Chapter 173: The Alluring and Commanding Carol
Chapter 173: The Alluring and Commanding Carol
"Sis Li, can you really pilot a mech?"
Having tossed someone into the cargo hold, Wang Si and Nannali made their way to the mech cockpit.
Holding Nannali in his arms, Wang Si felt a bit guilty.
"What's the matter? Don't you trust me?"
Not giving Wang Si a moment to react, there was a loud boom as the mech took off, instantly reaching supersonic speed.
The sonic boom startled Wang Si, causing him to tightly embrace Nannali's slender waist.
"This mech of yours is no good. The materials and systems are too rudimentary, making it uncomfortable to pilot. I'll get you a more advanced one in a couple of days."
One of the Four Dark Kings, and she so casually offers to get a new advanced mech. Who could argue with that?
Wang Si had nothing to say to that.
"Sis Li, does your presence here mean that the Holy Spirit Church is planning something big in this area?"
Nannali lay in Wang Si's arms in an extremely lazy posture, casually holding onto the control rod with one hand while letting out a yawn.
"Why does there always have to be some grand scheme? The Holy Spirit Church has always kept a low profile.
Except for those lunatics who need to massacre innocents to boost their power and make a statement.
Most members of the Holy Spirit Church, like me, are simply mutants with war souls. We possess far greater destructive power and adverse effects than conventional soul masters, and so we are called evil soul masters.
Do you think I'm evil?"
Wang Si gestured with his hand and silently nodded.
"Indeed, a little evil."
Nannali laughed and teased, "You little rascal," before refocusing on piloting the mech.
Along the way, aside from physical contact, the two rarely spoke.
Wang Si didn't ask about the Holy Spirit Church, and Nannali didn't inquire further about the Blacksmith Association.
Although their deep exchange had strengthened their bond, they chose to maintain a comfortable distance to sustain their relationship for the long haul.
............
"Hello, who are you looking for?"
Liu Yue was curious as to who would come at this hour as she opened the door.
A tall, fair-skinned woman with black-framed glasses, dressed in a black body-hugging business suit and black stockings, stood at the door. Liu Yue was taken aback.
"Hello, is this the residence of Mr. Wang Si?"
The woman politely bowed to Liu Yue and then straightened her posture, pushing up her glasses.
"Yes, may I ask who you are?"
Liu Yue was intimidated by the woman's aura, causing her to speak cautiously.
"Mr. Wang Si had complained about the unprofessionalism of his previous mech pilot, right? I'm the new mech pilot assigned by the upper management to instruct him in mech piloting. You can call me Lily."
The tall woman presented her mech pilot credentials as she spoke.
Liu Yue took the credentials and glanced over them briefly.
"Please come in. I can find you a room first. Wang Si is currently practicing blacksmithing in the forge and will likely be occupied for a while longer."
Hearing that Wang Si was blacksmithing, the tall woman looked surprised. She adjusted her glasses and said, "May I go to the forge to see him now? Don't worry, I won't disturb him."
Liu Yue nodded after scrutinizing the tall woman from head to toe.
"He's just practicing right now, so you can go take a look. But remember, no matter which blacksmith it is, you must never disturb them when they are crafting. Keep that in mind for the future."
"This house is so big, but it doesn't seem like there are many people living here. Don't you find it creepy staying in such a large place at night?"
Liu Yue was taken aback by the woman's question.
Creepy at night? Why would it be creepy? It actually gets quite lively around here after dark.
However, it wasn't the kind of lively atmosphere that a certain someone might be imagining, so it was best not to bring up that topic.
Liu Yue led the tall woman to the forging area, where she saw a silver-haired girl studying some parts and assembling something.
Sensing the stranger's gaze, the silver-haired girl looked up.
Their eyes met, and the tall woman furrowed her brows, feeling as though the silver-haired girl had seen through her disguise during that brief moment of eye contact.
Impossible!
To see through her disguise would require a cultivator of at least level ninety-five, and at that level, most experts in the Federation knew each other.
How could there suddenly be an unknown cultivator of such a high level?
As the door to the forging room opened, the rhythmic sound of metal being struck rang out, drawing the tall woman's attention away from the silver-haired girl.
Narel narrowed her eyes as she watched the tall woman walk into the forging room.
......
After finishing his fusion forging practice, Wang Si let out a deep breath and put away his two forging hammers.
"Liu Yue, I'll be doing a Spirit Forge tonight. It's been a while since I've done one, so my hands feel a bit rusty."
Without turning around, Wang Si spoke casually.
Liu Yue was startled by Wang Si's words and glanced at the tall woman standing beside her before looking back at Wang Si, who was still completely focused on his forging.
"Don't you realize there's someone else here? Why are you so casual about mentioning a Spirit Forge?"
Wang Si finally noticed the presence of another person in the room and frowned, about to reprimand this intruder who had concealed their aura. But then he saw a familiar smile.
In that instant, Wang Si recognized the tall woman's true identity, but that didn't mean he would let her off the hook.
"Who are you, and why did you suddenly appear here?"
The tall woman quickly lowered her head, assuming a wronged expression as if she had accidentally stumbled upon some earth-shattering secret.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Wang. The Mayor assigned me some tasks, and I wanted to meet with you as soon as possible.
I apologize if I disturbed you. If you're unhappy with me, I can leave immediately, and the Mayor will send a new mech pilot."
"Enough!"
Wang Si interrupted her with a low shout and then glared at Liu Yue.
"From now on, no one is to be brought into the forging room during practice, understand?"
Liu Yue pressed her lips together and nodded silently.
"The forging room is yours for the night. Good luck with your soul forging."
With that, Wang Si left the forging room with the tall woman in tow.
She followed him back to the villa and into a room, where she finally dropped her disguise.
