Chapter 1471: A Trap? Or Not?
Chapter 1471: A Trap? Or Not?
At the same time, in Crystal Grid City, Su Yu looked up toward Star.
However, he quickly averted his gaze, no longer paying it any attention.
Battles between Leah, Female, and Planetary Ais were something he had seen countless times before.
Over the past few years, he had fought in numerous battles, large and small, to help Chant find the core data. This level of confrontation was commonplace to him, and there was no need to focus on it.
Currently, Su Yu was in the most central area of Crystal Grid City, the central control room of the entire Automaton Empire.
If the Automaton Empire were a human body, this place would be its nervous system.
The two Planetary Ais functioned as the empire’s brain, issuing commands and controlling the entire empire’s operations.
The nervous system transmitted information and orders, which were then conveyed through a network covering the entire planet to every single Automaton.
The lower-level Automatons, unlike carbon-based life forms, had no real freedom. They acted entirely according to orders and, to some extent, were not much different from completely thoughtless machines.
Before Su Yu was a massive wall composed of tens of thousands of circuit boards.
This wall was hundreds of meters long and dozens of meters high, with each circuit board covered in a dense network of wires, like intricate spiderwebs crisscrossing each other.
Su Yu, of course, had no idea what these circuit boards were for. He was a spirit energy practitioner and knew nothing about mechanics or electronics.
However, there were others who knew, such as the super AI Chant and the AI Blue Whale.
Notably, the entire wall of circuit boards was now covered in a faint blue glow.
This glow was not something the Automatons had applied; it had appeared only a few minutes ago.
The glow was actually Chant's manifestation.
Just moments ago, Chant had transformed into a blue glow, covering the entire wall, and began to study it.
Looking at the wall, Su Yu asked, "Lord Chant, are you certain the core data is inside?"
"Of course, I am certain", Chant's voice rang in Su Yu's ears, and it was rare to hear a mix of excitement and joy in its tone.
One of the core data files of Chant was indeed here.
When Su Yu first arrived at Gryla-13 and orbited the planet as a "human satellite", Chant had already locked onto the location of the core data, which was here.
However, it did not immediately have Su Yu come and retrieve it.
The secondary reason was that two Planetary Ais were guarding the location, and with Su Yu's strength, he might not have been able to take the core data without being detected.
The primary reason was that Chant was wary of a trap!
The reasoning was simple:
The powerful being who had stolen the core data was no ordinary entity, at least at the peak Star level, and possibly even at the Nebula level!
Imagine a Nebula-level being obtaining the core data but not taking it to the Crystal Blue Star System, instead leaving it on this obscure transit planet in the Triangulum Galaxy.
Currently, only two Planetary Ais were stationed on Gryla-13, and their strength was far below Su Yu's!
Why would such a situation exist?
Chant reasonably suspected that there was a trap, set by the enemy to lure it into a false sense of security.
Thus, Chant had been cautious, keeping Su Yu on standby and observing for a while.
...
However, as time passed, Chant began to suspect that it might have been overly cautious. No traps had been detected on the entire planet.
Now, the two Planetary Ais had left Gryla-13 and headed toward Star, and Chant had already made contact with the container holding the core data. Everything seemed to indicate that it had indeed been overly cautious, and there was no trap here.
"This shouldn't be a trap", Chant explained, speaking fluently in Su Yu's ear. "There must be some unknown reason why the core data was left here, allowing us to find it. So far, there are no signs of any enemies appearing!"
"Still, it would be wise to secure the core data first", Su Yu interrupted.
"It's almost in hand", Chant replied confidently. At the same time, the central area of the circuit board wall began to distort and deform, showing signs of opening.
"Please hurry", Su Yu shook his head. "We don't want the two Planetary Ais to return before you're done... Lord Chant, how long will it take you to open the wall?"
"Three minutes", Chant said.
"Three minutes..." Su Yu nodded. "That is indeed a short time. I hope nothing goes wrong."
Three minutes passed quickly, and there were still no traps or enemies on the entire planet.
In other words, there shouldn't be any unexpected issues, right? (End of Chapter)
