Chapter 166: After-Class Activities
Chapter 166: After-Class Activities (Request for Subscriptions, Favorites, and Votes)
Perhaps because Liam was assigned to the area closest to the entrance and exit, he was the first to reach the assembly point. Since the Sky Pit wasn't very large, it didn't take long for everyone to gather.
After counting everyone, the Leader led the group back to the School. Once they confirmed it was safe, they all deactivated their fusion with their Nature Companions. Liam felt a wave of fatigue wash over him from head to toe the moment he separated.
However, he wasn't the only one experiencing this. Looking around, he saw that his classmates also looked exhausted, with some on the verge of collapsing.
"Alright, that's it for today. Everyone, go back and rest now." With the Leader's final words, everyone transformed into green light and exited the Emerald Dream.
Liam opened his eyes in bed and saw Little Qing listlessly wrapped around his arm. He felt a bit embarrassed, knowing that the fatigue was shared between the owner and the pet.
Following Little Qing's request, Liam sent it back to the Plants vs. Zombies World and allowed it to feast on the Sunlight Crystals stored in the Warehouse. Then, he began meditating to recover his energy.
The next morning, after meditating and fully recovering, Liam had breakfast and headed alone to a broom closet on the second floor of Castrobrusso, where the Keporas resided.
Of course, since this was the Keporas' territory, no one usually came here. As he walked down the corridor, Liam felt some eyes watching him. However, when he tried to find the source of the gaze, he saw nothing.
Standing in the corridor and looking around, Liam was surprised to find that the Keporas had kept their living area and nests very clean, contrary to his expectations. In fact, it was cleaner than the corridors where people frequently passed. It seemed they were just troublemakers who also loved cleanliness.
Reaching the end of the corridor, Liam opened the door to the broom closet. Following his senior's instructions, he placed the Blood Beads on a clean-looking cabinet and then left, closing the door behind him.
As soon as the door closed, Liam heard rustling sounds from inside. Following his senior's advice, he suppressed his curiosity and waited quietly by the door. After about five or six minutes, the sounds gradually subsided. Liam then opened the door and entered the room again.
The Blood Beads were gone, apparently taken by the Keporas. However, they had left some items on the cabinet.
"Let's see what they left. Two White Fresh, a piece of unidentified ore, though I can sense it's a Magical Material, a Dried Snake Gallbladder, and a Clear Palm-Sized Crystal", Liam muttered to himself. "Looks like a decent haul. I guess I'm not a non-EU this time."
Apart from the adventure in the Emerald Dream, the days that followed were somewhat boring, just the usual routine of classes. Thankfully, after the initial adjustment, the Hogwarts exchange students began to adapt to Castrobrusso's teaching style. Being top students, they not only kept up with the classes but also studied the Hogwarts curriculum for their grade on their own.
It was another Friday, the second month of the exchange program. A month and a half of intensive study had left everyone a bit fatigued. So, after class that afternoon, Liam returned to the carriage and, instead of doing his homework as usual, leaned back in his chair and played with a pistol. The pistol was a gift from Desmona, a Liberator Pistol, which he often polished due to its small size, fine craftsmanship, and decent power.
However, when Desmona gave him the gun, she also warned him that as the Federation slowly recovered, many Synths faced rejection from others after revealing their true identities, especially those who had previously lived as natural humans and adults. They were greatly ostracized in various human settlements.
With no other choice, they had to live near the Intelligent Zombie community. But this was only a temporary solution, as two races with completely different needs could coexist for a short time, but long-term issues were inevitable.
Although Liam had suppressed any overtly discriminatory policies, private discrimination against Synths still existed. Desmona knew that Liam possessed abilities that no one else did, so she hoped he could find a good solution.
During this time, Liam often took out the gun to maintain it while thinking about how to resolve the issue.
While cleaning, Liam discovered that a freshly cleaned spell made the process much easier, allowing him to skip the most troublesome step of removing old gun oil. This made it clear that learning some household spells could save a lot of time and energy in daily life.
Just as Liam finished cleaning and was holding the pistol in a shooting stance, a knock came at the door. He quickly stashed the gun back in the Multiverse General Store and opened the door to find Hermione standing there with her Hermes.
"Professor Sprout has informed us to gather in the Common Room", Hermione said from the doorway.
It was already 8:30 PM. What could be happening at this hour? Tomorrow was the weekend, and he hoped nothing would go wrong or that the professor wouldn't assign a lot of tasks.
Fortunately, the news wasn't about a task for tomorrow but about a collective shopping trip and some relaxation. The professor wanted to notify everyone in advance and remind them of the important points to keep in mind.
As everyone knew, any Wizard School was a rare gathering place for wizards in the Wizarding World. This naturally led to the formation of wizard residential areas and commercial districts around the schools, much like Hogsmeade near Hogwarts. Similarly, there was a commercial center called Mahogany Town near Castrobrusso.
Given that this was the Amazon Rainforest, many places were particularly dangerous and inconvenient, even for wizards. In such conditions, people preferred to live together rather than separately. Additionally, the rich resources here attracted many wizards seeking their fortune, making Mahogany Town larger and more prosperous than Hogsmeade.
Today, the professor was mainly there to count who would be going shopping tomorrow to help the school arrange transportation. Unlike Hogwarts, there was no age restriction for visiting Mahogany Town, so the three second-year students were also eligible to go.
Since everyone was interested in Mahogany Town, Professor Sprout, after reminding them of the important points for tomorrow's trip, let them go to bed early.
Back in the compartment, Hermione excitedly took out a book introducing the South American Wizarding World and began planning their itinerary for the next day. Liam could only shrug helplessly at her bookish approach and then hurried back to his dorm to get some sleep, so he wouldn't be tired the next day.
