Chapter 1508: A Fifteen-Year Campaign
Chapter 1508: A Fifteen-Year Campaign
Half a month later, the Gryla fleet was fully prepared and set out for the next planet!
The next few planets followed the same pattern:
For the Carbon-Based Life Forms, the fleet primarily focused on persuasion, appealing to their emotions and reason.
Carbon-Based Life Forms were easily intimidated and lacked the resolve to die for their planet, making them easy to handle.
From Gryla-13A to Gryla-13E, the Carbon-Based Life Forms on these planets were quickly subdued without any major issues.
For the Automatons on these planets, the expeditionary fleet dealt a severe blow!
Of course, during the suppression process, the fleet tried to preserve the integrity of the Automatons as much as possible. After all, Su Yu could directly utilize intact Automatons.
If the Automatons’ bodies could not be preserved or if they resisted fiercely, they were decisively eliminated.
Over the next decade, the expeditionary fleet gradually conquered the remaining four planets.
These conquests went smoothly, and the pace of the attacks only accelerated!
The attacks sped up because the number of Gryla Celestial Eyes and Data Jamming Towers increased.
By the time they reached the fifth planet, Gryla-13E, the war was over in just one year. The expeditionary fleet completely occupied the planet!
Upon arriving at Gryla-13E, Su Yu’s first action was to deploy the five Data Jamming Towers he had constructed.
He had previously stored the five Data Jamming Towers and two Gryla Celestial Eyes in a sub-plane he had created using the Gorsevine Planar Chain. The sub-plane had an internal area roughly half the size of Earth, making it spacious enough to accommodate all the equipment without feeling cramped.
Once they reached the surface of Gryla-13E, Su Yu waved his hand, and the five massive Data Jamming Towers descended from the sky!
The five towers formed a pentagon over the most critical and densely populated regions of Gryla-13E's Automatons.
The towers emitted a massive amount of interference data, disrupting the planet's network and power systems.
Gryla-13E could not withstand such powerful interference.
On Gryla-13B, the local Automatons could not even handle a single Data Jamming Tower, let alone five!
Almost immediately, all Automatons within a 200-kilometer radius of the five towers shut down, including Eighth-Echelon Automatons.
Power facilities, such as power plants, also quickly failed, and the once brightly lit Automaton cities turned into dark, lifeless towns.
Next, Su Yu released the two Gryla Celestial Eyes.
As soon as the ships appeared, they began operating at full speed. Within an hour, two Spatial Membranes were spread across the planet's surface.
One Spatial Membrane was laid outside the atmosphere, while the other was placed about 100 meters below the surface.
The two layers of Spatial Membranes enveloped the entire planet like the two slices of bread in a hamburger.
...
The Spatial Membrane technology was Chant's latest invention.
While it might look like a double-layered protective net, it was fundamentally different from traditional shield-type nets.
Old-style protective nets would create a shield in the sky and on the ground. As long as the local Automatons could not break through the shield, they would be trapped inside.
For example, the Tarxin Defense Net used by Earth humans against the Skrulls was a standard shield-type net. It completely enveloped Neon Island, trapping the Skrull army inside. They could not escape unless they broke the shield.
The Spatial Membrane, however, was different.
As Su Yu put it, it was more like two planet-sized teleportation gates connected together.
If local Automatons attempted to cross the atmosphere and pass through the Spatial Membrane, they would not feel any resistance.
However, after passing through the Spatial Membrane, they would not reach the outer atmosphere. Instead, they would find themselves teleported to the Spatial Membrane on the ground!
Similarly, Automatons trying to cross the subterranean Spatial Membrane would be teleported to the Spatial Membrane above the atmosphere.
The two Spatial Membranes acted like interconnected teleportation gates, making the technology far more advanced than shield-type nets!
Moreover, the Automatons could not attack the Spatial Membrane.
Any attacks, whether missiles, lasers, or antimatter bombs, would be teleported to the other side.
In other words, the Automatons had no way to breach the Spatial Membrane.
Even if a Planetary AI spent some time, it might be able to break the Spatial Membrane, but it was beyond the capabilities of ordinary Eighth-Echelon Automatons in the short term.
Thus, the Automatons on Gryla-13E could not leave the planet's surface.
Combined with the powerful Data Jamming Towers and four planetary-grade pinpoint strikes, Su Yu’s fleet completely occupied the final planet in just one year!
