Chapter 155: Rua!!!!
Chapter 155 Rua!!!!
"Braised wings are my favorite", Kuro hummed an odd little tune as he skewered meat on a blade and roasted it over the campfire, watching it slowly sizzle to perfection.
Grand Line sea beast meat actually tasted decent even without seasoning, though its texture was passable at best.
"But spices would make it better", he muttered, scowling. "Damn it, I should've asked that young girl for some seasoning earlier."
Kuro sighed. His cooking skills weren't bad, but basic roasting was all he could manage. Back during his cultivation days, he'd often grilled small animals that foolishly tried to attack him.
"About done", he muttered, eyeing the golden-brown meat. Gripping the blade, he began slicing toward his mouth when suddenly his Observation Haki flared.
A massive object was plummeting from the sky.
Looking up, he saw a colossal shadow descending.
Boom!
The impact hit like a meteor strike. Kuro flew backward as a shockwave erupted, sending smoke and dirt swirling. Blades scattered, meat rolled across the ground, and the campfire vanished beneath the force.
"What the hell?!" Kuro shot upright, face darkening as he stared through the dust. His eyes widened, sweat beading his brow.
The towering figure staggered up, belching a drunken hiccup. Bloodshot eyes locked onto the largest lion head nearby.
"Lion?" it growled. The figure's expression twisted with fury. "I Hate Lions!"
Boom!
A single punch shattered the steel lion into fragments that whistled through the air like shrapnel.
"Rua!!!" The behemoth roared toward the heavens, "I'M Bored! Who'LL Kill ME?!!!"
The sheer force of his voice sent another shockwave rippling outward.
Eight meters tall, black hair cascading over his shoulders, horns like a dragon's crown atop his head. His beard flowed like dragon whiskers. A dragon-scale tattoo coiled around his left arm, his chest bare. A scar shaped like an 'X' marred his right side. Purple robes hung from his waist, golden chains dangling from its hem. White sacred rope cinched his broad frame.
Kuro recognized him instantly.
The Four Emperors' Kaido.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Kuro bellowed, eyes nearly popping. "I'm hiding on my own damn island!"
Go commit suicide somewhere else!
"Hm?" Kaido squinted down, breath reeking of alcohol. "Who the hell're you?"
Boom!
Kuro barely dodged as the ground exploded beneath him, debris grazing his cheek. The shockwave stung his face.
"Oh? Dodged?" Kaido lurched forward, arms pistoning like pile drivers.
Kuro leapt back, watching craters bloom across his newly rebuilt island. "Are you kidding me?!"
Springing upward, he landed on Kaido's face. Autumn Water flashed as he unleashed a Haki-charged slash toward Kaido's neck.
"Hm?"
Kaido swatted him aside like a fly, sending man and blade crashing into the earth.
Boom!
Smoke billowed. Kaido staggered, some of his drunken haze clearing as he examined the tiny cut on his arm. Across the clearing, Kuro emerged, his body now sheathed in armor-like Armored Haki.
Kaido squinted, finally noticing Kuro's navy cloak. "Navy?"
Kaido, the "Strongest Creature" and self-proclaimed "King of the New World", might boast about being unbeatable in a duel, but Kuro knew better.
Okay, maybe not.
This aura, this strength, that impact—this monster was the real deal. The world teemed with terrifying strongmen—two random guys from some backwater region had just become admirals! Compared to that, Kuro's list of people to avoid was short:
Whitebeard? The old man was half-dead from illness anyway. Too weak to cause trouble.
Red-Haired Shanks? Lost an arm to a sea monster and spent his days begging for mercy. All bark, no bite. Probably wouldn't even fight.
But Kaido? A drunkard who went berserk sober or not, itching for any excuse to cause chaos. And Big Mom? A turbocharged version of Lida on steroids.
And both could Fly.
"Rua!!!" Kaido roared, eyes blazing. "Navy in Haki armor? Interesting! Come on—Kill ME!"
His fist crackled with purple lightning. "Or I'll Kill You!"
Kuro's pupils contracted. He rocketed skyward as Kaido's fist smashed down.
"Advanced Armored Haki?!"
No—this was the Highest tier!
Boom!
The island cracked like an eggshell from the impact. Skypiea fragments trembled, central islands shattering into floating debris.
Kuro's eyebrow twitched violently.
I Just Rebuilt That Model!!
"Lion's Majesty!" he roared, clenching his fist.
Weapons, stones, ships, and steel factory wreckage erupted into the air, a storm of destruction.
"Let's see how much punishment you can take!" he snarled, slamming his fist downward.
Boom!
The debris hurricane transformed into lion-shaped phantoms, a metallic storm of teeth and claws roaring toward Kaido.
The Four Emperors' chapter is a bit late, my lords forgive me.
Also today's translation was lengthy, plus a 10,000-word reward.
Let me explain the update rules
There aren't any for now.
Because I've had zero time these days.
Once I get some breathing room, I'll establish update rules.
