Chapter 1790: A War Without Winners (Part 240)
Chapter 1790: A War Without Winners (Part 240)
Regardless, the wedding had to continue, or else the Weasley family would likely become the laughingstock of the British magical community.
Many of the guests who had come to attend the wedding noticed the chaos, but most attributed it to Fred and George's antics, believing that it was normal for such a situation to occur when hosting two weddings simultaneously.
The guests might grumble about it, but they didn't take it to heart, treating it as mere entertainment.
Especially for the wizards who were visiting Avalon for the first time, the moment they set foot in the village, they were captivated by this unfamiliar place.
Although many had read about Avalon in the newspapers, being here in person gave them a different feeling.
Avalon lacked the historical charm of Diagon Alley and didn't exude the same old-fashioned aura as the once-wizarding village of Hogsmeade.
Instead, it boasted clean and tidy cement streets, spacious and bright Fountain Park with blooming flowers everywhere, and already-built "luxury" villas. Everything that met the eye was captivating, causing many to consider settling down in Avalon.
However, the place seemed unwelcoming to outsiders, with many areas having their doors tightly shut, coldly turning away the guests.
This forced the guests to focus more on the wedding, and soon, they realized that this wedding was quite different from what they had heard before, especially for the Weasley relatives who had previously attended Harry and Ginny's wedding.
As for what was different, they couldn't quite put their finger on it, but something felt very off.
Oh, right, the wedding ceremony seemed simpler. It felt like in the blink of an eye, the newlyweds had exchanged their rings and vows under everyone's gaze.
"Perhaps you should convince them to give up such a fantasy."
In Percy's eyes, Fred and George's wedding was nothing but a joke.
"I couldn't convince them..." Albert shook his head.
In a way, Percy wasn't wrong in his complaint; Fred and George had indeed received Albert's "support" to some extent, which led to this situation.
"Thankfully they didn't ruin today's wedding, or Mom would have gone crazy."
"What's going on today that you wouldn't know about?"
Suddenly, Albert felt that Percy was becoming more and more like a politician, with his thick skin allowing him to say such things without blushing.
Pretending not to hear, Percy lowered his voice and asked, "When do you plan to leave Britain?" as the first song ended and people rushed onto the dance floor to offer their blessings to the newlyweds.
"Oh, is it getting out of hand over there?" Albert wasn't surprised.
"It's best to do it within a week; the Ministry of Magic is ready," Weasley said, fixing his gaze on Albert. This was one of his main purposes for coming today; he had to obtain the exact date of Albert's departure from Britain.
"That's not a problem. I'll write to Kingsley within a week," Albert agreed.
He had no interest in getting involved in this mess, even if it meant gaining some task experience.
"Let's go up and dance!"
After offering her blessings to the newlyweds, Audrey took some time to find Percy, who was chatting with Albert in the crowd.
"How does it feel?"
Smiling, Percy bid farewell to Albert, then headed for the dance floor with his girlfriend on his arm.
"It's quite unique; everything here seems so out of place." Audrey didn't dislike it; she even felt a bit envious, as her previous life had been different.
"Albert is always so unique, which is why Avalon, his creation, is so special. But who knows what it will become once he leaves!" Percy noticed the envy in Audrey's eyes and knew that many wanted to settle here, but he had no such plans.
Yes, Percy didn't have high hopes for Avalon.
He understood the harshness of reality better than anyone, and such a fantasy could only last so briefly. Albert alone couldn't sustain it for long.
"So, that's why you broke up with Penelope?" Audrey asked with a smile.
"The time at Hogwarts was indeed a wonderful memory, but Penelope was too idealistic, and reality is too cruel," Percy calmly explained the reason for their breakup. "I'm not Albert; I couldn't stand up to reality, so we parted ways to avoid unnecessary future pain!"
"Oh, I see!"
Audrey had just met Penelope and knew her attitude. She was quite satisfied with Percy as a boyfriend and future husband, even though their relationship was more of an arranged marriage between ancient wizarding families.
To be honest, today's wedding was indeed novel for Audrey. However, she also noticed that Percy seemed a bit out of place in the Weasley family.
"Audrey is indeed a better match for Percy than Penelope!"
Isabella, who had suddenly appeared from somewhere, spoke as she watched the two leave.
"That's true," Albert turned to look at his wife.
"What's up?"
There was a pause, and then Isabella realized Albert had something to say.
"We'll likely be leaving Britain soon," Albert spoke frankly.
"Earlier than I expected. It's fine here, but what about the factory?" Isabella had already guessed what they had been discussing.
"We'll definitely get it done before we leave!" Albert shared his upcoming plans. "We'll start with the Far East, and I plan to take Little Alice there to show them around."
At that moment, everyone heard a commotion outside, followed by fireworks blooming above their heads.
Everyone was confused, wondering why fireworks were being set off. It would have been a beautiful sight if it were night.
"Let's move to another spot."
Albert, gazing at the fireworks filling the sky, signaled Isabella to head back to the pub.
House-elves had already prepared the wedding banquet in advance, waiting for the wedding ceremony to conclude.
Fred, George, Angelina, and Katie preferred creating beautiful memories with familiar friends rather than celebrating with barely acquainted relatives.
As for what others might think about the two missing newlywed couples, it was up to their families to deal with.
"Everyone's waiting for you."
After the newlyweds entered, countless firecrackers burst around them. Lee Jordan closed the pub door with a smile and raised his camera, saying, "Come on, give each other a kiss. I'll take some photos for you to remember this moment."
The atmosphere quickly became lively, and Albert waved his wand to add a touch of romance.
As they enjoyed the delicious food prepared by the house-elves, they reveled in the joyous atmosphere of the wedding, admiring the newlywed photos Albert had taken from various angles.
"I didn't know you were good at this," Lee Jordan said with a hint of resentment in his voice.
"I just found out myself," Albert admitted.
Holding Isabella's hand, Albert laughed as they joined the dance floor. The wedding banquet had only just begun.
