Chapter 16: The Forum Storm
Chapter 16: The Forum Storm
As soon as Su Yu entered the official forum, he saw a prominently displayed, bold, and red-pinned post titled "1v100! Mysterious Player Sweeps Tyrant Heaven Guild, Ending Leaves Much to Ponder."
Opening the post, Su Yu watched a detailed third-person video of the "Tyrant Heaven" guild extorting entry fees at the village entrance, leading to a conflict with regular players, and ultimately being massacred.
The player who posted the video was considerate, providing a thorough and detailed account of the events leading up to the incident.
At the end of the post, the player urged, "The Tyrant Heaven guild's lawlessness has reached an intolerable level! They dared to block the village entrance and charge fees right after the server opened. What will they do next? Will they monopolize game resources?"
"We must stand up and resist the Tyrant Heaven guild! They must apologize! They must compensate the players who have suffered losses!"
The post, which had been released just twenty minutes ago, instantly ignited the official forum.
A flood of player replies expressed support:
"Support! We cannot allow large guilds to act with impunity!"
"Firsthand witness here, the Tyrant Heaven guild is truly despicable!"
"To treat regular players this way for a little bit of profit, such a guild must be expelled from the game!"
"My friend just became a reserve member of the Tyrant Heaven guild and was boasting about it. I'm going to pull him out now! I want to distance myself from these scoundrels!"
"But that 1v100 guy is amazing! Even with the NPC buffs, though."
"Even with the buffs, I wouldn't dare to offend a large guild like Tyrant Heaven!"
Players were discussing heatedly.
In just twenty minutes, the video post had garnered thousands of replies.
Su Yu scrolled through the comments and noticed that only a small portion were from real players. Most were ordinary internet users who couldn't afford the game helmet but still flooded the forum.
However, this didn't stop the widespread condemnation of the Tyrant Heaven guild.
Soon, the entire forum was filled with posts criticizing the guild.
The forum moderators, not shying away from the controversy, pinned the video post and highlighted it in bold and red.
...
The forum was a sea of curses.
However, when Su Yu looked at the top posts, he noticed that members of the Tyrant Heaven guild had arrived in force, and many began to debunk the rumors:
"Wait a moment, everyone might be mistaken! The people charging fees in the video are not members of the Tyrant Heaven guild!"
"I am a member of the Tyrant Heaven guild and a leader of an elite team. I have never heard of anyone in our guild doing such a thing!"
"That's right! The Tyrant Heaven guild values its reputation. Those who have played 'Magic Domain' should know that we always strive to maintain a healthy game environment. How could we possibly do such despicable things?"
"I've played 'Magic Domain,' and I can vouch that Tyrant Heaven is a legitimate guild."
"Someone must be impersonating us."
Tyrant Heaven guild members quickly flooded the forum with debunking posts.
These posts were effective, and many onlookers began to believe their claims, stopping their criticism of the Tyrant Heaven guild and quietly waiting for further developments.
If the Tyrant Heaven guild provided decisive evidence, the entire incident would likely be quelled soon.
Meanwhile, Su Yu had finished his takeout.
He let out a light sigh, "That old fox, Slashing Heaven, still has a few tricks up his sleeve! At this rate, he'll smooth things over quickly."
"No, I can't let them get off that easily. I need to come up with a plan. Got it!"
Su Yu's eyes sparkled with a newfound idea.
He took out his phone and nodded. "It's been half an hour. Crimson Eye Black Dragon should be online by now. I'll contact him."
Su Yu put on his game helmet and logged into the game.
Nolan Village Cemetery.
A bright light flashed, and Crimson Eye Black Dragon, along with dozens of Imperial Blood Guild members, respawned.
The first thing Crimson Eye Black Dragon did after logging in was to check his death log.
Seeing the name of the person who killed him, he couldn't help but exclaim, "Damn! It was 'Nemesis'! He actually killed us!"
Behind him stood the other three core members of the Imperial Blood Guild: Titan Warrior, Sky Dragon, and Winged God Dragon.
Titan Warrior was a young man with a cold expression. He looked at the death log and his face turned grim. "It seems we were killed by the expert who took down the Level 4 boss. We died without any regrets."
Sky Dragon was a cute red-haired girl. She looked puzzled. "No way! I saw a video on the forum earlier. He only managed to kill us because he got a buff from a high-level NPC!"
"These are all lies!" Winged God Dragon, a golden-haired woman, said, smoothing her hair. "The time between Nemesis killing the Level 4 boss and us is about two and a half hours. Even a high-level NPC couldn't give him a buff that lasts that long. The only answer is that Nemesis really does have the power to take us down in seconds!"
"He just got lucky!" Crimson Eye Black Dragon sneered. "Right now, everyone's level is low. Once we level up and get better gear, I'll show Nemesis what real cruelty looks like!"
"Alright, time is precious. We've already wasted half an hour. We can't afford to waste any more. Let's go level up."
Crimson Eye Black Dragon waved his hand and led the guild members out of the cemetery.
...
But before he had taken a few steps, a system notification popped up: "Ding! Player 'Nemesis' has requested to add you as a friend."
Crimson Eye Black Dragon's face froze, and he stopped in his tracks.
Noticing that Crimson Eye Black Dragon had stopped, Winged God Dragon and the other core members turned to look at him. "Crimson, what's wrong?"
"It's Nemesis. He actually added me as a friend!"
Crimson Eye Black Dragon stared at the word "Nemesis" in the system message, his eyes almost bleeding from the intensity.
"Ha! Didn't you say you wanted to show him what real cruelty looks like? Show him!" Winged God Dragon urged.
"Exactly! Uncle Crimson, you can't back down now!" Sky Dragon chimed in with an innocent smile.
"Fine." Crimson Eye Black Dragon thought for a moment and clicked the "Accept" button.
But as soon as he accepted, he started typing at lightning speed, his fingers moving faster than they had in years:
"Nemesis! It's an honor to have you as a friend! I'm very sorry for the trouble my brothers and I caused you earlier. I hope you can forgive us!"
Sky Dragon and Winged God Dragon were almost stunned by what they saw.
"Crimson? Is this what you call cruelty?"
"Uncle Crimson? Can you be any more submissive?"
Crimson Eye Black Dragon, with a black line running down his face, waved them off. "Go away! What do little girls know!"
Then he turned his back and stared intently at the private message interface, waiting for Nemesis's reply.
