Chapter 171: Thor, Deprived of His Divine Power (Second Update)
Chapter 171: Thor, Deprived of His Divine Power (Second Update)
"So, you don't know where he went?"
After listening to Jane's account, Jerry had a rough idea of the situation.
"Oh, I think he should still be around the restaurant where we ate. After all, he doesn't have a car, and it's been less than fifteen minutes since we parted ways!"
Daisy looked down at her watch and replied.
Jerry's eyes narrowed slightly at her words:
"Where is that restaurant? Can you take me there? I want to talk to Mr. Thor about some things!"
"Of course, it's on the east side of the town. I'll drive you there!"
Jane quickly responded.
Jerry had helped her retrieve her most important experimental equipment and research notes, so it was only natural to return the favor.
Besides, seeing that peculiar Thor again didn't seem like a bad idea.
Although he was a bit delusional, like a patient with delusions, he was undeniably charming when he was normal, much more so than her ex-boyfriend, that lousy doctor.
"Ms. Foster, you really are quite an enthusiastic person!"<|im_end|>
Jerry couldn't help but joke when he saw Jane agree so quickly, as if she was afraid someone else would take the job.
Though he didn't say it outright, Jerry could clearly sense from Jane's narration that she had developed a fondness for Thor.
"Let's go, we might lose that delusional patient otherwise!"
Jane's face turned slightly red, and she picked up her coat, beckoning to Jerry.
"See you later!"
Jerry waved to Professor Erik and the assistant, Daisy, then followed Jane into her modified van.
After a few twists and turns, they found Thor standing in front of a pet store on East Street, about five minutes later.
"Look, there he is. What's he doing at a pet store?"
The van parked on the side of the road, and Jane pointed to the man in a brown jacket who had just entered the pet store, looking puzzled.
The man appeared to be in his thirties, with shoulder-length golden hair and a tall, muscular build, striding confidently into the pet store.
"Let's go see!"
Jerry opened the van door and led the way, with Jane following closely behind.
However, before they reached the pet store, they heard a deep, commanding male voice from inside:
"I need a horse!"
The pet store owner, standing opposite Thor, was stunned. Who in their right mind would think a pet store would have a horse?
"Sorry, sir, we don't have horses. We only have dogs, cats, birds..."
"Give me something big enough to ride!"
Thor waved his hand, seemingly unperturbed by the lack of horses.
The pet store owner sized up Thor's imposing figure, then glanced around at the pets in the store. His eyes finally settled on the largest pet, a Husky.
The Husky looked at the owner with its intelligent eyes, then stretched its head out, successfully getting its head stuck outside the cage.
"Hey, Thor, come out here!"
Jane, standing at the door, covered her forehead as Thor walked towards her with a look of surprise, and she explained in a low voice:
"There are no animals in the pet store that can carry you!"
Thor smiled nonchalantly:
"There's no other way. This mortal body is too weak to walk and search for Mjolnir. You wouldn't take me there, so I had to do something!"
"Hello, Thor, if you don't mind, I can take you to retrieve your Mjolnir!"
At that moment, Jerry stepped forward.
Thor looked down at Jerry with a puzzled expression:
"Who are you, young man?"
"Kid?"
Jerry couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, but he knew that at this moment, he was presenting Hermione's image, so being called a kid wasn't entirely wrong.
"You can call me Wizard, a human who can wield a bit of Magic!"
Jerry pointed his wand at a nearby trash can, and it instantly transformed into a white stallion.
"Are you a Mage from Midgard? Do you recognize me?"
Thor, upon seeing Jerry cast Magic, immediately knew he was a Mage from the human world.
Thor, who had lived for 1,500 years, hadn't been to Midgard in a long time, but he was still aware that there were a few Mages in this realm.
Jerry nodded.
"I've read about you in magic books, and a few hours ago, I saw Mjolnir embedded in the ground, which no one could lift!"
Honestly, in Jerry's view, among The Avengers, Thor might have the strongest raw power and no significant weaknesses.
Well, he wasn't entirely without flaws; his brain didn't seem to be the sharpest tool in the shed.
Iron Man relied entirely on technology and his Iron Man suit. Without his armor, he was pretty much an ordinary person, and a skilled assassin could potentially take him out.
Hulk was also powerful, but Dr. Banner couldn't control him. Captain America had physical attributes several times that of a normal human, but he could still die from a bullet.
As for Black Widow and Hawkeye, they lacked the raw power to match the others, though they excelled in stealth, infiltration, and intelligence gathering.
Only Thor, who had lived for 1,500 years, had a body that was nearly impervious to most weapons. A missile exploding right next to him probably wouldn't kill him. He was incredibly strong in hand-to-hand combat, could wield his hammer to unleash wide-area Aoe lightning attacks, and had the ability to fly.
In a real fight, Thor would be the toughest opponent Jerry had to face.
However, the Thor he was seeing now seemed different from the one in The Avengers. Could it be because he had lost Mjolnir?
It didn't seem like that was the only reason. Mjolnir was Thor's weapon, but even without it, Thor's inherent strength shouldn't have diminished this much.
Though he had some doubts, Jerry didn't show them.
When Jerry said he could help Thor retrieve his hammer, Thor was overjoyed. He patted Jerry on the shoulder and promised, "That's wonderful! Once I recover Mjolnir and restore my divine power, I will thank you properly!"
He then turned to Jane and added, "And you, Ms. Foster, along with Eric and Daisy, you are all good people!"
Jane was thoroughly confused. Thor was Thor? Thor actually existed? This seemed too absurd.
But then she remembered Jerry's identity and the various Magic he had performed, and her doubts resurfaced.
After finding Thor, the three of them returned to Jane's residence.
"Aren't we supposed to go outside the town?"
Thor was puzzled when they got back to the same place they had been in the morning.
So, Jerry explained the existence of S.H.I.E.L.D. and gave Thor a brief overview of the organization.
"So, you mean I have to get S.H.I.E.L.D.'s approval to retrieve my Mjolnir?"
Thor's expression darkened.
