Chapter 173: An Attack Like a Stab of Hell
Chapter 173: An Attack Like a Stab of Hell
Troy quickly pulled out specially crafted square shuriken from his ninja tool pouch and infused them with Magnetic Release chakra.
With his control over the Magnetic Release chakra, Troy merely waved his hand, and the shuriken shot toward Kakashi like a rain of arrows.
Unlike other users of Magnetic Release, Troy had honed his skill into a control art. He could infuse his unique Magnetic Release chakra into shuriken, and with just a touch, his opponent's body would become magnetized and immobilized by his control.
Even without direct physical contact, the effect would still transfer to the target if their weapon was magnetized, just as if they had been touched.
With this god-like control ability, Troy had taken down numerous jonin. Anyone unaware of his ability would easily fall prey to it.
"Teacher Mu Yue, there's something strange about his shuriken. Don't try to block them with your weapons," Kakashi warned quickly as he saw the bizarre shuriken coming their way again. He was concerned that Mu Yue might fall victim to Troy's ability as well.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Flame Crimson Claw!"
Mu Yue exhaled a large mouthful of flames and then swiftly threw out numerous shuriken. The shuriken, burning with intense flames, resembled small fireballs with sharp blades, making them exceptionally powerful.
Rumble, rumble!
All of Troy's shuriken were instantly blocked, and some of the small fireballs continued toward Troy and Kankyume.
The two immediately leaped apart to dodge the fireballs.
"What a powerful Fire Release," Troy exclaimed in surprise as he witnessed his Magnetic shuriken being intercepted.
His Magnetic shuriken had two applications. One was pure control, which consumed less chakra, and the other was to strengthen the shuriken's power by consuming more chakra. He had just used the second method.
"I'll engage in close combat and create an opening for you," Kankyume said resolutely, drawing the longsword from her back.
Mu Yue seemed like the type of ninja who excelled in ninjutsu, so Kankyume intended to create an opportunity through melee combat.
The Cloud-Hidden ninja were most renowned for their Lightning Release ninjutsu. The Fire Shadow might not know Fire Release, but the Cloud-Hidden ninja from the Lightning Country usually had a grasp of Lightning Release ninjutsu.
"I'll provide support when needed," Troy said as he took out more square shuriken. With his Magnetic Release chakra control, the shuriken hovered around him, ready to be fired at any moment.
Kankyume's feet erupted with chakra as she used the Body Flicker Technique to swiftly close in on Mu Yue.
Seeing that the enemy intended to engage Mu Yue in taijutsu, Kakashi heaved a sigh of relief. Mu Yue was not a one-trick ninja; while she excelled in ninjutsu, her taijutsu skills were also impressive.
As Kankyume drew closer, she infused a large amount of lightning-attribute chakra into her sword, enveloping it in blue electrical arcs that crackled menacingly.
"You want to compete in ninjutsu? I know a little something about that too," Mu Yue chuckled. She quietly switched her breathing style from Rock Breath to Thunder Breath.
"Thunder Breath, Full Concentration Breath, Lightning Release: Finger Gun!"
Mu Yue's hand erupted with dazzling lightning, and with the use of Full Concentration Breath, an intimidating aura surged from her body.
Facing the slashing sword, Mu Yue chose to extend a finger and point it out.
On one side was a sword entwined with lightning, and on the other, a finger empowered with lightning.
Zzzz!
A deafening electrical noise erupted, and the blue light between them illuminated the surrounding darkness.
Clang!
The sword, enveloped in dazzling lightning, snapped in half, and the tremendous force sent Kankyume flying backward. She crashed into several large trees before coming to a stop.
"Impossible! How could a Konoha ninja master Hell Stab? If she had used One Finger Nukite, I would be dead by now," Kankyume thought to herself as she spat out a mouthful of blood, trying to reassure herself.
Even the child of the Third Raikage had failed to master that terrifying taijutsu.
While Kankyume was attacking, Troy wasn't idle either. He controlled his shuriken, sending them at Mu Yue from three different directions, coordinating with Kankyume's frontal assault to create an all-encompassing attack.
However, what Troy hadn't anticipated was Kankyume's swift defeat. She was sent flying in an instant.
Moreover, Troy was astonished by Mu Yue's subsequent display of speed. Mu Yue moved so swiftly that he couldn't even see her dodging all the shuriken. Not a single one of his weapons came close to touching her.
"Amazing! So fast!" exclaimed Kakashi, who could only watch the battle unfold.
He had been worried when Mu Yue chose to face the enemy's sword with her finger instead of using her incredible speed to dodge. But now, he realized that her taijutsu skills were even more formidable than he had imagined.
Kakashi couldn't even keep up with Mu Yue's movements; he only saw her shift positions multiple times in an instant, flawlessly evading every attack.
After his moment of awe, Kakashi was filled with curiosity. Why was a ninja of Mu Yue's caliber teaching at the Ninja Academy? Surely, the academy didn't need instructors of her caliber to teach basic taijutsu and transformation techniques.
Such a comparison might seem heartless, but Mu Yue's prowess far surpassed that of Kakashi's previous instructor.
"Hahaha! It seems your companion is no match for Teacher Mu Yue," Obito remarked with a laugh, sensing the situation on Mu Yue's side.
"It's too early to tell," replied Rock Lee, who also sensed that something was amiss but chose to maintain his faith in Troy.
To quickly finish off Obito and come to Troy's aid, Rock Lee deliberately exposed a weakness, luring Obito into a false sense of advantage. He planned to wait for Obito to overcommit before striking with a decisive blow.
"Teacher Mu Yue, I'll be done with my opponent soon and come to help you," Obito said, feeling confident that he could take down Kakashi.
"Don't get carried away," Kakashi warned. "The one in front of you is not a sparring partner but an enemy who aims to kill."
"Damn you, Kakashi! You're just standing there, giving orders," Obito muttered in annoyance. Still, he heeded Kakashi's advice and became more conservative in his attacks.
He didn't want to make any embarrassing mistakes at such a crucial moment. Once this was over, he planned to tease Kakashi relentlessly.
"Kankyume, do your best to disrupt her," Troy ordered, his face stern. He then took out a scroll and performed a summoning technique, bringing forth two giant shuriken, each over a meter long.
He was about to unleash his ultimate technique, but he was concerned about hitting his target due to Mu Yue's incredible speed.
First, Troy used his Magnetic Release chakra to magnetize the giant shuriken. Then, he infused them with a large amount of Lightning-attribute chakra. Thus, a pair of rapidly spinning giant Lightning shuriken were created.
