Chapter 179: Unscrupulous Betrayal
Chapter 179: Unscrupulous Betrayal
Having lost all hope, Wan Yuliang was dragged into the house and became quiet.
But soon, his calmness vanished.
Under the dim starlight, he spotted a familiar figure.
And the reason he found himself in this predicament, facing the murderer, was all because of one person.
At this moment, his anger was fully ignited.
"Gao! You betrayed me!"
Gao Songbai felt a twinge of guilt.
He looked at Jiang Cheng, pleading for help.
After all, he didn't want to do this either; he was forced.
"Gao, I've treated you well. I've never missed giving you red envelopes during festivals, and I've often treated you to meals and drinks even on regular days. Yet, this is how you repay me? Are you even human? Huh? You're nothing but a beast!"
Wan Yuliang's teeth clenched in fury.
He never expected this.
He had trusted the other person so much, and yet they had dragged him into this mess! Gao Songbai, already seething with anger, couldn't bear the harsh words.
"Mr. Wan, don't act all innocent. All those favors I did for you, were they free? Did I not help you with your tasks? Once, when you arrested the wrong person, nearly causing a huge problem, who helped you clean up the mess? It was me! Do you know why I'm here? It's to help you, right? And what happened? All my men are dead! I don't know how many bullets I've taken! I've done my part, and you know it! You ungrateful..."
Wan Yuliang was stunned by the accusations.
He looked at Gao Songbai, and indeed, he was covered in blood.
"You see that?"
Wan Yuliang's demeanor suddenly deflated.
"But even so, you shouldn't have..."
"Don't blame me, I was forced too."
Gao Songbai sighed.
"Wrong."
Suddenly, a voice interrupted.
"He wasn't forced. He called you here, and now he's blaming you. He even gave me your home address, Four Seasons Garden Community, Unit 26, right?"
"What!"
Wan Yuliang turned to Gao Songbai in shock.
"No, it's not like that."
Gao Songbai felt helpless.
What did this person mean? Did he want them to turn against each other?
"Not only that, but he also told me your address, Four Seasons Garden Community, Unit 26, right?"
Wan Yuliang's face changed dramatically.
"Gao! Song! Bai!"
He called out each word, his eyes filled with hatred.
"No, Wan Yuliang, listen to me. He forced me to say it! He forced me!" Gao Songbai quickly explained.
"Forced you? Haha, and you just did as he said? If he told you to die, would you do it? Alright, alright."
Wan Yuliang repeated the word 'good' three times, a cold smile appearing on his face, "Since you've been so ruthless, don't blame me for being ungrateful."
"No! Stop! Don't!"
Gao Songbai, who had been sitting on the ground, suddenly found strength and lunged towards Wan Yuliang.
Unfortunately, before he could make a move, Jiang Cheng shot him in the abdomen, causing his body to curl up like a shrimp.
"This guy's family also lives in Four Seasons Garden Community, Unit 36."
"No, no..."
Gao Songbai was in pain, cold sweat forming, still pleading with Jiang Cheng not to reveal this information.
Unfortunately, it was to no avail.
"Unit 36. So, your families live quite close to each other."
With these words, the room fell silent.
Gao Songbai and Wan Yuliang instantly realized that the person before them was their common enemy.
"You... you said you'd let me go." Gao Songbai spoke in a halting voice, his eyes pleading.
The gunshots to his arms and legs had caused significant blood loss, but his Primordial Energy Warrior training kept him going.
But the recent shot to his abdomen was no laughing matter.
"Hahaha!" Wan Yuliang burst into laughter beside him. "Should I call you naive or stupid? Did you really think that by tricking me here, he'd let you off the hook?"
"What are you laughing at?" Jiang Cheng suddenly turned to him.
"Hmph!" Wan Yuliang scoffed. "You want to kill me? Go ahead! By the way, let me tell you, one of the two women you rescued got lucky, and I couldn't find her. But the other woman and her entire family were sent away by me. You know how they died, and you know you have no way out."
So he wouldn't beg for mercy anymore.
"How did they die?" Jiang Cheng asked.
"They..."
"Shut up!" Gao Songbai mustered all his strength. "Are you stupid? He already knows where my family lives! Don't you worry that he'll kill us and go after our families?"
Wan Yuliang froze.
He had been too agitated earlier and momentarily forgot that his address was already known to his captors.
"Go on, I'm listening," Jiang Cheng said calmly.
Wan Yuliang stammered for a moment before finally pleading, "I killed that family. If you want to kill me, I won't complain, but this has nothing to do with my wife and child. Please, don't hurt them."
"Then why did you kill my mother and go after that family?" Wan Yuliang froze again.
"Grandpa, I didn't kill them. If you insist on killing me, can you please not harm my family?" Gao Songbai pleaded.
His face had turned pale due to excessive blood loss.
"I have money. If you want secret martial arts, I can buy them. Just let my family go, please. I beg you." He even started crying as he spoke.
Jiang Cheng shook his head.
Both of these men were deeply sinful.
Wan Yuliang's crimes were well-known; he was responsible for the disappearance of many women, the cruel murder of Chen Hui's family, and even in his final moments, he showed no remorse. If not for the timely reminder, he would have continued to feel proud of himself.
Gao Songbai wasn't any better.
The Wild Wolf Gang had caused countless families to break apart and people to die in their pursuit of management fees. Yet, while the gang members changed, Gao Songbai remained a constant.
Of course, in this matter, Gao Songbai was merely a pawn.
"You bastard! I'll fight you to the death!" Gao Songbai's eyes turned bloodshot, and in the next moment, Jiang Cheng shot him in the head, killing him instantly.
Wan Yuliang's mouth hung open at the sight.
The next moment, he reacted and started banging his head on the ground in front of Jiang Cheng.
"Please, spare my family. Please, please, I beg you," Wan Yuliang pleaded.
Jiang Cheng felt a surge of sadness upon seeing this.
"They must have begged you the same way before they died, right?" Wan Yuliang's body stiffened.
Indeed, their pleas for mercy only excited him further, rather than evoking any sympathy.
"Bang bang bang bang bang..."
As the gunshots rang out, Wan Yuliang's body convulsed wildly, and blood gushed from his body.
Only when the gunshots ceased did he fall to the ground, his eyes wide open.
