Approximately forty Kirigakure ninja from the ANBU unit were escorting Rin towards Konoha.

A torrent of water, like a fierce dragon, surged towards them, forcibly separating Kakashi and Rin to either side, preventing them from reuniting.
The nearby Kirigakure ninjas also joined the fray.
"This is no good... we can't escape like this..."
Rin clenched her teeth. Thinking about the Three-Tails sealed within her, which she couldn't control and that posed a constant risk of rampaging, along with the seal on her heart, she steeled herself.
Chakra erupted unrestrainedly from her body, and she charged headlong into the Water Dragon Bullet, shattering it with the portion of the Three-Tails' chakra that had leaked out.
