Chapter 168: Time VS Space 【67】
Chapter 168: Time VS Space 【67】
Obito's words left Kakashi, Rin, and the others stunned.
Feng Ye, on the other hand, observed Obito's state thoughtfully.
It seemed that under Uchiha Madara's various inducements, he had indeed fallen into darkness. There was a curse mark implanted in his heart, and his thoughts seemed partially assimilated, causing him to lose his rationality and logic.
Feng Ye suddenly understood why Obito's strength had increased by more than tenfold after his fall. He had awakened the Kamui Sharingan, considered one of the most powerful abilities, and his body, constructed from Hashirama's cells, granted him the equivalent of the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan.
His chakra had surged due to his bodily changes, and he had also received Madara's teachings, imbued with his ideology, combat experience, and more.
This continued until the Fourth Shinobi World War.
Becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, Obito controlled it with his will, stepping into the Six Paths mode and finally purging himself of Madara's influence.
"Obito, what are you talking about?!"
Rin looked at Obito in astonishment. "Feng Ye saved me..."
"Don't be fooled by him!" Obito interrupted, glaring at Feng Ye. "I saw with my own eyes what he did..."
Rin shook her head. "Obito, you've got it wrong. Feng Ye was just removing the curse mark from my heart. He had no intention of hurting me..." She felt ashamed as she recalled the moment when she, too, had thought Feng Ye intended to kill her, despite his earlier words of trust.
"Those were all lies to deceive you! If you weren't the Jinchuriki of the Three-Tails, you would have died from such an injury, Rin! I will take you away from here!" Obito felt that he could no longer communicate with Rin at this point.
"Wait..." Kakashi finally spoke up, seeing Obito's apparent intention to take Rin away. "I don't know what nonsense you're spouting, but right now, you're the suspicious one, Obito. Why are you still alive? What's going on with your chakra, and what about your eye?" Despite his shock at Obito's identity, Kakashi remained rational, and his words snapped Rin out of her confusion.
Rin eyed Obito warily, taking a couple of steps back. Indeed, as Kakashi had said, there was something amiss with Obito's chakra—it wasn't the familiar one she knew, but rather, dark and unsettling. His overall state was completely off.
"So, you're also..." Obito's face twitched as he saw everyone eyeing him with caution. He turned to Rin, his gaze intense. "Rin, you don't believe me either?!"
"Obito..." Rin looked at him, sensing the dark chakra emanating from him. "Your state is abnormal. What happened to you after that?"
The current Obito was highly suspect! She trusted Obito, but she couldn't bring herself to trust him in his current state. She had been controlled before, and Obito seemed to be under even deeper influence!
"Heh... hehehe..."
The light in Obito Uchiha's eyes faded, replaced by a cold gleam as he swept his gaze over Kakashi and the others.
Just then, Feng Ye, who had been silent until now, spoke up.
"You still have some semblance of rationality left, Obito... Think carefully. Your state is not something that would make Rin or Kakashi trust you, and this has nothing to do with me. You should be clear about that, and what you're saying is just your own conjecture." Feng Ye found Obito's current state peculiar—his self-logic was chaotic and contradictory, as if he were in a state of conflicted darkness.
Was it the influence of the Foreign God?
No, at this point in time, Uchiha Izuna shouldn't have awakened the Mangekyou Sharingan yet. Come to think of it, what was Uchiha Madara's Mangekyou Sharingan ability anyway? It seemed like it was never explicitly stated...
Obito before his fall didn't have any notable flaws; in fact, he was a cheerful and optimistic youth. Feng Ye had never considered pre-fall Obito an enemy. But the post-fall Obito was a different story.
At this moment, Obito seemed to still have a glimmer of hope for redemption.
"Rationality?"
"I've always been rational." Obito spoke slowly, his gaze fixed on Feng Ye. "It seems they've all fallen under your influence and won't trust me. In that case, I have no choice but to take Rin away from here first!"
Whoosh!
As his words trailed off, Obito made his move.
Kakashi swung his sword to block the incoming branches, but the force pushed him back several steps, causing his expression to change slightly.
"So strong... and this power... could it be Wood Release Kekkei Genkai?!'
Wasn't this the legendary power of the First Hokage?
Swish!
In an instant, Feng Ye's figure flickered, appearing right in front of Obito. He reached out and said calmly, "I think you should be the one to stay."
Regardless, since Obito had appeared once more, it was best to keep him here and deal with him accordingly.
Silently, Obito's body passed through Feng Ye, continuing his grasp towards Rin.
But Feng Ye's shadow flickered again, keeping pace with Obito, his hand reaching out to grab him.
He was well aware of the power of Kamui.
It was a capability that allowed one to transfer parts of their body into a different spatial dimension upon contact with another person, essentially isolating oneself in a warped and separated space, immune to physical interaction.
However, this ability had its weaknesses. In the single-eye state, there was a five-minute delay, and while it was unclear for the dual-eye state, it certainly wasn't infinite.
All Feng Ye needed to do was wait for the duration of Obito's Kamui to expire.
Whoosh! Whoosh!!
Due to Feng Ye's influence, Obito was unable to use Kamui to pull Rin away, so he shifted his strategy and engaged Feng Ye directly. However, despite possessing the power of Kamui and having activated his Mangekyo Sharingan, he still found it challenging to clearly capture Feng Ye's movements!
Being unable to predict Feng Ye's actions meant that he could only rely on Kamui's power to defend against Feng Ye's attacks and even escape this situation.
"Such speed... is this the Silver Flash?"
"Indeed, it's a power that shook the ninja world..."
A cold light flashed in the eyes of Uchiha Obito, and countless branches burst forth from his body.
Wood Release: Cutting Technique! Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!!!
Countless branches shot out in all directions.
"I'll block all your escape routes; let's see how you dodge this!"
As long as he created a slight gap and forced Feng Ye to dodge, he could enter the Kamui's alternate space and then use his ability to find an opportunity to take Rin away.
But.
What made Obito's pupils shrink was...
Feng Ye did not dodge his Wood Release attack. The silver light was clearly pierced by the branches, but the branch that touched his body disintegrated upon contact, as if it couldn't break through his physical defense!
He had already unleashed the Time Domain.
Obito possessed the ability to dematerialize with Kamui, allowing him to evade almost any attack, and he also had God Consumption, granting him immunity to most assaults.
This was a battle between time and space capabilities!
"How is this possible...?"
This move was something he had figured out on his own, but he knew it was the Wood Release ability of the First Hokage, Senju Hashirama. The branches themselves had the ability to absorb chakra and possessed tremendous piercing power.
Yet, when this attack touched Feng Ye's body, it disintegrated on its own, as if it couldn't breach his physical defense at all!
"This is bad... My ability won't last much longer..."
Although Obito had just activated his Mangekyo Sharingan, as its possessor, he could sense the limit of his dematerialization drawing near. Feng Ye's relentless attacks left him with no opportunity to use Kamui to escape.
Too strong! Feng Ye's strength was overwhelming!
In this moment, Obito clearly felt the pressure of a power disparity. Despite obtaining the power of the First Hokage and the legendary might of the Uchiha clan, he still couldn't defeat the Silver Flash!
"This won't do..."
Obito gritted his teeth. He hadn't expected that even with such power, he still couldn't beat Feng Ye, and it seemed he couldn't even escape.
And just then...
Poof!
Obito's entire body suddenly turned into white smoke and vanished.
"Hmm?"
Feng Ye frowned, halting his attack.
This wasn't Kamui; that ability didn't allow for such sudden disappearances. But the Obito he had been attacking wasn't an illusion, and Obito hadn't had time to use a substitution or clone technique.
"Flying Thunder God... No, some kind of reverse summoning technique?"
"No wonder they dared to send Obito after me..."
