Chapter 16: All Eliminated
Chapter 16: All Eliminated
The robber was stunned, but Jerry wasn’t. Leveraging the enhancements from his Superhuman State, he quickly charged toward the last robber.
This final robber also snapped out of his shock. If he didn’t counterattack soon, he would likely end up like the other three.
So, the robber immediately discarded his useless rifle and raised his hand to draw the pistol from his waist.
Jerry wouldn’t let him. He leaped forward, delivering a powerful knee strike straight to the last robber’s groin.
The robber’s eyes widened in terror. He dared not draw his gun and quickly used both hands to protect himself.
However, he underestimated Jerry’s strength.
In his Superhuman State, Jerry was far stronger than the robber. The knee strike, delivered with full force, was unstoppable. Even though the robber managed to block with his hands, the sheer power of the blow still sent a shockwave through his body, striking him in the most sensitive area.
He bent over like a shrimp, gasping for air, clearly in excruciating pain.
After the successful knee strike, Jerry didn’t hesitate. Guided by his enhanced brain, his arms pushed off the robber’s shoulders, and his body launched into the air, landing atop the robber’s head.
His legs coiled around the robber’s neck like a python, and his muscles contracted with all their might, twisting with the force of unscrewing a bottle cap.
“Crack!”
The last robber’s head snapped 180 degrees, and he was dead.
Jerry leaped down, surveyed the area to ensure there was no danger, and then deactivated his Superhuman State, turning off the Brain Booster.
“Phew~ What a rush!”
The brief two to three-minute fight had been a strain on his brain, but he only felt a moment of dizziness before recovering.
However, the intense physical exertion over those few minutes had left his muscles feeling as if he hadn’t run in years and had suddenly completed a five-kilometer sprint.
It was the same feeling he had the morning after such a run.
But to be honest, the experience in his Superhuman State was truly incredible.
Before activating it, his combat skills were at an amateur level. After, they instantly soared to the top tier.
After a brief rest to recover, Jerry approached the robber he had stabbed with his dagger, pulled it out, and then walked over to the unconscious leader, Smith.
Without any hesitation, he plunged the dagger deep into the robber leader’s chest.
A weed that isn’t uprooted will grow again. Faced with these robbers, who had clearly taken more than one life, he couldn’t afford to be soft.
Besides, the leader had likely seen his face during the smoke, making him too dangerous to leave alive.
This was Jerry’s first time killing, but apart from a slight feeling of nausea, he didn’t feel much discomfort. Perhaps it was because he had already died once, in a truck accident.
So, death didn’t scare him as much as he had imagined.
“Definitely not the same level. This was worth it!”
Opening the peculiar Panel, Jerry saw his Little Red Stars skyrocket to two thousand, and a look of delight spread across his face.
Two thousand Little Red Stars—enough to match what he would have earned from two to three years of good deeds.
And he had earned them all in one go!
It seemed that helping with the trash and assisting grandmothers across the street paled in comparison to taking down four armed bank robbers who had hijacked a school bus.
Although he had earned two thousand Little Red Stars, Jerry didn’t immediately enter Harry Potter’s Mini-World.
Every time he exits the Mini World, there is a cooldown period during which he cannot re-enter, even if he has enough Little Red Stars.
Furthermore, after the initial trial period, he would need to consume a hundred Little Red Stars each day to enter the Mini World. Two thousand Little Red Stars, which seems like a lot, would only last him twenty days.
Moreover, while learning magic at Hogwarts, the acceleration function provided by Little Red Stars would undoubtedly be essential.
Therefore, he needed to consider how to earn more Little Red Stars to meet his future needs.
Closing the peculiar Panel, Jerry slowly made his way to the center of the warehouse.
In the middle of the warehouse, on the table, were bottles of beer and a large bag containing what looked to be a million dollars in cash.
Due to the recent battle, many of the bills had scattered across the floor.
Jerry picked up about eight or nine of them and muttered to himself, "Helping you recover over a million dollars, taking seven or eight hundred isn't too much, right? It'll be perfect for buying Elsa her favorite Snow Princess doll!"
After all, Jerry was just an eleven-year-old in this world, and his father wouldn't give him much pocket money.
Usually, he would get a bit from classmates who liked to cause trouble.
He was very skilled at fighting back, but since they were all elementary school kids, they didn't have much money either.
Seven or eight hundred dollars wasn't much, and the bank wouldn't go to great lengths over a few hundred bucks.
"Alright, now I just need to wait for the police to arrive!"
Feeling his magic had recovered somewhat, he used the Restoration Charm to turn the dagger back into a chair leg. He then returned to the room where he had been held, used a Locking Charm to secure the wooden door, and began to lie on the bed, resting his eyes.
"By the way, I hope the police don't have trouble finding this place. They shouldn't, considering how loud those gunshots were!"
In fact, not long after Jerry lay down, a man in a gold-and-red mechanical suit appeared above the warehouse.
Let's go back about an hour.
Inside Tony Stark's massive mansion.
"Sir, there's a bank robbery in Queens. The robbers have taken a school bus full of elementary school students and have evaded the police", Jarvis reported.
Tony, who was studying the Mark V briefcase-sized portable armor, put down his blueprints and slowly walked to the armor donning platform.
"Perfect, a little outing to clear my head and spark some inspiration!"
Since he had publicly revealed his identity a few days ago, he had been trying to create a more portable armor to handle emergencies. Shrinking a large suit down to the size of a suitcase was no easy task.
Standing on the armor donning platform, the Mark IV armor quickly covered Tony's body under the control of the AI, Jarvis.
The Mark Iii had been severely damaged during the battle with Iron Monger and was temporarily out of commission, so Tony had created the Mark IV as a replacement.
The Mark IV had essentially the same functions as the Mark Iii, with only minor adjustments to the design.
Activating the thrusters on the armor, Tony piloted the Mark IV at a speed no less than that of a fighter jet, heading in the direction the robbers had fled.
