Chapter 163: The Visit
Chapter 163: The Visit
After breakfast, Li Qian didn't waste any time and returned to the white tower where he was temporarily staying.
Putting on his VR goggles, he continued to review the information related to the Crimson Feather Chicken that Gao Yahxin had organized.
Although he had a bad premonition and knew that these materials would likely offer limited inspiration points, he couldn't afford to skip any potential source of inspiration in his research on pet beast evolution.
So, even though the value of these materials was limited due to the research direction, Li Qian wouldn't give up. He persevered and delved into the content.
Meanwhile, as Li Qian was studying in the Longfeng Cultivation Base, something significant was happening at the same time in Ling Shui City's Prairial Breeding Facility.
"We're here," Li Qi and Mo Wenbin arrived at the Prairial Breeding Facility in Ling Shui City, their hearts filled with excitement as they gazed at the facility's entrance.
In fact, they had arrived the afternoon before, but as it was close to mealtime, they didn't rush to visit.
As security officers from the Jiangnan Public Security Bureau, they had encountered all sorts of people and were not lacking in emotional intelligence. They knew that visiting during mealtime would be inappropriate.
So, they had no choice but to suppress their eagerness and spend the night in Ling Shui City.
The next morning, after a quick bite to eat, they hurried over without delay.
"Officers, who are you here to see?" Seeing the two neatly dressed security officers standing straight before the facility, Zhang Shu immediately stepped out of the guard room and asked.
"Please inform Mr. Li Chengyang that we are here from the Provincial Public Security Bureau," Li Qi spoke politely.
"Alright, officers, please wait a moment," Zhang Shu said without hesitation and returned to the guard room.
He picked up the landline phone in the guard room and called Li Chengyang directly.
The response, of course, was a warm welcome.
In fact, this matter had been anticipated since the strategic partnership agreement with the Jiangnan Public Security Bureau.
The only thing they hadn't expected was the speed at which the other party would arrive. The day after the agreement was reached, they were already here to claim their companion beasts.
"This is great news. The faster they come, the more it proves the allure of the Green Scaled Serpent and the Frostfire Salamander," Han Yuying commented with a smile after learning of this development.
The two officers put down their breakfast and quickly headed towards the entrance.
"Welcome," Li Chengyang greeted them even before they reached the entrance.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Li Chengyang and Han Yuying led the two officers towards the Central Pond.
"Officers, which companion beast are you here to claim, the Green Scaled Serpent or the Frostfire Salamander?" Li Chengyang asked along the way.
"I'm here for the Frostfire Salamander," Li Qi replied without hesitation.
Mo Wenbin also gave his answer, "I'm here for the Green Scaled Serpent."
"My contribution points aren't enough to exchange for the Frostfire Salamander," Mo Wenbin explained, noticing a hint of surprise in Li Qi's eyes.
Li Qi was still puzzled, so he excused himself to discuss with Mo Wenbin, and they walked about fifty meters away.
"Brother, I can lend you some contribution points!" Li Qi offered as they moved away.
Mo Wenbin thanked him, but firmly stated, "Thank you, brother, but I truly believe the Green Scaled Serpent is the right choice for me."
"The Green Scaled Serpent has the potential of a Tyrant Fifth Rank, and even with resource stacking, it can only reach a Tyrant Ninth Rank. Breaking through to the Imperial Rank is almost impossible," Li Qi explained, looking at his good friend. "But the Frostfire Salamander is different. It has the potential of a Tyrant Ninth Rank, and with sufficient investment, there's a possibility of breaking through the racial potential limit and reaching the Imperial Rank."
Lowering his voice, he added, "And let's not mention the rumors you might not have heard. The Frostfire Salamander has the potential to evolve into an Icefire Dragon, a Holy Spirit Rank companion beast!"
Mo Wenbin was tempted, but he shook his head and firmly replied, "Thank you, brother. I trust my instincts."
"Alright, I believe you've given this decision careful thought," Li Qi sighed.
Mo Wenbin patted Li Qi's shoulder, grateful for his friend's advice. He knew that Li Qi's words came from a place of genuine concern.
"Let's go, brother. We shouldn't keep our hosts waiting," Mo Wenbin smiled and took the lead, heading towards Li Chengyang and Han Yuying's powers.
As they continued on their journey, Li Chengyang reminded them, "Officers, please present your claim certificates. You're also aware of the rules of our breeding facility."
"To take these companion beasts with you, you must earn their recognition and consent."
Li Chengyang's meaning was clear: they wouldn't force the companion beasts to leave.
Li Qi nodded, "Breeder Li Qian has already emphasized this point to us."
"We will definitely abide by the rules. If we can't even gain their trust, we don't deserve the Green Scaled Serpent or the Frostfire Salamander," Li Qi said confidently, glancing at Mo Wenbin, who mirrored his confidence.
"Since you're both aware, let's begin," Han Yuying smiled and called out, "A-Fu, bring them over!"
As she spoke, she had already given the command to A-Fu, who was resting in the Central Pond, through their soul contract.
