Chapter 148: Teaching
Chapter 148: Teaching
"Barrage of Bullets"
"Knockout!"
Two days later in the morning, at the eastern ruins, a Werewolf stretched its powerful limbs, nimbly dodging the boulders and colorful Spell beams raining down on it.
Suddenly, a chorus of chirping broke the silence.
The Werewolf looked up and saw that the sky was filled with hundreds of Birds, diving towards it. It scrambled left and right, but still ended up with several wounds from their pecks.
However, the minor pain and injuries only fueled the Werewolf's competitive spirit, and it decided to stop dodging. Instead, it charged straight at the Young wizard nearby, who was waving a Wand.
The Werewolf's limbs were long and powerful, and with a single leap, it covered several meters, quickly closing the distance.
If it were an ordinary wizard, being approached by a Werewolf would be extremely dangerous.
Ivan, however, was clearly not an ordinary wizard. As the Werewolf lunged at him, he activated the effect of his Magic Ring.
In the next moment, a terrifying surge of Magic Power swept out in all directions, sending the nearby Werewolf flying several meters away.
Ivan waved his Wand again, and the weeds on the ground grew wildly, entangling the Werewolf's legs and binding it tightly.
Ivan was about to continue his attack when the terrifying Werewolf let out a frightened cry.
"Stop! I surrender! I surrender!"
Ivan lowered his Wand. A moment later, the Werewolf's body convulsed and slowly transformed back to its original form.
Walker struggled to get up from the ground, feeling weak and more than a little frustrated.
After taking the Wolfsbane Potion and gaining the ability to maintain his sanity in Werewolf form, Walker had grown a bit arrogant.
He kept demanding a rematch with Ivan,
But the results were obvious. After several battles, he was thoroughly beaten, unable to put up any resistance.
"Are you really a first-year Young wizard? I didn't think I'd be unable to beat you even in Werewolf form", Walker scratched his head, expressing his admiration.
"Technically, I'll be in second year next semester", Ivan said casually, then realized it sounded a bit like a primary school introduction.
Ivan shook his head, dismissing the thought.
He didn't pay much attention to Walker's flattery. He knew himself well, and without the assistance of magical items and his unique Blood Magic, Ivan doubted he could defeat Walker in Werewolf form so easily.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have needed to use the Magic Ring and drain the Magic Power he had painstakingly stored over the past few days.
He had simply overperformed to intimidate the other Werewolf wizards, and now he was stuck maintaining a facade he couldn't back up.
With this in mind, Ivan remarked, "Your Werewolf form is very powerful. If you had better control, you might have been able to beat me."
"How is that possible? I've heard Uncle and the others say that you used a powerful Spell to blow up an entire section of the street wall", Walker said, clearly disbelieving, his voice tinged with awe.
A few days earlier, Walker had asked about what happened after he lost control during his transformation.
He then learned that Ivan, after defeating him, had single-handedly held off all the Werewolf wizards and, as an afterthought, used a powerful Spell to reduce an entire section of the street wall to ruins!
Originally, Walker was not very convinced. He had never seen anyone cast such a terrifying Spell. Even after personally inspecting the ruins, he still had his doubts.
After all, in his memory, Ivan looked like nothing more than an eleven or twelve-year-old young wizard. The last time, it took both himself and Douglas to defeat him.
It wasn't until he challenged Ivan several times recently and was easily defeated each time that Walker finally believed it. He even elevated Ivan's strength in his mind to be on par with Fenrir.
No, perhaps even higher, because Fenrir couldn't easily destroy a section of a street wall with just one Spell.
Thinking about this, Walker asked curiously, "Ivan, what Spell did you use last time? It was so powerful!"
"That was Blazing Explosion! A highly advanced and destructive Spell", Ivan explained. He then looked at Walker's envious expression and smiled.
"The power of a Spell is closely related to the caster. If you were to cast this Spell, the power would probably be less than a third of what I can do."
Although he said this, Ivan could see that Walker really wanted to learn this Spell but was too embarrassed to say it outright. After some consideration, he spoke up.
"I can teach you this Spell, but your foundation is too poor. Learning Blazing Explosion recklessly would be risky, so it's better to start with some basic Spells first."
During their previous battles, Ivan had noticed that Walker's Spell foundation was shockingly weak. His Spells were inconsistent, sometimes strong and sometimes weak.
Upon asking, Ivan learned that Walker had once studied at the Durmstrang Institute, but unfortunately, his Werewolf identity was discovered by classmates in his second year. The school then received complaints from other parents, and he was subsequently expelled.
So Walker had never received proper formal education. Most of the Spells he knew were taught to him by Fenrir in his spare time.
Hearing Walker's story, Ivan felt a bit sorry for him. If Walker had attended Hogwarts, with a bit of luck, he might have made some friends like Lupin and graduated smoothly.
After all, Dumbledore treated students very well and never discriminated against those who were different. He even provided them with some assistance.
Walker, however, was not too bothered by his expulsion. In his view, not going to school was better. He didn't have to hide every month and be looked at with suspicion.
Ivan shook his head helplessly. He didn't know what to say about Walker's carefree attitude and decided to start teaching him basic Spells directly.
Although Ivan had only completed one year of studies, his theoretical foundation in fourth-level Spells was not inferior to that of adult wizards.
Moreover, he had recently learned many small tricks for casting Spells from Tom Riddle, so teaching Walker, a self-taught Werewolf wizard, was not a problem.
At first, Walker didn't pay much attention to Ivan's basic course. He thought he already knew these Spells and saw no need to relearn them. He was more interested in learning powerful Spells like Blazing Explosion.
However, Ivan had established his authority in several battles, so even though Walker was reluctant, he had to sit through the lessons.
After being forced to correct several mistakes in his casting process and trying them out himself, Walker was surprised to find that his Spells were indeed more powerful!
