Chapter 158: Join My Pirate Crew
Chapter 158: Join My Pirate Crew
Taking Sag's Head?
Upon hearing this, a deafening silence befell the room, but it was soon broken by raucous laughter emanating from above.
"Hahahaha! How amusing! You want my head?"
Sag took a swig from his jewel-encrusted cup, his laughter booming as if he'd heard the funniest joke.
"Well, you've got guts, I'll give you that. But if it's an assassination you're after, it's best not to announce it." Marika smiled.
"So, you're an idiot!" Renee clapped her hands on the table, mimicking Sag's laughter and baring her tiny tiger teeth.
Lily, standing by their side, curled her lips into a smirk, "A bounty hunter, perhaps?"
Gabra took a deep breath and was about to step forward when the owl beside him blurted out, "We're not bounty hunters, we're Cipher Pol 9, or CP9 for short! Chaba!"
"Hey! Otogakure!"
"There's no need to explain so much, Gabra exclaimed. "Last time, we only needed to assassinate three people, but because you blabbed, we ended up killing twenty-three!"
"Chaba!"
The owl covered its mouth, its eyes darting wildly, "I've blabbed again."
With a swift movement, Gabra planted his feet apart and pushed his palms forward, saying, "Exposing ourselves here is a last resort. My comrade has a big mouth, and since we can't conspire in secret, we have no choice but to resort to force! Yo Yi!"
"CP9?" Sag furrowed his brows, taken aback.
"Shave!"
In that moment of distraction, Gabra seized his chance and vanished from his spot, poised to launch an attack. But just as he did, a voice rang in his ear.
"Shave!"
A figure appeared beside his nearly vanished form, grasping his wrist and halting him in his tracks.
Gabra's eyes widened in disbelief as he turned to see a man with slightly darkened skin and a sinister demeanor. The man gripped his outstretched finger, the knuckles straining from the force, faintly glowing white.
"Impossible...you..."
Before Gabra could finish, Ajin flexed his arm, sending him flying, "How dare you try to get close to Captain Sag!"
Gabra was flung into the air, his body twisting to right itself before he kicked out with a cry, "Rasen Kick!"
A faint blue slash flew from his leg, speeding towards Sag.
"Rasen Kick!"
Ajin, still on the ground, craned his neck to watch the incoming attack. He lifted his leg and kicked upwards, sending another faint blue slash to collide with the first, creating a wave of energy that dispersed into the air.
"Moon Step!"
After kicking, Ajin leaped into the air, surprising Gabra as he rapidly stomped on the air twice, reaching Gabra's position in an instant. He grabbed Gabra's leg and forcefully slammed it downwards.
"Iron Block!"
Caught off guard, Gabra shouted as he solidified his body.
Simultaneously, Sag frowned, pressing a hand onto the armrest of his chair.
In an instant, a wave of Haoshoku Haki surged from the armrest, sweeping across the banquet hall in all directions.
Bang!
Gabra's body slammed into the hardwood floor, the impact creating a heavy thud. The force should have shattered the wooden floor, but it was as hard as iron. Not only did it remain intact, but the sheer hardness also caused Gabra to bounce back slightly.
"Damn!"
Taking advantage of the recoil, Gabra released Iron Block and twisted his body, freeing his ankle from Ajin's grip. Like a scorpion's tail, he lashed out with a kick aimed at Ajin, who sidestepped, causing Gabra's kick to land on the ground. Using the momentum, Gabra pushed off the floor, shooting his finger toward Ajin's retreating form.
"Finger Gun!"
"Iron Block!"
Clang!
The finger struck Ajin's chest, and the familiar feeling of hardness widened Gabra's eyes in shock. He quickly backed away, shouting, "Otogakure!"
"Chaba! Rokushiki 'Juicy'!"
The owl, resembling a sphere, shot forward and stopped in front of Ajin. Ajin furrowed his brows at the ball-like creature, swinging his leg to kick it like a ball, sending it flying back.
The owl wobbled on the ground before settling and closing its eyes, as if sensing something. "The Way of the Warrior: two thousand."
It turned to Gabra and said, "Only one hundred and eight less than you, chaba."
"What?!"
Gabra exclaimed, "You're 'Ghost' Ajin, with a bounty of thirty-five million berries. Why is your Warrior value so high? And where did you learn those Rokushiki techniques?!"
Rokushiki!
This guy was using Rokushiki in their fight!
Although he had only displayed a few of the techniques, Gabra was certain this guy knew them all!
And what was up with that Warrior value?
Numerically, it was almost identical to his own, and he, Gabra, was the second-best in CP9!
Was this guy only worth thirty-five million berries?
"Willpower?" Ajin glanced at the owl thoughtfully. "A measurement of combat power? Useless. Captain Sag says that will is the key to victory."
How could one possibly measure a person's will?
"Let's go!"
Without hesitation, Gabra rushed towards the window of the banquet hall.
Regardless of whether Ajin's bounty was incorrect or not, he was just one of many formidable individuals in the Celestial Disaster Pirate Crew. There were even stronger ones among them.
Ajin alone was troublesome enough; with so many others here, the three of them no longer stood a chance.
Their only option now was to retreat!
Outside was the sea-train track; as long as they could get out, they could escape along the tracks!
Bang! Gabra moved swiftly, but as soon as his head collided with the window, a dull thud sounded out, and his body bounced back, falling to the ground.
A window?!
No, wait, there's something wrong with this floor too!
Gabra finally realized what was happening and quickly got to his feet, dashing towards Sag.
"Capture Sag first!"
As his body lunged forward, it suddenly swelled, and fine fur began to sprout.
If they couldn't escape, then they'd have to take out their target! As long as they captured him, there was still a chance!
"Alright!"
Just as he finished transforming, Sag uttered a single word, his eyes flashing with a sinister light as he glanced at the three intruders.
Hum! With just a glance, the three of them froze in their tracks, cold sweat breaking out on their foreheads. Their bodies stiffened, immobilized as if they had turned into sculptures.
Even Gabra, who was halfway through his transformation and resembled a wolf, reverted to his human form. His pupils darted wildly, as if he had just witnessed something terrifying.
This feeling... "An overbearing, domineering aura!" Gabra grit his teeth.
Sag possessed the qualifications for a Conqueror's Haki!
Sag relaxed his fingers, and the Armament Haki that had enveloped the surroundings dissipated. He propped his chin with one hand and tilted his head slightly, scrutinizing the trio. "CP9? That name rings a bell."
"Cipher Pol, the World Government's direct intelligence agency and a secret intelligence organization of the Judicial Island," Hawkins explained as he walked over. "But there are only CP1 to CP8. I've never heard of CP9. Are you an even more secretive organization?"
"You won't find that out from me," Gabra said confidently.
"Yes, we are an even more covert organization, directly under the World Government, not the Judicial Island," the owl interjected, turning to face Gabra. "Chaba chaba!"
But as soon as it finished speaking, it clapped its beak shut, its eyes widening in realization. "I've blabbed again, Gabra."
"Shut up! Why don't you just disembowel yourself!" Gabra snapped.
Oboro drew a rib knife from his waist and pointed it at his abdomen. "It has come to this. Our mission has failed. I have no choice but to perform seppuku, yo yi!"
"Iron Block!"
Just as the blade touched his abdomen, Oboro cried out, and the sharp edge of the knife made a crisp sound as it was blocked.
"Aren't you supposed to disembowel yourself?" Gabra shouted.
"It will hurt," Oboro admitted honestly.
Gabra's eyes twitched. "Just die already! You're really something else!"
"CP9, Judicial Island, secret intelligence... oh."
Sag nodded. "Rob Lucci, there is such a person. But why did the three of you come here? Is the World Government unable to tolerate me, an Ohara survivor?"
At this, Gabra stared at Sag, dumbfounded.
Ohara?!
"Not that, chaba chaba," the owl clarified. "You robbed Carnival Island, which has industries belonging to our boss, Spandam. We just happened to be passing by and resting there, so we reported it. Our boss was furious, so he ordered us to bring back your head and the money."
The three of them had just completed the assassination of a Revolutionary Army branch leader and were resting in Carnival City, preparing to take the sea-train to the Judicial Island, when they encountered Sag in the midst of his robbery.
That was how they had ended up infiltrating the pirate crew to try and take Sag's head.
"Hmph, how interesting. So, CP9 didn't come here to gather intelligence or because of Ohara, but simply for money." Sag chuckled.
"Should we kill them?" Lily asked.
"No," Sag replied, baring his teeth. "I'm very tolerant of talented individuals. It would be a waste to let them die, especially this Kabuki."
"His name is Oboro, and that one is Gabra. I'm Owl," the owl blurted out, once again unable to keep the information to itself.
"Why don't you just go die already!" Gabra wanted to strangle the owl.
"How about this," Sag proposed, pouring himself a drink. "Since you've already infiltrated my crew, you might as well go all the way and join my pirate crew."
