Chapter 151: Commencing the Fifth Shuttle

"What's going on?"
"Where's the Sixth Tier?"
"Where's the Sixth Tier for the Martial Arts Evolution Path?"
"Did the Virtual World not update, or is it a network issue?"
Countless Evolvers were in an uproar.
In their opinion, this Martial Arts Evolution Path had the potential to soar past over forty ranks, leaping from its original position at fifty-third place to the twelfth spot on the Chi Qiu Evolution Rankings.
The only possible explanation was the upload of the Sixth Tier.
Without the enhancement of the Sixth Tier to the entire evolution path, how could the Martial Arts Evolution Path break into the twelfth rank of the Chi Qiu Evolution Rankings?
In fact, even if the Martial Arts Evolution Path had uploaded the Sixth Tier, it would still be astonishing to see such a significant jump in rankings.
But no matter how astonishing it was, it could be understood. After all, with the addition of the Sixth Tier, the Martial Arts Evolution Path would essentially be a Sixth Tier Evolution Path, and such a huge room for improvement made sense upon closer inspection.
But now?
No Sixth Tier?
You broke into the twelfth rank without the Sixth Tier?
At first, many Evolvers thought that the Virtual World had merely 'delayed' its update or that there was a network delay in their area.
That was why they couldn't see the 'Sixth Tier'.
However, when they communicated and realized that others hadn't seen the 'Sixth Tier' either, they were stunned.
If it was just one or two Evolvers who hadn't noticed the Sixth Tier, it could be attributed to other factors and considered an isolated case or a network delay.
But if no one saw the Sixth Tier, then there was only one possibility.
The Martial Arts Evolution Path did not have a Sixth Tier.
Yet, this possibility gave rise to another matter.
Something even more astonishing.
How did the Martial Arts Evolution Path, lacking the Sixth Tier, break into the twelfth rank of the Chi Qiu Evolution Rankings?
If the Martial Arts Evolution Path, which only had tiers up to the Fifth Tier, reaching the fifty-third rank on the Chi Qiu Evolution Rankings, was like a group of university students with a single elementary school student in their midst— Extremely conspicuous.
Then, for the Martial Arts Evolution Path, still only at the Fifth Tier, to surge into the top fifty, into the twelfth rank— It would be akin to a group of PhD holders with a single infant sucking on a pacifier in their midst.
How the hell was that possible?
"What's going on?"
"Without uploading the Sixth Tier, how did the Martial Arts Evolution Path reach the twelfth rank?"
"Hmm? It looks like the Martial Arts Evolution Path has been modified. The word count for the Second Tier to Fifth Tier sections has changed."
"Modifications are normal. Evolution Paths on the rankings aren't set in stone, and their content is occasionally updated. But it still doesn't explain how the Martial Arts Evolution Path reached the twelfth rank."
"Perhaps the reason lies within the modified content?"
Numerous Evolvers and high-level citizens gradually realized that the content of the Second Tier to Fifth Tier sections, which they had purchased earlier, had undergone changes.
Subconsciously, everyone began re-reading the content.
"How is this possible?"
"Can the Martial Arts Evolution Path incorporate any energy system?"
"This is too astonishing! No wonder it rose so dramatically in the rankings. This qualitative change has unlocked the potential of the Martial Arts Evolution Path..."
A Sixth Tier Evolver's expression shifted slightly.
With his discerning eye, he could barely make out the impact of the Martial Arts Evolution Path's modifications.
If the Martial Arts Evolution Path was no longer limited to the Taiyin and Yang systems, then all human civilization Evolvers cultivating this path would benefit, as they could now walk their own specialized paths. This would qualitatively increase the probability of producing high-tier Evolvers.
No wonder the Martial Arts Evolution Path had broken into the top twelve of the Chi Qiu Evolution Rankings even without the Sixth Tier.
No wonder the university scholar who founded the Martial Arts Evolution Path had specifically updated it.
It was because this modification was too important for Martial Arts Evolvers.
"As expected of an Evolution Scholar, to raise the Martial Arts Evolution Path to such heights."
"This won't do. I only had a rudimentary sense of Taiyin and Yang before, which was why I didn't choose the Martial Arts Evolution Path. Now that the path doesn't require the comprehension of Taiyin and Yang, I can still cultivate it. I'm switching Evolution Paths."
"Me too. This is the work of an Evolution Scholar, after all. Following this path will definitely lead to success."
Countless Evolvers left the Central Plaza area, evidently intending to convey this news to the powerful families backing them.
Red Qiu Main Planet, Thirteenth Summit Palace.
Lin Yuan sat with his legs crossed.
"Five hundred thousand Merit Points."
"I can now upgrade to a Level Six Citizen."
A smile appeared on Lin Yuan's face.
After the completion of the Martial Arts Evolution Path, the Wisdom Goddess had bestowed upon him a massive reward of five hundred thousand Merit Points.
Merit Points were obtained through only a handful of means.
Each method required one to contribute to human civilization to receive them.
Besides establishing a completely new Evolution Path like Lin Yuan, one could also invent other technologies beneficial to human civilization.
But the primary channel was to go to the battlefields of the alien races and kill them to exchange for Merit Points.
According to Lin Yuan's knowledge, killing powerful aliens would earn him the corresponding number of Merit Points.
The value of a Sixth-Tier alien powerhouse was a thousand Merit Points, while a Seventh-Tier alien powerhouse was worth ten thousand to a hundred thousand Merit Points. As for an Eighth-Tier alien powerhouse, their value exceeded a million Merit Points.
The five hundred thousand Merit Points Lin Yuan had obtained was equivalent to half the value of an Eighth-Tier alien powerhouse, or several dozen Seventh-Tier aliens. Of course, defeating alien powerhouses was just one way to earn Merit Points.
On the alien battlefield, if one could lead an army of Evolvers to victory in a localized war against the aliens, they could earn Merit Points even without killing a single alien powerhouse.
"Too dangerous." Lin Yuan shook his head slightly.
Merit Points might sound easy to come by on the alien battlefield, but in reality, a Sixth-Tier alien powerhouse wouldn't wait around to be killed. It would require Evolvers to risk their lives.
For a Sixth-Tier Evolver to defeat a Sixth-Tier alien powerhouse, they would have to pay a tremendous price. Moreover, the alien powerhouse wasn't foolish; if it realized it was outmatched, it would flee.
Defeating a Sixth-Tier alien was one thing, but killing one was entirely different. Moreover, alien powerhouses often traveled in groups, making it extremely difficult to take them down. This was true even for Sixth-Tier aliens, let alone Seventh or Eighth-Tier ones.
Millions of years ago, the Red Qiu Star Master had descended upon the alien battlefield and unleashed a slaughter after his junior disciple was assassinated. However, most of his kills were aliens below the Sixth Tier, mere cannon fodder. The truly powerful aliens would have long fled, and soon enough, the Red Qiu Star Master encountered an alien powerhouse of the same caliber, blocking his path.
The aliens capable of engaging in battle with human civilization and holding their ground were exceptionally powerful, if not on par with the Bug Tribe, then very close.
"Time to become a Level Six Citizen," Lin Yuan thought to himself.
With that, he elevated his citizen level from Level Five to Level Six. Advancing from Level Five to Level Six required five hundred thousand Merit Points, which Lin Yuan had accumulated by perfecting the Martial Arts Evolution Path.
A moment later, Lin Yuan successfully became a Level Six Citizen.
Concurrently, he received a 'message' from the Human Civilization Alliance in his inbox. The message outlined the various privileges that came with being a Level Six Citizen, which were mostly upgraded versions of the benefits enjoyed by Level Five Citizens.
Additionally, Level Six Citizens were entitled to a welfare benefit and a qualification that Level Five Citizens did not possess. The welfare was a bottle of Evolution Elixir provided by the Human Civilization upon attaining the Level Six Citizen status.
This Sixth-Tier Evolution Elixir served to forcibly enhance an Evolver's physical body and soul to the Sixth Tier. Of course, it only affected the foundation and soul; one's understanding of rules and evolution paths would not change, as those aspects couldn't be improved by external means.
The reason for this welfare benefit was to accommodate scientists and researchers who might make significant contributions to human civilization but lacked evolutionary talent and were only Second or Third-Tier Evolvers. Gene elixirs and similar substances carried a risk of death, so the Human Civilization offered this safer alternative upon reaching Level Six Citizen status.
The Sixth-Tier Evolution Elixir guaranteed a perfect transformation of the body and soul without any risks. Naturally, the essence of providing this welfare to Level Six Citizens was to extend their lifespan by several thousand or even tens of thousands of years, allowing them to continue contributing to human civilization.
"Sixth-Tier Evolution Elixir," Lin Yuan exclaimed in awe. This rare treasure, capable of elevating an ordinary person to the Sixth Tier, was undoubtedly priceless. He hadn't seen it for sale in the app marketplace when he was a Level Five Citizen, indicating that he lacked the necessary permissions.
"However, those who ascend to the Sixth Tier by consuming the Sixth-Tier Evolution Elixir will likely find themselves at the bottom of the Sixth-Tier in terms of combat strength," Lin Yuan mused.
He understood that the combat prowess of Sixth-Tier Evolvers comprised several factors: the foundational power of the Sixth Tier, the secret techniques they mastered, their degree of comprehension of rules, and the strength of their cultivated evolution path. Those who relied on the Evolution Elixir only possessed the foundational power of the Sixth Tier.
The second privilege, or qualification, that came with being a Level Six Citizen was the opportunity to participate in the Star Alliance Assembly, which was held once every hundred years.
The Star Alliance was a union formed by multiple star domains, and the current Red Qiu Star Domain was affiliated with the 'Annan' Star Alliance. The Star Alliance Assembly was an official event hosted by the Annan Star Alliance, open only to citizens of Level Six and above.
During the assembly, all participating citizens could put forth their suggestions, which could range from minor to significant. Minor suggestions might pertain to personal welfare, such as a Level Six Citizen requesting a transport battleship for their own use from the Annan Star Alliance.
"The Annan Star Alliance will most likely 'allocate' a warship to this Level Six citizen."
On a larger scale, they could amend certain regulations within the Annan Star Alliance. For instance, if a Level Six citizen felt that the death penalty was inhumane and wanted to abolish it, the Star Alliance would consider the suggestion and ultimately respond with agreement, refusal, or a reservation.
Of course, these regulations pertained only to the internal laws of the Star Alliance and not the charters enacted by the Cosmic Human Alliance, which were beyond the scope of a Level Six citizen's influence.
"The Star Alliance Assembly?" Lin Yuan mused, his expression contemplative.
Such an assembly symbolized the highest authority of a Star Alliance, and only Level Six citizens who had made significant contributions to human civilization were qualified to participate.
After carefully reviewing the numerous privileges of a Level Six citizen, Lin Yuan left the palace to meet with his teacher.
"Take me to see my master," Lin Yuan instructed the attendant outside the palace.
"Yes," the attendant replied respectfully. "Please follow me, Peak Master."
Lin Yuan followed the attendant towards the central and most massive peak of the thirteen peaks.
"Greetings, Master," Lin Yuan said with a slight bow as he entered the scarlet palace and faced the Red Kun Star Master seated on the throne.
"Hahaha!" The Red Kun Star Master laughed heartily. "My good disciple, rise."
His gaze towards Lin Yuan was filled with increasing satisfaction. Lin Yuan had brought him immense pride during this period, and although those old fellows didn't voice it, their tone was sour enough to suggest they wanted to snatch Lin Yuan away for themselves.
"How do you feel?"
"Are you adapting well?" The Red Kun Star Master asked with concern. This was Lin Yuan's first time on the Red Kun main star, and he might need some time to adjust.
"I'm doing well," Lin Yuan nodded.
"That's good," the Red Kun Star Master said with a smile. "If you have any problems, don't hesitate to tell me."
After some further conversation, Lin Yuan took his leave.
On the thirteenth peak, Lin Yuan reunited with his twelve senior martial brothers.
"Congratulations, little junior martial brother," they greeted him warmly. "Hahaha, we finally get to meet the famous little junior martial brother in person!"
"Right, little junior martial brother," the third senior martial brother spoke up. "What about Hei Yu Mo? Are you going to meet him or not?"
As soon as he asked, the other senior martial brothers fell silent, their gazes fixed on Lin Yuan.
"Hei Yu Mo?" Lin Yuan thought for a moment. "I think I'll pass. There's nothing to talk about."
Lin Yuan had no intention of meeting Hei Yu Mo at all.
"I understand," the third senior martial brother nodded. If Lin Yuan was willing to meet with Hei Yu Mo, it would indicate a possibility of reconciliation, depending on the price Hei Yu Mo was willing to pay.
But if he didn't even want to meet, the message was clear.
"This Hei Yu family needs to be investigated," the second senior martial brother hinted.
"Leave it to me," the third senior martial brother said. "The Hei Yu family will cease all commercial activities, and all members are to remain on their respective planets and submit to the surveillance of the Red Kun lineage."
With these words, he sealed the fate of the Hei Yu family. The Hei Yu family had deep roots in the Red Kun Star Domain, and direct suppression might cause unwanted repercussions. However, by ordering them to halt all activities under the pretext of surveillance, they were effectively cutting them down slowly. Their decline was only a matter of time.
To the Red Kun lineage, the Hei Yu family was merely a dog they kept outside. Now that this dog had turned on its owner, it was time to get rid of it.
"Thank you, senior martial brothers," Lin Yuan said solemnly.
"Don't mention it," they replied. "We're martial brothers, after all. We should support each other."
Half a day later, Lin Yuan returned to the palace where he had been cultivating.
"Everything is almost ready," he said to himself. "It's time to commence the shuttle."
Lin Yuan calmed his thoughts and immersed his consciousness into his sea of consciousness, arriving once again before the majestic and vast Gate of Myriad Worlds.
"Let's take a look at some information about this shuttle," he murmured, sending a wisp of his consciousness into the Gate of Myriad Worlds.
In a trance-like state, Lin Yuan found himself before a vast world surrounded by immortal energy, ghostly aura, and profound demonic power.
"This world..." he whispered, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
Outside the Gate of Myriad Worlds, Lin Yuan's expression turned solemn. Through his wisp of consciousness, he learned that the duration of this shuttle would be five hundred years, while the corresponding time flow in the main world would be around three to four months.
"Let's begin," he said, withdrawing his consciousness and making some final preparations. He then announced that he would be entering seclusion.
Finally, his consciousness returned to the Gate of Myriad Worlds, and with a slight fluctuation of his thoughts, the gate exerted a pulling force, drawing Lin Yuan's consciousness into it.
