Chapter 1590: A War Without Victors (Forty)
Chapter 1590: A War Without Victors (Forty)
Albert stood outside the illuminated bathroom, his expression complex as he hesitated for a moment before knocking lightly on the door and turning the handle to enter.
Katrina, who had just undressed, quickly immersed herself in the large bathtub filled with warm water upon hearing the knock.
As Albert pushed open the bathroom door, only Katrina's head remained above the tub. She seemed to be thinking about something, a flush quickly spreading across her cheeks, but overall, she remained calm, evidently having steeled herself beforehand.
Albert silently removed his clothes, preparing to join Katrina in the bath. Suddenly, he heard the sound of water sloshing over the bathtub's edge as Katrina abruptly stood up. Her skin seemed to glow with a tempting blush, likely due to her embarrassment.
At that moment, Katrina felt her entire body stiffen, her mind going blank as Izabel's instructions rang in her head. She rushed forward, attempting to embrace Albert without reservation.
Katrina's tension and confusion left her flustered and off-balance, but fortunately, Albert reacted in time to catch her before she fell.
In that instant, Albert felt as though he was holding not a person but a rigid, warm stone.
He recalled his first time with Izabel, when she, too, had been unable to relax.
This was quite normal.
In fact, Katrina was already doing much better than most girls.
As Albert looked down at the girl in his arms, he met Katrina's intense gaze. Before he could say anything, she wrapped her arms around his neck and captured his lips in a kiss.
The girl's body pressed fully against Albert's, and the sensation of her soft, smooth, and supple skin compelled him to reach out and pull her slender waist closer, eager to feel the full extent of her passionate affection.
If there was anything missing, it was only that they weren't in a bed, and Katrina's technique with the tongue kiss was rather unskilled.
Just as Izabel had said, she had taught Katrina how to be a qualified partner, but only in theory, so she wouldn't be completely clueless.
As Katrina's heartbeat quickened, she instinctively closed her eyes, reveling in the sweet and captivating kiss, surrendering herself entirely to the man before her.
However, Albert clearly had no intention of taking things further in the bathtub, as he didn't want to give Katrina a bad first experience.
After an indeterminate amount of time, when Katrina's breathing became rapid, the passionately kissing couple finally separated.
Albert lifted the softened Katrina, who was half-hanging onto him, and settled into the bathtub with her in his arms.
He had done this many times before, but with Izabel as the object of his affection.
"Izabel taught me," Katrina said in a gentle voice as she adjusted herself to a comfortable position, leaning fully against Albert. "She always told me to relax."
"You're doing great for a first time. Everyone's nervous their first time, even Izabel," Albert reassured her, his fingers dancing across her smooth, white skin and planting a kiss on her sensitive earlobe. "Just relax your body, and you'll feel better."
"What about Hermione Granger?" Katrina asked.
"She was bold and wild, taking the initiative," Albert replied.
He felt it was time to end the topic, knowing that bringing up other girls while being intimate was never a good choice.
"I admit I lost to her there. Gryffindors never lack courage," Katrina conceded.
Izabel had always advised Katrina to be more proactive, but the soft and pliable girl lacked the energy to move, becoming like a puppet in Albert's embrace.
However, she didn't dislike this feeling, as Albert was incredibly gentle with her.
"There was a time when I really resented Izabel," Katrina murmured softly. "I realized how much I liked you, but she had already won you over."
"That's just how love is," Albert mused, a hint of self-mockery in his voice as he recalled a phrase from his previous life. "Truly exceptional men are always in short supply."
"A scarce commodity? I think 'treasure' is more fitting."
Katrina reached out and gently caressed Albert's handsome face, thinking of the girls who were still unwilling to give up. "I just never expected my sister to allow her man to be shared with other women."
"She just loves you too much and worries about you too much." Albert knew that Izabel cared deeply for her family, especially her sister, Katrina.
Otherwise, if she wanted to, Albert believed the other girls wouldn't stand a chance.
"What about you?" Katrina asked, her eyes filled with longing as she hoped to hear the words of affection from Albert himself.
"I like you very much, too."
"Liar!" Katrina closed her eyes and hummed softly, "You're a liar."
"You know I don't like lying, and I rarely deceive others." Albert gently pinched her as punishment for her lack of trust. "I have to consider your future."
"But what about Hermione?" Katrina pressed.
"It's precisely because of that incident that I realized I must be more cautious about your situation..." Albert began to explain.
However, his lips were blocked again as Katrina didn't want to hear his excuses. Perhaps there was some truth in his words, but to her, they were all meaningless justifications. She no longer wanted to listen; she only wanted to secure her own place in Albert's heart.
Sensing the weight of Katrina's love, Albert fell silent. He gently supported her body with his hands and relished in the lengthy, sweet kiss.
After an indeterminate amount of time, the two finally parted reluctantly, with Katrina breathing heavily, her eyes glazed over as if she had fallen into a sweet reverie.
She reached out to cup Albert's face, her body half-sitting on top of his, seeking more kisses and more love.
"Not here," Albert reminded her.
Katrina suddenly came back to her senses, her cheeks turning even redder as she buried her face in Albert's embrace.
Then, she felt herself being picked up and carried horizontally, the water on her body silently evaporating before they entered the bedroom.
Lying on the soft bed, Katrina's fiery red hair tumbled messily across the pillow, resembling a blooming flower.
She spread her arms, welcoming her lover.
In that moment, the image of the girl in bed overlapped with that of Izabel, causing Albert to be unable to tell them apart.
He didn't keep her waiting too long, slowly lowering himself to kiss those alluring, dewy lips.
It lacked the passion of his time with Hermione and the warmth of his moments with Izabel; instead, it held a wondrous, innocent feeling of first love.
He felt as though he had fallen in love all over again.
The night was still long.
By now, Albert could be considered highly skilled in this art. Just as he had promised Izabel, he didn't let the increasingly infatuated Katrina have a terrible experience.
However, Katrina was unlike a novice; her greed and demands exceeded his imagination. It was only when she completely lost her strength and fell asleep in his arms that Albert gently held her and slowly closed his own eyes.
The bedroom door was silently pushed open, and Izabel, clad in a thin sleeping dress, quietly entered the room. She gazed at her contented sister, curled up in Albert's embrace, and leaned down to kiss Albert's face, her eyes now open.
"Do you want to as well?" Albert's voice carried a hint of fatigue.
"I was just a little worried about Katrina, so I came to check on her. She really doesn't take good care of her body," Izabel said, not blaming her husband but realizing that she had perhaps underestimated her sister's pent-up emotions.
"She probably won't be able to move much tomorrow."
As she spoke, she placed a jar of ointment on the bedside table.
"I thought you would help her apply it," Albert remarked.
"She probably wants you to do it, and she should suffer a little so she learns to cherish her body," Izabel replied, kissing Albert's forehead affectionately. "Good night, dear. Sleep well."
