Chapter 1757: A War Without Winners (Two Hundred and Seven)
Chapter 1757: A War Without Winners (Two Hundred and Seven)
To be honest, Albert wasn't particularly fond of teaching and wasn't keen on wasting his limited patience on Hogwarts students. But... he had always been a responsible man, and knowing that he had privileges and was causing trouble at Hogwarts, he didn't want to let Professor McGonagall down and leave her with a mess.
So, it was important for Albert to teach this batch of graduates well.
Many people only look at the results, but if Albert could teach a batch of outstanding students, who would dare say that his teaching methods were problematic?
They would automatically assume that this was the way a genius's mind worked.
Hermione quickly spread the word, and most students were willing to spare a few hours to attend Albert's "extra lessons" after learning that he was willing to do so in his free time after his duties. After all, every time they attended Albert's class, they could clearly feel their progress.
Who wouldn't want to attend such a class? What truly surprised Albert was the large number of students who showed up, including all the sixth-year students, who were glaring at him with resentment.
However, Albert thought they might have misunderstood, suspecting that the message Hermione conveyed on his behalf was severely distorted.
He wasn't there to teach them; he had come to check on their revision progress and identify areas they didn't understand, intending to spare some time to clarify their doubts.
As expected, this was well-received by the students, and the atmosphere was even better than during class. Many students preferred to pour out all their questions at once, resulting in a late night before they were willing to let Albert leave.
"Your classes are always so popular!"
Professor Flitwick appeared out of nowhere, smiling at Albert as they walked together towards the Great Hall.
"They've finally met someone willing to teach them Defense Against the Dark Arts properly, so they're eager to learn something useful from me." Albert was well aware of his situation and knew that their enthusiasm had nothing to do with his fame.
No matter how famous he was, if they didn't like it, they didn't like it, unless they were there to see him, not to attend his class.
"You're always so humble, but everyone genuinely enjoys your classes." Professor Flitwick casually asked, "Actually, we're all curious if you have any tricks up your sleeve."
"If I have to say something, I think we should try to make them like Defense Against the Dark Arts and want to learn something they're interested in. After all, interest is the best teacher."
Albert's words earned Professor Flitwick's approval.
When one has an interest, they will naturally invest time in learning, paying attention, practicing, and mastering the subject, without the need for anyone's concern.
That day, Albert stayed at Hogwarts for dinner and casually chatted with the professors about recent trivial matters.
When he returned to his office, it was already close to 7:30 pm.
As Albert picked up a handful of Floo powder, intending to use the Floo Network to return home, the door to the Defense Against the Dark Arts office was suddenly knocked on.
"Who could it be at this hour?"
Albert didn't think it was likely to be Cedric; that guy was probably with his girlfriend. So, it was most likely Hermione or another student.
He put the Floo powder back into the jar and walked over to open the door, only to find two familiar girls standing outside.
"Hermione, Luna?"
Albert looked at the girls outside the door in surprise, or rather, at Luna beside Hermione.
"I hope we're not disturbing you."
"No, what can I do for you?"
Albert took a step back and invited the two girls into his office.
"I heard you're planning to travel around the world!" Luna, who had just sat down, suddenly brought up a confusing topic.
"Yes, I do have such plans. Do you have similar intentions?" Albert looked into Luna's eyes, understanding her thoughts.
"Yes, I want to travel and also search for a unicorn." Luna blinked her beautiful eyes at Albert, "Do you know about unicorns?"
"No. To be honest, I'm not very knowledgeable about magical creatures." Albert couldn't help but laugh, "So, you're seeking my advice on traveling?"
"Traveling alone isn't safe." Luna replied without hesitation.
"I'm glad you realize that." Albert said with relief, "Especially for a girl. It's not safe for a young lady to wander around on her own."
"Are you trying to discourage me?" Luna raised her eyebrows slightly.
"No, I just want to inform you of the challenges." Albert shook his head and continued, "First, you need to learn various outdoor skills, know how to interact with Muggles, possess certain self-defense abilities, and most importantly, you need money. Otherwise, you won't get far, and knowing how to make money is crucial." Albert shared what he thought were essential considerations.
Undoubtedly, Luna had chosen an extremely difficult path, and not everyone could become a Newt.
Luna suddenly regretted coming to see Albert.
"Give her some more reliable advice." Hermione, having experienced similar situations, understood Albert's intentions: he didn't think highly of Luna's plan.
"Well, if you really want to do this, I suggest you start with Britain. At least you can go home when you're hungry. Once you've accumulated some experience and wealth, then consider whether to leave Britain and travel the world."
"By the way, the Forbidden Forest is a good place, but you need to be cautious when entering. Both centaurs and eight-eyed spiders are difficult to deal with."
"Thank you for your advice."
Luna took a deep breath, feeling that her thoughts had become much clearer, just as Albert said. The path she had chosen was bound to be challenging.
After expressing her gratitude, Luna bid farewell and left.
"The path Luna has chosen is indeed challenging!" Hermione looked at Luna's departing figure, faintly seeing her own reflection in Luna. Unlike Luna, she still had Albert as a backup.
"The path Luna has chosen is indeed difficult, but I believe that if she persists, she will become an excellent naturalist." Albert spoke softly, "After all, she's the type of person who can keep going based on her interests."
"You have high praise for her!" Hermione placed her hand on the doorknob and gently closed the office door.
"Many times, only someone like Luna can accomplish certain things." Albert looked at Hermione with a smile, "And what you want to do is much more challenging than what she wants to do."
