Chapter 1624: A War with No Victors (Seventy-Four)
Chapter 1624: A War with No Victors (Seventy-Four)
When Albert opened his eyes again, his head was throbbing painfully, and the feeling of being drunk was truly unpleasant. This was the first time he had gotten himself into such a state.
He raised his hand to his forehead and scanned the unfamiliar living room he found himself in. It seemed something was pressing on his chest. It was Valerie's cheek; the voluptuous girl was hugging him tightly, her body almost squished against his.
Finally recalling the series of absurd events from the previous night, Albert struggled to prop himself up. His gaze lingered momentarily on the mature and alluring Catherine to his right before he quickly averted his eyes. For some reason, he felt no desire.
Not far from where he lay, Louise was curled up on a chaise lounge.
"Are you awake?"
A familiar voice suddenly rang in his ear, and Albert raised his hand to shield his eyes from the glare of the sun as he looked towards the familiar figure sitting by the window in an armchair, reading.
Before Albert could say anything, Valerie, who had been holding onto him tightly, was finally roused from her sleep. She opened her eyes groggily, yawned, and then instinctively tried to snuggle into Albert's embrace, as if seeking comfort in his arms.
"Perhaps you should sleep a little longer."
A glass of juice was offered to Albert's lips, but he waved it away.
"Lunch is ready. Are they awake yet?"
The door to the living room opened again, and Katrina walked in. She scanned the messy living room and suggested to Albert with a wink, "You look tired. Why don't you rest a bit longer, and we can have lunch later?"
No need.
With the sound of their voices, the sleeping girls in the living room finally woke up.
Catherine shook her head to clear her grogginess, and Louise, who had been curled up on the chaise lounge, opened her eyes and sat up.
The gazes of the group intersected in the room, but strangely, there was silence. No exclamations or words were spoken.
Louise walked behind Albert and wrapped her arms around him from behind, resting her full weight on his body as if she could only feel secure by his side.
Catherine, equally exhausted, looked at the trio embracing each other and then joined them without a second thought, pushing them down onto the carpet and lying on top of Albert.
Seeing Albert surrounded by the three girls, Isabelle smiled and suggested, "Why don't you all take a hot bath first, and after lunch, you can take a nap?"
The bathtub in the mansion, enlarged by the Undetectable Extension Charm, was spacious enough to accommodate six people bathing together.
Unfortunately, everyone looked too tired to be in the mood for anything.
After their bath, Isabelle used a towel to dry Albert off and asked with a smile, "How do you feel?"
"Tired," Albert admitted honestly; he was indeed exhausted.
Isabelle kissed his cheek and asked, "And besides that?"
"I can't remember," Albert mumbled. "I really shouldn't have drunk so much. Being drunk feels terrible." He snuggled into Isabelle's arms, wanting nothing more than to fall asleep right there.
Isabelle caressed his head like one would a child and said, "Let's eat something first to replenish your energy."
After donning a bathrobe and hastily consuming some easily digestible food prepared by the house-elves, Albert returned to bed to catch up on his sleep.
This time, none of the girls disturbed his rest.
The other girls also retired to their rooms to rest after lunch.
When Albert woke up again, it was already dark outside.
He stretched and yawned lazily, as if shaking off most of the fatigue from the previous night's revelry.
After changing into fresh clothes, Albert headed out to get something to eat. As he passed by the living room, he heard the silvery laughter of the girls within. When he pushed open the door and entered, the girls, dressed in revealing outfits, were sitting together chatting. Upon spotting Albert, they rose to greet him with kisses before pulling him to sit among them.
"Let's eat dinner first. You must be hungry," Isabelle said.
She had already instructed the house-elves to prepare a sumptuous dinner for Albert, including freshly shucked oysters, perfectly cooked steak slices, stir-fried pork kidneys, steamed and oil-drenched shrimp, and a white soup made from a large fish head. It was a feast of rich and hearty dishes, although...
"Won't you join us?" Albert asked, looking at the group of girls before him with a puzzled expression.
"We've already eaten," Isabelle explained.
"Then... I won't be able to finish all of this, and it'll go to waste," Albert said, raising an eyebrow.
"It won't go to waste," Isabelle assured him, seemingly having anticipated this situation and already devised a solution. "Just pick what you like, and the house-elves can take care of the rest."
Although Albert would specifically ask the house-elves to prepare extra portions for him, they didn't mind helping to finish the leftovers from the feast.
Albert ate quickly and elegantly, serving himself from each dish except for the oysters.
However, this...
Albert felt speechless as he looked at the steamed buns shaped into hearts and made with black beans, yam, walnuts, and sesame paste. Undeniably, he had exhausted himself the previous night and needed to replenish his energy, but this was a bit much.
"What were you girls talking about just now?" Albert asked as he wiped his mouth with a handkerchief and waved his wand at the table, clearing the dishes with a soft whoosh.
"It was a girls-only topic," Louise replied, her cheeks tinged with a hint of pink. She never expected that Catherine and Valerie would be so open about their experiences, and they even offered her suggestions to help with potential future issues.
"Including last night's events," Valerie added nonchalantly, reaching out to caress Albert, only to have her hand swatted away.
"We talked about a lot of things," Isabelle smiled as she recalled their earlier conversation. "We discussed beauty potions, the opening of a witch's beauty shop, vacationing in Britain, last night's events, and future plans."
"Louise wants to have a baby. Her family situation is similar to ours," Isabelle paused, then continued, "When you're feeling better, spend some time with her first."
"Catherine also shared her first time with us," she said, meeting Albert's gaze.
Catherine showed no hint of embarrassment as she looked back at him and said, "To be honest, I don't really remember how it felt back then, but it wasn't very comfortable. However, your skills have improved significantly, and we have Isabelle to thank for sharing you with us."
