Chapter 160: Go and See It!
Chapter 160: Go and See It!
Naoki: "???"
Staring at the screen, Naoki was dumbfounded by the sight of a massive Aerodactyl towering over the boundless ocean like Godzilla.
At that moment, Naoki felt a bewilderment like never before.
What was going on?
It was common knowledge that there was only one gigantic Aerodactyl in the Pokemon world.
Throughout the entire anime series, it had only appeared once, during the Indigo League saga at the Lighthouse in Pallet Town.
There, Ash had used its cries to lure the massive Aerodactyl, thinking it was calling out to its companions. However, after destroying the lighthouse, it vanished into the sea, never to be seen again... until now.
And now, it had appeared in the Partea region! Could this be the same Aerodactyl?
If so, why had it traveled across half the planet, from the Kanto region to the distant Partea region? And why had it caused such a ruckus, even attracting the attention of the Partea League, who had sent out a figure as important as the Champion?
Naoki was filled with questions.
He had initially thought that this incident had nothing to do with him.
But suddenly, as if he had realized something, he jumped up, ran to the drawer where he kept the postcards Babybear and Mew had sent him, and pulled out the most recent one.
On the card, a clear image depicted a lighthouse, an Aerodactyl, the sea, and a Krabby.
Wait a minute!
Naoki's eyes widened as an incredible thought popped into his head.
Could this gigantic Aerodactyl have been lured here by Babybear and Mew?
So, had he misinterpreted their message yesterday?
Perhaps they hadn't encountered an ordinary Aerodactyl but had coincidentally come across the massive one loitering near Ash's lighthouse! This realization left Naoki stunned.
"This is too outrageous..."
How dare Babybear do such a thing! It had somehow lured the gigantic Aerodactyl to the Partea region, apparently in search of him and its own kind. But he couldn't afford to keep such a massive creature!
His ranch would be destroyed, wouldn't it?! Naoki felt overwhelmed.
However, he quickly calmed down, reassuring himself, "Maybe it's not here for me."
After all, he couldn't think of any reason why the Aerodactyl would be looking for him.
After pondering for a moment, he decided to stay put and observe the situation first.
If he went there and found out the Aerodactyl wasn't looking for him, things would become awkward.
After finishing his breakfast, Naoki headed to the Salt House to check on Turtwig's progress.
When he arrived, he was astonished to find that the entire Salt House had undergone a drastic transformation.
This Turtwig seemed to have a natural talent for architecture. The original floor had been dug up, and the excess soil formed a cave-like structure.
The cave had a downward-sloping passage, which piqued Naoki's curiosity, and he stepped inside.
The passage wasn't too steep or narrow; even three people could walk side by side comfortably. It was spacious enough to accommodate the Salt Golems with ease.
As he continued, it took him about three minutes to traverse the passage, and when he emerged, he found himself in a vast open space.
Naoki was shocked by the sight that greeted him.
In just one night, Turtwig had dug out an enormous cavern!
The cavern was incredibly spacious, with sturdy pillars of earth supporting the ceiling at regular intervals. Naoki guessed that these pillars were meant to prevent the ceiling from collapsing.
Additionally, there was a small underground lake in one corner; he couldn't tell if it had been there originally or if Turtwig had dug it out specifically.
Naoki was amazed; it was indeed one of Cri's Pokemon.
This place was so huge that it could easily accommodate not just five Salt Golems but even ten or more!
He explored the cavern, eventually finding Turtwig fast asleep in a corner.
Hearing Naoki's footsteps, Turtwig opened its sleepy eyes.
Naoki couldn't help but laugh at the sight, exclaiming, "You're amazing!"
He placed the prepared food and juice in front of Turtwig.
He envisioned adding Pokemon like Tyrogue, Diglett, Claydol, and Rhinoceros to enrich the ecosystem of his ranch and indulge his collecting hobby.
With time to spare, Naoki began milking his riding goat, and together with Gurdurr, they moved the full milk buckets aside. He then took out two bottles and handed them to Dragonite to deliver the fresh milk.
After completing this task, Naoki visited the beehives and collected half of the sweet honey produced by his Combee. He carefully stored the honey, intending to use it later to make refreshing honey lemonade.
On a scorching summer day, there was nothing more delightful than a chilled glass of honey lemonade.
Once all the morning chores were done, it was already 9 am.
Kishu arrived at the ranch, seemingly expecting the outcome of Dugtrio's hard work. With a smile, she asked, "So, are you satisfied?"
Naoki nodded vigorously, "Yes, I'm extremely satisfied! Your Dugtrio is incredible!"
Kishu smiled faintly, "Dugtrio has always been a hardworking Pokemon. It's been learning construction alongside me for seven years now."
Naoki exclaimed, "Seven years... no wonder."
"Since the job is done, I'll take Dugtrio back now," Kishu said.
Naoki nodded, "It's sleeping downstairs."
Understandingly, Kishu entered the underground cave alone and recalled the sleeping Dugtrio into its Poke Ball.
"I have to head to another ranch for work. See you later!" Kishu waved goodbye.
"Yeah, see you," Naoki replied, watching her figure disappear from view. He stretched his arms and body, having finished his morning tasks, and now with free time at his disposal.
He then playfully teased the aloof Glaceon, only stopping when he saw the embarrassed look on its face as it scurried back into its ice cave.
As an apology, Naoki took a large bucket of cream ice slush from the refrigerator and placed it in the ice house for Glaceon to enjoy slowly.
With the ice house's low temperature and the presence of natural ice stones, he didn't have to worry about the ice cream melting.
At noon, after finishing lunch, Naoki eagerly sought any news about the colossal Dragonite.
He turned on the television and switched to the news channel, and as expected, he saw footage of the colossal Dragonite.
It seemed that the Partea League intended to find the colossal Dragonite's companions by running a 24-hour news broadcast.
Watching the colossal Dragonite on the screen, Naoki's mind began to stir with questions.
No one had gone to investigate yet, and he wondered if the colossal Dragonite was truly looking for him. But why? He wasn't its companion.
Naoki's thoughts raced.
Soon, he realized something significant.
If the colossal Dragonite had indeed been lured by Mew and Babybear, its purpose was likely to find another Dragonite, just like itself!
Babybear had only seen one Dragonite—the one working as a milk delivery dragon on Naoki's ranch.
So, upon encountering the colossal Dragonite, it mistook it for a companion and shared the news of seeing the milk delivery Dragonite.
Driven by its desire to find its companions, the colossal Dragonite traveled far and wide to reach the Partea region.
Thus, the colossal Dragonite's true intention was not to find Naoki but to find Dragonite!
"Could this really be the case?" Naoki wondered, deep in thought.
If so, he felt compelled to go and investigate.
