Chapter 1786: A War Without Victors (Part 236)
Knock! Knock! Knock!
In the quiet of the night, a rapid series of knocks echoed through the late hours.
A figure cloaked in black stood anxiously outside an old house, their hands clenched tightly around a wand hidden beneath the cloak. They listened intently to the sounds within, while cautiously scanning the surroundings, fearing any sudden surprises.
After the rapid knocks, movement soon stirred inside the house, and the aged wooden door creaked open a crack.
"It's me, Grell," the cloaked figure announced.
Grell pushed an item through the door, and soon, the door opened wide enough for them to enter.
"You shouldn't have come at this time," the young man who opened the door scowled, "This could easily expose us."
Grell, the cloaked figure, paid no heed to his companion's complaint and instead, excitedly muttered to himself, "Our chance has come."
"Alright, old pal, don't get so worked up," the door-opener said, frowning slightly as he faced the visitor, "We all know they're about to lose their patience!"
"Do you know how long I've been waiting?" Grell asked.
As Grell stepped inside, he could no longer contain his emotions, appearing slightly hysterical.
"Of course, I know. We've all been waiting too long. But if you can't calm down, I don't mind helping you calm down!" As he spoke, Grell produced a potion bottle from somewhere, containing a calming draught.
"Sorry, I got carried away. And put that away, Will."
Grell glanced at the potion bottle but ultimately chose to remain silent. After taking a deep breath, he couldn't help but ask, "Where's Nelson?"
"He's not here, but if you have any important news, I can help you contact him."
Seeing that Grell had calmed down, the young man named Will finally put away the potion bottle.
"Our chance for revenge is coming!" Grell exclaimed.
"I know, Grell," Will acknowledged.
"No, you don't know. We only have this one chance. Achieving complete revenge isn't easy, and Nelson alone isn't enough."
Grell's eyes fixed intently on Will, "I can do it too. Many others can. It's not just Nelson who has that determination!"
"No, there aren't as many people with that determination as you think. Most can only assist. They don't have the resolve to risk everything." Will looked disdainfully at Grell, whose mind was clouded by hatred, and he sighed heavily, "Don't blame them. Their willingness to help is enough."
Apparently not expecting such an answer, Grell opened his mouth, unable to hold back his question, "Then how many of us are there?"
Will glanced at him and said calmly, "Not many. If you count yourself, there are only three."
"Aside from Nelson and you, who else is there?"
"Me!" Will added softly.
"Time is running out. After the Weasleys' twins' graduation, Albert Anderson may leave Britain at any moment, and his departure means the conflict will fully erupt."
"If only he would stand with us!" Grell sighed regretfully.
"Nelson said Mr. Anderson neither supports nor opposes our revenge. He seems to have always known we'd seek revenge on the Death Eaters' remnants. He said it's our right."
"It's a shame if he would only agree..."
"To pin your hopes on others is the height of foolishness.
"Will suddenly burst into a cold laugh," Let's see Kingsley, how he betrayed us."
"Kingsley has his own matters to consider," a calm voice suddenly echoed in the room, and the two men looked to the side, only to see someone smiling at them.
"I just got a message."
"You don't mean..."
Grell immediately realized he had been deceived.
"That's what I mean, the British Ministry of Magic has been keeping an eye on me," Nelson chuckled.
"Alright, let's go."
The two followed him into the study, and immediately noticed the large map on the wall.
"This is..."
"The Map of Britain." Nelson drew his wand and tapped it lightly, and numerous names suddenly appeared on the flagged locations.
"I know it's the Map of Britain, I mean, those names..."
6◇9◇Book◇Bar
Grell saw many familiar names on the map.
"That's our target." Will explained, "Their family estate is usually protected by ancient magic, which makes it impossible to appear on the map. And we can't possibly break in, so the best way is..."
"To use the Fiery Curse," Nelson said softly.
Hearing this dark magic, both men felt a chill in their hearts, as they were well aware of the Fiery Curse's danger and uncontrollability.
"The uncontrollable Fiery Curse can almost destroy everything, including the ancient magic protecting the estate." Nelson's calm words revealed a hint of madness, "I believe that in the chaos of the night, they will have a hard time reacting, and even if they do, it doesn't matter. Someone will ensure that he is thoroughly killed."
"But I won't use the Fiery Curse." Grell suddenly spoke up.
"You don't need to worry about that. If you really want to risk your life, there will be a way."
Nelson didn't trust anyone, but he wouldn't stop others from seeking revenge on the remaining Death Eaters, just as Albert wouldn't stop him.
"I think there's one name missing here!"
Grell raised his wand and lightly tapped a spot on the map, and a name appeared there.
"Kingsley betrayed us, and I think he deserves punishment! I never thought of killing Kingsley, after all, that guy is the Minister of Magic." Grell's eyes flashed with a vengeful gleam, "I just want to kill his family and let that hypocrite understand the pain of losing everything."
Nelson looked at Grell in surprise, although he did have similar plans, if the other was willing to do it, he wouldn't oppose it. After all, they had worked with Kingsley, and he wasn't in a position to stop him, it's just that he wasn't sure if this guy was trustworthy.
"Don't kill our Minister, or else no one will be left to clean up the mess." Will reminded him.
"I won't do that, it's too easy on him!"
"Are you sure there won't be any problems?"
After the cloaked figure left, Will suddenly spoke up, "I just feel that guy isn't very reliable."
"What does that have to do with us." Nelson patted his old friend's shoulder, "By the time I'm dead, the dead don't need to consider the aftermath."
"We only need to consider one thing, and that is how to drag all our enemies down to hell together.
