Chapter 160: Knockturn Alley is home to the most evil Dark Wizards!
Visit Knockturn Alley?
Ivan watched as George and Fred’s death-wish spirit burned brightly, and he opened his mouth to refuse, but faster than him was Mrs. Weasley’s angry shout!
“How can you even think of such a thing?”
From a distance, Mrs. Weasley had heard George and Fred’s reckless words, so she immediately smacked both of them on the head, furious.
“Knockturn Alley is the most dangerous place in the entire magical world! It’s full of the most evil Dark Wizards!”
“Mom, how can you say that? Ivan lives in Knockturn Alley,” George said, holding his head but still speaking in protest.
Only then did Mrs. Weasley notice that Ivan was also there, and she became flustered, stammering, “Oh, I’m sorry, dear, I didn’t mean it like that.”
“It’s fine,” Ivan shook his head, indicating that he didn’t mind. He then turned to George and the Weasleys and said, “Mrs. Weasley is right. Knockturn Alley is very dangerous and not a place you can just visit casually.”
The two were half-convinced, but Ivan’s refusal made it hard for them to ask more about Knockturn Alley.
However, George soon thought of something and pulled out the folded Daily Prophet from his pocket, excitedly showing it to Ivan.
“Ivan, this morning we saw in the newspaper that you developed the Wolfsbane Potion. There’s even a photo of you with the Minister of Magic! Is that true? We told Mom you’d definitely get the Order of Merlin, but she wouldn’t believe us!”
Hearing George’s words, everyone’s attention turned to Ivan, eager to know if it was true.
Under everyone’s gaze, Ivan casually nodded and said, “Yes, because of the development of the Wolfsbane Potion, I’ve been nominated for the Order of Merlin. Professor Dumbledore is willing to be my nominator.”
“That’s fantastic!” George said excitedly. With Dumbledore as his nominator, Ivan’s chances of receiving the Order of Merlin were almost guaranteed.
Fred turned to Mrs. Weasley and said, “Mom, we told you Ivan would make it!”
“I heard you,” Mrs. Weasley rolled her eyes, not in the best mood.
She had no issue with Ivan; it was just that George and Fred often used Ivan’s name to justify their research into their chaotic joke toys, which led to arguments.
“The Order of Merlin, what is that?” Mr. Granger, Hermione’s father, who was standing nearby, was thoroughly confused and couldn’t help but ask.
“It’s an award in the magical world, the highest honor! Every recipient has made outstanding contributions to the magical world!” Arthur explained, then looked at Ivan with admiration and continued.
“Hals’ potion solved the problem of Werewolf rampages that had been troubling the magical world, which is why he was nominated for the Order of Merlin.”
“Is it like the Nobel Prize in our world? That’s truly remarkable!” Mr. Granger looked at Ivan, who was about the same age as his daughter, and was astonished.
“The Nobel Prize? What’s that?” This time, it was the Weasleys who were confused.
It was clear that the gap between wizards and Muggles was significant, but with Hermione as the mediator, a quick explanation soon clarified things for everyone.
"Well, I suppose that's about right." Although Arthur believed that the Muggle awards couldn't compare to those in the wizarding world, they did share some similarities in nature.
"Ivan, I never expected you to be working on something so important during the summer. I misunderstood you before." Hermione turned to look at Ivan, a bit embarrassed.
Since she hadn't read the newspaper that day, Hermione had no idea that Ivan had accomplished something so significant.
She assumed that Ivan must have been busy researching the Wolfsbane Potion, which is why he didn't have time to write to her.
Hermione had read about Werewolves in books; they were vicious creatures who lost their minds during the full moon, transforming into monsters and attacking innocent people.
Ivan immediately nodded along with Hermione's thoughts, indicating that he was indeed someone who worked tirelessly for the peace of the magical world.
The group laughed and chatted as they walked together to Flourish and Blotts.
On the way, George and Fred tried to talk to Ivan about opening a joke shop next year, but unfortunately, Mrs. Weasley kept a close eye on them and didn't allow them to discuss such mischief.
To Ivan's surprise, Arthur actually initiated a conversation with him and even asked about his family.
Ivan responded briefly and then asked curiously, "Do you know my mother?"
"Hmm, not really", Arthur hesitated for a moment before continuing. "But I did have some interactions with your father."
"My father? Could you tell me who he is? My mother never talks about him." Ivan perked up, eager to know more.
Although Ivan was an imposter who had crossed over, he couldn't help but feel curious about his father, despite not having much concern for him.
"Aisia couldn't do that! She kept it from you for over a decade because of that incident!" Mrs. Weasley realized who Ivan's child was and looked at him with a mix of shock and disbelief.
"Did my father do something wrong?" Ivan frowned, feeling that the situation was getting complicated.
"No, no, not at all!" Mrs. Weasley emphasized, her gaze softening with pity. "Don't think that, dear. Your father never did anything wrong; he was a hero!"
"Mrs. Weasley, could you tell me more?" Ivan felt even more puzzled. If that was the case, there was no reason for Aisia to keep it from him.
"Of course", Mrs. Weasley was about to speak, but Arthur quickly interrupted.
"Molly! That's not something we should be telling him!"
Arthur then looked at Ivan apologetically. "If you want to know more, I suggest you ask your mother, Aisia, or you could ask Dumbledore when you get to school. They know the full story."
Ivan rolled his eyes. If Aisia was willing to talk, he wouldn't need to ask anyone else.
As for asking Dumbledore?
Ivan hadn't even considered it.
He had too many secrets, and he wasn't sure who would be asking whom. Ivan wanted to stay as far away from Dumbledore as possible until he had mastered Occlumency to at least the sixth or seventh level.
