"Now it's my turn. Draw!" You Xuan declared. "I activate the Magic Card 'Discount Shopping.' By discarding a Level 8 monster from my hand, I can draw two cards from my deck."
You Xuan revealed a card in his hand.
"The card I'll be discarding is this Level 8 'Chaos Warrior.'"
It wasn't the Messenger of Creation, but the original Ritual version of the Chaos Warrior that had first appeared in Yugi Muto's hands.
This card was, of course, new to You Xuan, acquired during his visit to the Kaiba Corporation headquarters from the research team studying the Chaos Warrior.
Ye Xing's eyes twitched.
"The legendary warrior?" he murmured.
However, he knew that ever since the Creation Exodia had been developed, the Messenger of Creation was now viewed as an evolved form of the Chaos Warrior. The ancient Ritual blank card was now considered more valuable as a collector's item than for its practical use. But what difference would it make even if he had that card now?
"By discarding 'Chaos Warrior,' I draw from my deck," You Xuan continued, drawing a card.
"Mr. Pegasus, I appreciate your passion as a duelist, and I'm grateful for the honor you've bestowed upon me by allowing me to be the first duelist to face the God Beast King's new form.
And so, as a token of my gratitude," he slowly drew another card from his hand, "I shall also showcase here a new form of the Chaos Warrior that no one has ever seen before."
Everyone in the room was astonished by this statement.
A brand-new form of the Chaos Warrior? The card professors with sharper minds immediately turned their gazes to the side, toward Gui Ping.
They had heard that the top research team under the Kaiba Corporation had been working on related studies.
Could it be that they've actually produced new results? Gui Ping quickly understood: "You're going to try 'that' here?"
"Yes, I promised the team leader that I would test it in an actual duel as soon as possible and provide him with the data," You Xuan explained. "There's no better duel than this, and no more suitable opponent.
I activate the Magic Card 'Reinforcements,' allowing me to add a Level 4 or lower Warrior-Type monster from my deck to my hand.

Ye Xing held his breath, an ominous premonition washing over him despite it being just a four-star warrior.

"This card allows me to Ritual Summon 'Chaos Warrior' from my hand or graveyard by sending a Light/Dark-Attribute monster from my hand to the graveyard and then sending a Light/Dark-Attribute monster with the opposite attribute from my deck to the graveyard!"
This description left the entire audience in shock.
Selecting materials from the deck? And performing a Ritual Summon from the graveyard?
"I use the Light-Attribute 'Knight of Creation,' which I just searched for, and the Dark-Attribute monster 'Darkness Knight' from my deck as Ritual materials to perform the Ritual Summon!" You Xuan declared.
One light and one dark, one black and one white—the twin knights transformed into swirling vortexes of energy, merging as one and flowing into a galaxy-like vortex.
"With one soul guiding the light and another guiding the darkness, the door to chaos opens—Chaos Warrior, appear!"
A chaotic storm erupted, and a sword beam cleaved the heavens. A pillar of light descended, and endless particles within the storm took on the form of a knight, its armor reflecting the starlight.
"Chaos Warrior, attack: 3000!"
An even more powerful aura than the Messenger of Creation filled the room, reminding Ye Xing of the arrival of a god in the dueling arena, stirring up a storm that reached the heavens.
After all, it was common knowledge that the Chaos Warrior was as basic as they came, with no special effects to speak of.
Despite his words, Ye Xing secretly harbored a sliver of anticipation. He felt that there was something different about this Chaos Warrior.
"Chaos Warrior, effect activation," You Xuan announced with a wave of his hand. "Once per turn, I can remove one of your monsters from play!"
"What?!?"
Ye Xing was taken aback.
His expression seemed to say, "Don't try to fool me with your limited card seals. Isn't your monster supposed to be a blank slate?"
Or was it that, despite the absence of any written effects, the Chaos Warrior could still be used in such a way?
"Dimension Slash!"
In the next moment, everyone witnessed the Chaos Warrior's sword glow as it cleaved through the air. Its domineering sword aura ripped through space, and the massive Beast God King was helplessly sucked into the fissure created by the Dimension Slash.
Ye Xing: "!"
Why was this happening? But as a big shot in the International Illusion Society, he quickly guessed the reason: "Those two ritual materials from earlier…"
He had felt that the two young swordsmen resembled younger versions of the Chaos Warrior, and there had to be something fishy about that.

"I see, granting the Chaos Warrior a similar ability to the 'Messenger of Opening'," Ye Xing commented.
A faint smile played on Ye Xing's lips.
"But even so, you haven't forgotten, have you?" Ye Xing reminded him. "The 'Hand Exchange' from the previous turn, the card I took from you."
You Xuan nodded. "Kite Robot, when discarded to the graveyard after taking direct damage, can reduce battle damage to zero. While in the graveyard, it can also reduce the damage from a direct attack to zero once."
"Exactly," Ye Xing smiled. "How do you plan to overcome this obstacle of your own making?"
You Xuan smiled back.
"Chaos Warrior, second effect activation."
Ye Xing was startled once more.
"Your blank slate has a second effect as well?"
He immediately realized what was happening.
"The other card used as a ritual material earlier…"
"Correct," You Xuan explained. "'Twilight Knight' also bestows an additional effect when used as a ritual material for the 'Chaos Warrior'. Once per turn, I can randomly choose one of your hand cards and remove it from play until the end of your next turn!"
Ye Xing: "!"
Such a powerful ability!
"Since you only have one card left in your hand, it must be the 'Kite Robot'," You Xuan stated. "Therefore, I remove 'Kite Robot' from play! Twilight Dimension Slash!"
The swords of light and darkness slashed once more, but this time their target was a hand card! The sword light swept over Ye Xing's hand, and the Kite Robot vanished into thin air, transported to the other dimension.
"It's time for battle."
You Xuan gave the order.
"Chaos Warrior, direct attack on Mr. Pegasus!"
The Chaos Warrior leaped into the air, and the blades of light and darkness cleaved downward, transforming into countless sword shadows that filled the sky, like a myriad of swords returning to their sheath in a dazzling display.
Tipping his head back, Ye Xing looked up at the shining knight, momentarily captivated by the splendor of the countless sword shadows.
"This is the Chaos Warrior's brand-new evolution."
