Chapter 1521: Inevitable Victory
Chapter 1521: Inevitable Victory
Of course, Harry didn't need any so-called guarantees now, or at least he thought so.
Before Harry volunteered to stand here, he had already prepared himself to face death.
So what if he died?
Harry Potter was not afraid.
Alright then.
To say that he wasn't afraid would definitely be a lie, as there was great terror between life and death!
Especially when one couldn't just rush into death immediately.
Undoubtedly, waiting for death was the most agonizing process!
It was Albert who suggested that Harry talk to Dumbledore to make this waiting process less painful.
After all, Dumbledore himself was a man who could face death without changing his countenance, and he would surely be able to provide Harry with spiritual support to ensure that Harry remained stable during this waiting period.
However, the effect seemed... rather mediocre.
"Since we're all going to die anyway, why can't I go and face Voldemort early?" Harry looked at Albert with confusion and asked, "Things should go smoothly, I think there's really no need to have a big battle with the Death Eaters, that will cause a lot of casualties."
"Harry, if you want long-lasting peace, it must be baptized with blood. Only through the pain of bloodshed will people cherish the hard-won peace." Albert looked up at Dumbledore's portrait and said meaningfully, "Although it's ironic, this is reality. The desire for peace is always beautiful, but the peace achieved by directly sacrificing you, the savior, will inevitably be short-lived, and no one will be grateful for it. They will only think that your sacrifice is taken for granted because you are the so-called hero, the so-called savior."
Harry opened his mouth slightly, probably not expecting to hear such words from Albert.
"Even if we sacrifice you now for a bloodless peace, we will pay an even more painful price in the future to solve the problem. Am I right, Dumbledore?"
"The one who dies in battle will definitely not be yourself."
This was the first time Phineas had heard someone speak such words so righteously.
Albert ignored Phineas and looked at Harry as he continued, "Do you think that group of Death Eaters and dark wizards will just give up and easily let go of your wife, children, and friends?"
"That guy doesn't have a wife and kids now." Phineas couldn't help but interject.
Harry looked at Albert in shock and then turned his gaze to Dumbledore, seeking help from the latter.
"Yes, Harry, what Albert said is actually not wrong in a certain sense." Dumbledore's portrait remained silent for a moment before giving Albert a complicated look, "You are more rational than most people and are able to make the most correct choices. In fact, you would make a great Minister of Magic."
"That position should be more suitable for those who like to engage in political speculation, manipulate power, and abuse their authority for personal gain." Albert expressed his disdain for becoming the Minister of Magic.
"That position is not as despicable as you make it out to be, it's usually the person sitting in that position who is despicable."
"Perhaps, we should discuss other topics instead of letting Harry continue to shoulder this heavy burden that was never his to begin with." Albert shot an unhappy glance at Dumbledore's portrait and turned to Harry, "Don't see yourself as some savior. The reason you're standing here now, willing to face your own death, is not because you want to take revenge for your parents, to protect your loved ones from Voldemort, and to put an end to the enmity between you and him?"
"You're right!"
Harry shrugged, neither refuting nor bothering to do so.
Because what Albert said was indeed true.
Moreover, he himself was about to die, and he couldn't be bothered to worry about these issues.
Harry was well aware that his main concern should be how to take Voldemort down with him, and Albert was the executor of this plan. It was best for him to follow Albert's arrangements, as Dumbledore could no longer help him in this regard.
"There's no need to be so pessimistic, Harry, I've told you before, you may not necessarily die, my prophecies have always been accurate." Albert steered the conversation in a different direction, hoping that Harry would face Voldemort with the belief that "I will not die", because there was great terror between life and death!
He really couldn't guarantee that Harry's mental state would remain stable during this waiting period.
Albert had experienced it himself, but it was only for a fleeting moment, whereas Harry had to endure the agony.
To be honest, Albert didn't want to gamble on whether Harry's will was strong enough.
"You know, I don't really care about that." Harry murmured.
"Of course, you care. Your child with Ginny is about to be born, no one wants their child to lose their father right after they're born." Albert looked at Dumbledore expressionlessly and threatened, "Don't try to dump all the problems on me, or I won't mind writing about the little secrets between you and Grindelwald in your biography."
"The last time I went to Nurmengard, I talked to Grindelwald for a long time, and he also told me about your past."
The portraits in the Headmaster's office, which had been dozing off, now wore extremely interesting expressions, probably not expecting Albert to use such a matter to threaten Dumbledore.
This was truly too amusing.
"He told you everything?"
Rather than becoming angry, Dumbledore was instead curious about the content of their conversation.
"When I visited Grindelwald in Nurmengard, he hadn't spoken to anyone in a long time, so I became his best listener." Albert didn't intend to reveal this part to others, he was just slightly unhappy with Dumbledore, and it was undoubtedly the right thing to do to comfort Harry Potter's emotions.
"I'm already dead!" Dumbledore said softly.
"That has never been an excuse." Albert said to the stunned Harry, "If you have any doubts, just ask directly. Dumbledore knows more than I do, and he's actually hiding quite a few secrets from you."
"Can I really survive?"
Harry hesitated for a moment before asking the question he had been avoiding all along.
If possible, no one wanted to die, and Harry was no exception, especially since his child with Ginny had not yet been born, and he didn't want to leave her alone.
His ability to face death earlier was at least half an act.
"Voldemort took your blood and used it to reshape his physical body, causing your blood to flow in his veins. A part of his soul is still attached to you due to the Horcrux."
"This ties your destinies tightly together, closer than any two wizards in history. In a sense, as long as he doesn't die, your life will not come to an end!"
"I thought it was the other way around." Harry paused, confused, "But why didn't you tell me?"
"This is my guess, although my guesses are usually quite accurate. But before anything happened, I didn't want to give you vague hopes, as that might have made the situation worse."
"So, Albert has always been telling the truth? It seems the situation isn't too bad after all." The heavy burden that had been weighing on Harry's heart seemed to have suddenly vanished.
"But why didn't you guys want to tell me? Why did you have to make things so complicated?"
"I was just worried that you would make the same stupid mistake I did." Dumbledore's eyes were filled with guilt and helplessness, but Albert had obviously done a good job, as he had almost arranged everything perfectly.
