Chapter 1479: Voldemort's Trial
Chapter 1479: Voldemort's Trial
"You've finally gotten your wish, you must be delighted!"
Staring at the message on the communication bookmark, Albert fell into a brief silence, contemplating whether to acknowledge the stranger on the other end.
If it were Babbitt, he would never send such a message unless his head had just been squeezed by a door.
"Why do you say that?"
After some hesitation, Albert raised his wand and modified the text on the communication bookmark, replying as the other person wished.
"The mysterious figure crushes the International Wizarding Federation, wasn't that exactly what you expected?"
The person on the other end seemed to be waiting for him, and shortly after Albert's reply, another message came through, as if the sender was eager to chat with Albert about something.
"Expected? No, you give me too much credit."
As the text on the communication bookmark disappeared, new words quickly appeared.
"Even I didn't anticipate that the International Wizarding Federation would be so feeble, easily crushed by the mysterious figure."
"It's not my fault!"
The owner of the other half of the communication bookmark seemed quite annoyed. "I warned them, but they just wouldn't listen..."
"I know you're not Babbitt. You didn't even mention the secret code we agreed upon."
"I am Babbitt, and we never discussed any secret code." The person on the other end sounded very certain.
"Indeed, there was no secret code. What do you want from me?"
"I hope you can help me."
"That's unlikely."
"I know this has something to do with you. Don't try to distance yourself. You must help me."
This sounded more like a threat.
However, Albert didn't take it seriously because he was sure that the person wasn't Babbitt.
The reason was simple—to prevent the communication bookmark from falling into the wrong hands, Albert and Babbitt had agreed upon a secret code.
"If you want to ask for help, you should correct your attitude first."
"I just don't want to be a scapegoat."
"Don't be foolish. They won't allow you to continue as the president. Someone has to take responsibility for this, and you are the best candidate, especially after you chose to hide." Albert had already guessed the identity of the person he was chatting with.
However, he didn't understand how the communication bookmark that should have been in Babbitt's possession ended up in Voldemort's hands.
Hadn't that person gone into hiding? Or was he captured?
"We can work together. We both want to defeat the mysterious figure."
"Work together?"
Albert's eyes lit up as he guessed that the real negotiation was about to begin.
"The mysterious figure seems to be searching for something all over Europe."
"He's looking for the legendary Deathstick." Albert's expression became increasingly strange.
"The legendary Deathstick, does it really exist?"
"I don't know."
"Whether the mysterious figure is looking for the Deathstick or not, we must stop him."
"Of course."
"That's wonderful. If you can find the whereabouts of that wand in front of the mysterious figure."
"I already have."
The person on the other end seemed stunned by this news.
"Really?"
"It's a lie. If I knew where the Deathstick was, I would definitely try to get my hands on it instead of letting the mysterious figure find it." A mischievous smile appeared on Albert's face. "Am I right, Tom?"
As the last line of text appeared on the communication bookmark, the person on the other end was stunned.
The next moment, an ominous green light illuminated the room.
The person fell heavily to the ground, and the communication bookmark slipped from his hand, only to be picked up by a pale hand from the floor.
A new line of text appeared: "Looks like you've killed again."
"Isn't this what you wanted to see?"
Voldemort glanced at the content on the communication bookmark and sneered, "You've always hated them, wishing to use my hand to get rid of them."
"I wouldn't say hate, but I do think they probably won't survive you."
"So, this was your doing all along?"
Voldemort's scarlet eyes shone with a dangerous light.
"Please don't associate me with those who like to plot and scheme." A pleasurable smile played on Albert's lips. "From start to finish, I've merely been a spectator."
"By the way, Harry Potter is your true enemy. Giving up on Potter and coming after me was a stupid mistake from the beginning."
As if to provoke the person on the other end, the text on the communication bookmark changed once more.
"In my prophecy, you will be defeated by the one you despise, Harry."
"Nonsense!"
As Voldemort prepared to destroy the annoying communication bookmark, new content appeared.
"Goodbye, I believe we will meet again soon."
Then, to his surprise, the bookmark began to burn, self-destructing.
...
"Are you sure this is okay?"
As she watched the communication bookmark burning, Isabel couldn't hide her worry.
She had witnessed the entire exchange and was concerned about Albert's actions.
"Don't worry, that guy can only rage helplessly." Albert glanced at his wand and said softly, "He never had a chance to win from the start."
"Not only is Dumbledore scheming against him, but even Snape is plotting his revenge for the one he loves."
"The most interesting part is that the mysterious figure probably never expected his left and right hands to be spies."
"I thought you disliked using Dark Magic."
Isabel still felt that Albert's rash contact with the mysterious figure was not a good choice, as it could easily expose his weaknesses.
"I don't like it, but to defeat the mysterious figure, some extraordinary means are necessary!" Albert shrugged.
"You're just making excuses to use the Unforgivable Curses."
"I have to admit, most wizards are a bunch of hypocrites."
"I think you're more hypocritical than them."
Katrina, who was knitting a towel, rolled her eyes.
"I still think you shouldn't provoke the mysterious figure. It's not a good idea. The more interaction there is, the more likely problems will arise." Isabel sighed. "I'd rather you focus your attention on the girls, and I don't want you to take risks. Gryffindor students usually like to court death."
"You know me..."
"Of course, I do, but anything can happen, dear. You've seen what those Gryffindor students stirred up at Hogwarts." Isabel fixed Albert with an oppressive gaze.
"They're not all Gryffindor students." Albert corrected her.
"Yes, maybe not all of them, but they're like you just now. Even knowing it's the mysterious figure, they still actively go and provoke him."
