the head.
"Elsa, why are you here alone? Where's Dad?"
"Sheriff just got the message and thought you were still at the warehouse, so he led the team there himself!"
Miss Berry, who had just released Jerry, explained.
It seemed that Iron Man had already sent the location of the warehouse to the police while saving him.
But it didn't matter. During the fight, Jerry had been particularly careful to leave no traces of his killing the criminals.
Three of the criminals had died from the dagger, which he had already transformed back into a bench leg. The last one had been crushed between his legs, leaving no fingerprints.
He had also been careful not to get any blood on himself during the fight.
Even if there were fingerprints, it wouldn't be unusual, given that he had been taken from the school bus to the warehouse by four criminals, and there would have been some physical contact along the way.
Most importantly, no one would suspect an eleven-year-old boy with excellent grades and behavior of being able to kill four heavily armed and dangerous criminals while locked in a room, without a single injury.
"Miss Berry, I'm a bit tired. Let's go back to the car and rest for a while."
The aftereffects of activating his superhuman state hadn't completely worn off. Instead of standing here, he might as well find a place to rest for a bit.
"Sure, I'll take you to your dad's car to rest."
Miss Berry nodded and led the bouncing Elsa and Jerry to the car.
As for the officers who had gathered around, Jerry knew most of them. They were mostly his father's colleagues, and a round of greetings and praise followed.
His actions on the school bus had already spread among the officers, and now everyone who saw Jerry would comment on how a tiger father doesn't have a dog for a son.
Some of the older officers, especially those with children, would look at Jerry and think of their own mischievous kids, sighing in comparison.
Among children his age, Jerry is undoubtedly the top in all of Queens.
It was midnight, twelve o'clock, in a residential building in Queens.
Jerry turned off the ringing alarm and slowly sat up in bed.
About an hour after returning to the school bus, his father in this world, Has, heard that Jerry had been brought back by Iron Man and hurriedly returned.
The four robbers were killed, and most of the bank's cash was recovered, so the subsequent matters were not as pressing.
So, Sheriff Has took Jerry and Elsa, and invited Miss Berry to a high-end restaurant in Queens for a luxurious dinner, celebrating that Jerry had not been injured.
During the dinner, Jerry subtly learned from Has that the police did not suspect him. They assumed it was some unnamed hero with exceptional skills who had acted bravely and killed the four robbers before leaving the scene without leaving a trace.
Of course, such private actions are not encouraged by the police. Given how cleanly all the traces were handled, the police now believe that this unnamed hero might not be as simple as they initially thought.
After getting dressed and putting on a baseball cap, Jerry carefully opened the door, then crossed the living room, holding his wand, and quickly left the house, heading for the building's elevator.
Starting today, he decided to set aside two to three hours each night to earn Little Red Stars.
Little Red Stars are his most important resource now. They are needed to enter the Mini World, to accelerate his magic learning, and to activate his superhuman state.
The source of Little Red Stars is doing good deeds, especially stopping crimes. The bigger the crime, the more Little Red Stars he can earn, as he had already proven during the day.
Pressing his baseball cap down, Jerry carefully avoided the building's cameras and security, making his way to the ground floor.
This isn't the late 20th century world of Harry Potter. In the Marvel universe, where technology is highly advanced, surveillance equipment is ubiquitous on the streets.
If he didn't want to be discovered by the police or the specialized agency, S.H.I.E.L.D., he needed to be extra cautious.
Primarily, he hadn't learned the Disguise Charm yet, otherwise, he wouldn't need to be so careful.
Walking the streets of Queens, Jerry didn't immediately head to areas with higher crime rates. Instead, he took a familiar route to a shop on a certain street.
"Lina's Magical Boutique!"
This shop specializes in selling various fairy tale costumes and props to children and is Elsa's favorite. Several of Elsa's Snow Queen outfits and magic wands were bought here.
Why did Jerry come to this shop so late at night?
Naturally, because he needed his own set of battle robes!
In the real world, unlike in the case of Superman, a simple pair of glasses wouldn't be enough to prevent others from recognizing him.
To avoid being identified while earning Little Red Stars, he needed a distinctive, face-concealing battle robe, just like any proper superhero.
For a genuine wizard, what could be more suitable than a wizard robe?
Fortunately, Jerry knew that "Lina's Magical Boutique" sold several different colors and styles of wizard robes.
