Chapter 1661: A War Without Victors (Part CXI)
Chapter 1661: A War Without Victors (Part CXI)
As Hermione rushed into the office and eagerly wrapped her arms around him, Albert looked down at the young woman in his embrace. He gently patted her head, then casually hooked his finger at the office door. Hearing the soft click as the door closed, Hermione, who was still in Albert's embrace, was startled. She subconsciously tried to push him away, but found that he was still holding her tightly.
"What's wrong?" Albert asked gently.
"Nothing," Hermione breathed a sigh of relief. "I just thought..."
"That someone might have seen us?" Albert finished with a smile.
"Ugh, hate that."
Hermione buried her face in Albert's chest, then lifted her head after a while and slowly spoke, "I just feel like Hogwarts is becoming so foreign."
"Don't you have any other friends?" Albert asked.
Before he could finish, his mouth was blocked. Hermione had very few friends at school. After most of her peers from her year had graduated from Hogwarts, she had chosen to return to complete her education and felt lonely on her first day back.
That was why Hermione had come to find Albert after the banquet, seeking comfort from one of the few familiar people at the school.
After all, humans were social creatures.
"Have you ever thought about making new friends?" Albert asked as they separated and he pulled her to sit on a chair behind the desk.
"I'll try, but I don't think the probability of making new friends is high," Hermione said as she sat on Albert's lap, letting him hold her while she looked around the Defense Against the Dark Arts office.
"Your office looks terrible," she commented.
"It's what was left to choose from, and since I won't be staying at the school permanently, it doesn't matter," Albert replied. After chatting with Hermione for a while, he indicated for her to get up from his lap, then picked up the briefcase from the desk and held Hermione's hand, leading her to the bedroom next door.
When Albert opened the briefcase and invited her in, Hermione's cheeks turned slightly pink, realizing that he had misunderstood her intentions.
After hesitating for a moment, Hermione still allowed Albert to lead her into the briefcase. In the familiar and cozy environment, her previous uneasiness was soothed, but she couldn't quite understand why she didn't feel the same excitement as before.
"Or do you want to do it in that office?" Albert asked, sounding surprised, though he could understand that women sometimes enjoyed the thrill of doing things in unusual places.
"No, I just came to chat with you!" Hermione replied, though she sounded a bit defensive. She was aware that coming to see Albert at this time might lead to certain activities, and it was understandable that he would misinterpret her intentions.
After all, she was also his mistress.
"If you want to try it, I don't mind," Albert said, not giving Hermione a chance to respond as he pulled her out of the briefcase.
Then, he used his wand to cast various spells on the entire Defense Against the Dark Arts office to ensure they wouldn't be disturbed during their intimate moments.
Although the possibility of interruptions was extremely low, Albert couldn't be too careful. He didn't want strange rumors spreading about him in the school.
Once Albert had finished his preparations, Hermione eagerly moved forward and kissed him passionately, and the atmosphere in the office began to heat up.
The teacher-student dynamic did add a bit of excitement to their encounter.
Especially after Albert had prepared, Hermione ultimately couldn't resist her desires and tried something new in the office.
"Haven't you tried this before? Isabelle wouldn't refuse you, would she?" Hermione asked, straddling Albert and hugging his neck as she breathed slightly heavily.
She could tell that Albert was also enjoying this novel experience.
"No, we have kids at home, house-elves, and pets. Plus, the bed is actually quite comfortable," Albert replied honestly, maintaining his image as a family man.
"Tonight, Isabelle and Katrina will probably complain," Hermione said playfully. "Your mistresses finally left the UK, but now another bad woman has stolen your affections."
"Isabelle won't," Albert said without hesitation. "She doesn't actually have that frequent a need for intimacy; she just thinks I might need a nightlife. But Katrina will probably complain."
"Do you need it?" Hermione asked.
"It's a normal need for men," Albert said softly. "It's also one of the ways for a couple to maintain their relationship. A monotonous life can make love dull, so the couple needs to work together to keep their love alive. You must have noticed that Harry and Ginny's married life is a mess."
Indeed, Ginny's married life was in disarray, especially with Harry working overtime all the time. She had begun to feel confused about her marriage.
"So, that's why Isabelle allows you to have so many mistresses?" Hermione asked.
"Not exactly," Albert sighed. "She feels that I will eventually have mistresses, and it's better to be open about it than to sneak around. She believes that people tend not to cherish things that come too easily, it's human nature."
"What about me? Will you cherish our relationship?" Hermione asked, unsure of her own feelings at the moment.
"As long as you still love me, I will cherish our relationship," Albert replied honestly.
"It seems that not all your mistresses truly love you," Hermione realized the implication of his words.
She had known from the beginning that he was an emotionally driven man.
Albert's behavior also reflected this, and it was probably the main reason why she had been willing to take a risk with him in the first place.
"I have a business relationship with Catherine, and Valeria was just a by-product. She wanted something that was of no use to me, so I just gave it to her," Albert explained.
"Just a by-product?" Hermione said with a strange expression. "She's quite pitiful."
"She's not pitiful at all," Albert said calmly. "Because that's what she wanted."
"What a strange person," Hermione commented.
After a long while, Hermione lay exhausted on Albert's chest, feeling the warmth of his body and the lingering effects of their passionate kisses. She was content and didn't want to move at all.
"Okay, go take a shower and then get some rest. If your roommates notice that you didn't go back to sleep, it'll be troublesome!" Albert glanced at the wall clock and reminded her, "You have one hour left."
"Oh, alright!"
Hermione still had an abnormal blush on her face. After taking Albert's specially made vitality supplement, she bent down to pick up the clothes that had been thrown on the floor, then dragged her heavy steps into the briefcase. She used the odorless shower gel that Albert had prepared in advance and took a shower. By the time she came out, she found that Albert had already cleaned up the messy office, and even the ambiguous atmosphere had been refreshed.
"Let's go!"
Albert opened the door and took Hermione to the fifth-floor bathroom, using a Time-Turner to go back a few hours.
Hermione pretended that she had just returned from using the bathroom and rejoined the group heading to the Gryffindor common room, while Albert went straight home with the help of the house-elves.
"It seems you've just finished your heavy teaching work?" Isabelle closed her book and got up from the sofa, sniffing the strange scent on Albert. "Go take a shower first. I guess Katrina will complain tonight."
