Chapter 152: Unfathomable Depths, The Dragon Skeleton Tower Opens
Chapter 152: Unfathomable Depths, The Dragon Skeleton Tower Opens
The Traveler had faced the Demon Hand before and knew just how formidable he was. In a one-on-one fight, the Traveler felt his chances of losing far outweighed his chances of winning. After all, the Demon Hand's unpredictable and bizarre fighting style was incredibly difficult to handle!
But what was happening now?
The Demon Hand was in a terrible state, having been beaten by Su Nan!
From the appearance of the key fragment to now, it hadn't even been an hour. Subtracting the time spent chasing the key fragment and searching for the other key holders, the two had probably only fought for less than ten minutes.
In such a short time, Su Nan had managed to force the Demon Hand to flee in a panic, a development that was truly beyond the Traveler's expectations.
Blood Mouth, who was familiar with the Demon Hand's strength and character, was also shocked. The Demon Hand was always so proud; how badly must he have been crushed to end up in such a miserable state?
"Be careful, this is Su Nan!"
"The wizard's apprentice who killed Ugo!"
The Demon Hand flew to Blood Mouth's side, speaking rapidly.
Blood Mouth was taken aback by this news, but then a wild joy surged through him. He hadn't forgotten that the key to the Starlight Tower was in Su Nan's possession. If he killed Su Nan, the key would be his.
"The key to the Starlight Tower is mine!" Blood Mouth growled.
The Demon Hand's face flickered with uncertainty, but he finally clenched his teeth and whispered, "Fine, I agree. Kill Su Nan, and the key to the Starlight Tower is yours. We'll discuss the key fragment of the Ecosystem Garden later!"
"It's a deal!" Blood Mouth's massive mouth cracked into a cruel, violent smile.
The Traveler, standing not far away, was secretly amazed.
Su Nan?
Was this the player's real name?
And he had killed Ugo?
The Traveler had heard of Ugo; he was said to have a rare insect with ancient lineage, making him a formidable opponent.
He never expected Ugo to have been killed by a player!
Combined with the Demon Hand's current pathetic state, it seemed the player was even stronger than he had anticipated!
"Roar!"
A sound like the roar of an ancient behemoth thundered through the air, breaking the Traveler's reverie.
Blood Mouth's body suddenly swelled as if it were inflating, his skin splitting open as bloody muscles oozed out of the wounds.
In a matter of moments, Blood Mouth had transformed into a massive, ten-meter-tall flesh giant. Dark, foul-smelling blood slowly seeped from his flesh, trickling down his skin.
His bloated head was bald, with only a single cold, unblinking eye.
"Roar!"
The flesh giant roared and charged at Su Nan.
At the same time, the Demon Hand summoned two four-legged monsters to attack the Traveler, while he himself wielded a flurry of black tentacles, surrounding and attacking Su Nan from all directions.
"This time, I will kill you!"
The Demon Hand sneered inwardly.
Blood Mouth's fusion ability was unique, allowing him to unleash the blood essence he had stored by consuming flesh, significantly boosting his strength for a short period.
Though it could only last four to five minutes, during this time, his strength would rival that of a Fourth Circle Legendary!
Even Su Nan wouldn't be able to withstand it!
The cost was that it would take years to accumulate the blood essence again.
Regardless, in a one-on-one fight, he wasn't a match for Su Nan, but with Blood Mouth's full power, he was confident they could overpower him.
As for the Traveler, the Demon Hand never took him seriously. The guy only relied on the powerful defense of the Green Spirit Branch; his true strength was nothing to worry about.
The two four-legged monsters were enough to keep the Traveler at bay for a while, allowing them to deal with Su Nan first!
"Oh no!"
The Traveler had heard about Blood Mouth's signature move and his face paled as he tried to rush to Su Nan's aid. However, the two four-legged monsters intercepted him, leaving him to watch helplessly as the flesh giant's massive fist smashed into Su Nan!
Boom!
A violent shockwave erupted, spreading out from Su Nan in all directions!
To everyone's surprise, Su Nan, who had taken the terrifying blow head-on, didn't even flinch, emerging unscathed.
"Three hundred points of defense; that's quite impressive."
A flicker of surprise crossed Su Nan's eyes.
A typical Third Circle Wizard Apprentice's Second Circle spell would have a power equivalent to less than a hundred points of defense.
The flesh giant's punch had negated the three hundred points of defense from the Great Guardian Ring, which was roughly the equivalent of four Second Circle spells combined.
This was definitely Fourth Circle Legendary level!
"A temporary strength enhancement ability, huh."
After a moment's thought, Su Nan understood and a faint smile played on his lips.
Generally, such abilities came with a significant cost and consumed a lot of resources, much like his Magic Pattern Core. Dealing with it would be relatively simple.
Chapter 153: The Power of Overwhelming Force
With a thought, silver liquid metal began to seep out of Su Nan's pores, rapidly forming into metallic spikes. They surged forward in a storm, assaulting the flesh giant.
The flesh giant, still stunned by the fact that his powerful punch had failed to break through Su Nan's defenses, was suddenly engulfed by the metal storm. His massive body was torn apart like it had been sucked into a high-speed blender, blood and flesh flying everywhere in a thick, black-red mist!
Despite the rapid regrowth of his shredded flesh, the intense pain forced the flesh giant to let out a blood-curdling scream.
The pain completely unleashed his primal savagery. He endured the metal storm, throwing punch after punch at Su Nan, each one landing with a thunderous boom.
The two combatants faced off with sheer force, completely abandoning defense in favor of relentless attacks. It was a brutal contest of who would break first!
The intensity of the battle left the Demon Hand and the Traveler staring in disbelief.
But the Demon Hand quickly regained his composure and seized the opportunity to attack Su Nan from behind with his black tentacles.
The dark tentacles sliced through the air, lashing out like whips towards Su Nan's back.
Su Nan countered with a Sonic Smash, his hand moving so fast it left a trail of afterimages. In the same instant, his body blurred and split into two.
"Instant casting? Dual casting?"
The Traveler, like the Demon Hand moments ago, nearly popped his eyes out at the sight.
Two of the most challenging metamagic techniques, and Su Nan had mastered both!
No, if he could instant cast, he could surely silent cast as well!
The player had mastered three metamagic techniques, leaving the Traveler in awe.
It wasn't until a four-legged monster's claw nearly hit him that the Traveler snapped back to reality.
"Who is this player? Where does he come from?"
Watching the player single-handedly take on both Blood Mouth and the Demon Hand, and still appear to have the upper hand, the Traveler was filled with amazement.
No one in the forest cabin could match this level of power!
The Traveler was in awe, but the Demon Hand was on the verge of madness.
He and Blood Mouth had hit Su Nan countless times. Any other Third Circle Wizard Apprentice would have been reduced to dust by now.
But Su Nan remained unscathed, his invisible force field seemingly impervious to any attack!
Even Sauron wouldn't have been able to withstand their combined assault for so long without a scratch!
It was simply outrageous!
"What is this guy?!"
The prolonged assault was driving the Demon Hand to the brink of insanity.
As if his misfortune couldn't get any worse, the flesh giant suddenly stiffened and began to shrink rapidly, like a deflating balloon.
The Demon Hand's face turned pale as he realized Blood Mouth had exhausted too much of his blood essence to repair his wounds, causing the transformation to end prematurely, after just two minutes.
Understanding the situation, the Demon Hand immediately withdrew, turning and fleeing into the distance.
In his flesh giant form, Blood Mouth and the Demon Hand couldn't even handle Su Nan, let alone in his normal state.
Continuing the fight would mean certain death!
Escape!
He must escape!
He had to preserve his life and think about revenge later!
Seeing the Demon Hand flee out of the corner of his eye, Su Nan calmly controlled the metal storm, shredding the exhausted Blood Mouth into a cloud of blood. With a casual gesture, he collected the fallen magical items and key fragment.
After securing his loot, Su Nan activated a High-Rune Gem, transforming into a meteor and chasing after the Demon Hand.
The Demon Hand, hearing the approaching wind, turned to see the meteor and was terror-stricken. He quickly summoned several four-legged monsters to block Su Nan's path.
Dense metallic spikes surrounded Su Nan, shooting forward like arrows, piercing and tearing apart the oncoming monsters. They continued their relentless assault, crashing into the Demon Hand without pause.
Sssss!
The black tentacles blocking his way were instantly shredded, and the Demon Hand was once again caught in the metal storm.
This time, he had no strength left to escape.
His partially shadowy form lasted only a few breaths before being torn apart and obliterated by the metal storm, reduced to nothing.
The magical items and key fragment fell to the ground, where Su Nan scooped them up.
Now, he had four key fragments, which fit together to form a key, missing only one piece.
Returning to the original spot, the two four-legged monsters vanished with the Demon Hand's death.
The Traveler watched Su Nan approach with a complex expression, filled with admiration.
The Demon Hand and Blood Mouth were renowned strongmen in the southeastern domain of the continent. A Wizard Apprentice who could single-handedly take on both of them and emerge victorious was a rarity, even in the entire southeastern domain.
Not to mention, from the look of it, Su Nan hadn't even used his full strength.
The true extent of his power was unfathomable!
The Traveler's gaze swept over the key in Su Nan's hand, which was missing a corner. He let out a bitter laugh and, without waiting for Su Nan to speak, tossed the key fragment over.
The key fragment was useless to him now, as there was no way he could obtain the other four from Su Nan. It was better to give it away and earn some goodwill.
Su Nan gave the Traveler a surprised glance.
He had expected to have to do some convincing, but the Traveler was surprisingly open-minded.
After a moment's thought, Su Nan took out a spatial ring and threw it to the Traveler.
"Payment for the key fragment."
The spatial ring belonged to the Demon Hand. Su Nan had already taken the materials, gems, and gold coins from it, leaving only a few alchemical-level magical items.
He also included the faint glow-level protective magical item he had taken from the Demon Hand.
Since the Traveler had been so straightforward, Su Nan didn't want to take the key fragment for free. These items would serve as fair payment.
They were of no use to him anyway.
The Traveler took the spatial ring with a puzzled look, opened it, and his eyes widened in surprise.
"Are you sure you're giving all of this to me?" the Traveler couldn't help but confirm.
It wasn't that he was being fussy, but faint glow-level magical items were incredibly rare. Even someone like him, who was doing well among Third Circle Wizard Apprentices, only had one such item.
For Su Nan to casually give away a faint glow-level magical item seemed quite extravagant to him.
"To me, the key fragment is far more valuable than these things," Su Nan said casually, embedding the last key fragment into the key. With a faint glow, the seams disappeared, and a complete key was formed.
Looking at the key, which resembled a square metal plate, Su Nan's eyes flashed with a hint of joy.
Without further ado, he turned and flew toward the Dragon Skeleton Tower.
He couldn't wait to see what lay inside.
The Traveler hesitated for a moment but followed.
He was also curious about what would happen when the Dragon Skeleton Tower was activated.
The two arrived at the Dragon Skeleton Tower, one after the other.
Su Nan landed in front of the bone gate, scanned the area, and inserted the key into the square slot at the center of the gate.
Instantly, a faint clicking sound was heard, and countless fine threads of light emanated from the key, spreading along the bone patterns on the gate.
A moment later, a loud rumble echoed, and the bone gate slowly opened.
Su Nan took a deep breath and stepped inside.
The view suddenly darkened, then abruptly brightened, dispelling the surrounding darkness.
Su Nan looked around and found himself in a spacious hall.
The entire hall was paved with white marble, with neatly arranged stone chairs and tables. The ceiling was embedded with hundreds of eternal pearls.
It was the sudden glow of these eternal pearls that illuminated the entire hall.
"Looks like a public resting area," Su Nan mused as he walked toward the center of the hall, where a teleportation array was drawn on the floor.
As soon as he stepped into the array, countless lines of light appeared, weaving into a translucent screen. On it, the layers were listed from 'Second Floor' to 'Fifteenth Floor.'
"Only fifteen floors?"
Su Nan's eyes flickered with confusion.
The Dragon Skeleton Tower was over a thousand meters tall and had an enormous volume.
Even without spatial folding technology, the actual space should be far more than just fifteen floors.
With this doubt in mind, Su Nan selected the second floor.
The world around him blurred, and a strong sense of weightlessness washed over him, making his chest feel slightly oppressed.
Several seconds later, the strange sensation subsided, and he felt solid ground beneath his feet again.
"It's been a long time since I last experienced this feeling," Su Nan mused.
This was the first time in his life he had used a teleportation array.
Regaining his composure, Su Nan looked up and saw a bright hall, much smaller than the previous one.
Doors were arranged in a ring along the edges, and through the open doorways, he could see long, clean corridors beyond.
Su Nan stepped into the first corridor on the right.
On either side of the corridor were tightly closed doors. He opened one at random and found a spacious room with simple yet comfortable furnishings. The furniture was complete, but a layer of dust covered the floor and surfaces, indicating it hadn't been cleaned in a long time.
The other rooms were similarly decorated and arranged.
Su Nan immediately understood that this floor was a residential area.
