Chapter 1433: Indirect Approach
Chapter 1433: Indirect Approach
The lizard shopkeeper was unsure if Su Yu and his companions were aliens. Although they appeared to resemble them, who could tell if it was just an act?
With a head full of doubts, it could only continue cooking.
...
After eating for about an hour, Su Yu and Morningstar finally stopped.
With their strength, the concept of "full" didn't apply to them, but after eating for so long, they were starting to feel a bit sick of it.
Now, the utensils around the two of them had piled up like a mountain.
Seeing them as an obstruction, Morningstar directly tossed the empty utensils into her spatial ring, deciding to deal with them later when she had the time.
Feeling satisfied, she stretched lazily and said to Su Yu, "We've eaten enough! But Kexing, why did you come here? Why didn't you directly contact that 'test subject'?"
Morningstar had asked the question that had been weighing on her mind.
"Test subject?" Upon hearing these words, the lizard shopkeeper was startled. It quickly perked up its ears to listen.
"I want to too!" Su Yu lay contentedly in his seat and replied, "I was originally planning to find the test subject, but after much consideration and seeking the advice of Lady Seraph, I ultimately decided to take an indirect approach."
The lizard shopkeeper couldn't hear the words "Lady Seraph" as they were silenced.
"Indirect contact?" Morningstar furrowed her brows, a question mark appearing on her forehead. "What does indirect contact mean? And even if it's indirect contact, why did you come to such a remote place on the outskirts of the city...?"
Morningstar paused halfway through her sentence as she suddenly realized something.
She suddenly understood why Su Yu had come here:
Don't forget that this lizard shopkeeper is an Eighth Rank Mid-stage Cultivator. With a simple thought, one could guess that it was hiding here with a scheme.
The lizard shopkeeper's scheme was most likely related to the test subject. Su Yu probably wanted to follow this "vine" to find the "melon" that was the test subject, right?
"Shh! We'll continue waiting, the main subject is about to arrive." Su Yu smiled mysteriously, placing his index finger to his lips in a gesture for silence.
Then he said, "And we have an Eighth Rank Mid-stage chef cooking for us, what's there to complain about?"
"That's true, I'm quite satisfied," Morningstar nodded.
Realizing the situation, she suddenly felt her appetite surge!
"Chef! Bring me two more large pieces of that grilled Kado beast meat, and make it quick!" Morningstar urged the kitchen staff.
Lizard Shopkeeper: "..."
The lizard shopkeeper's face turned ashen; this was truly the most humiliating day of its life!
Moreover, Su Yu's words, "The main subject is about to arrive," made its heart sink.
This statement indicated that Su Yu had seen through all its plans, leaving nothing untouched.
It seemed that its entire scheme had been exposed, and there was no way out.
Not only was the lizard shopkeeper troubled, but Morningstar also had a heavy heart.
She truly felt the gap between herself and Su Yu.
Su Yu's spirit energy could cover the entire planet, while she, being only at the Eighth Rank Mid-stage, dared not extend her spirit energy too far.
This meant that the planet was transparent to Su Yu, allowing him to oversee the entire situation and make plans, while she was like an insider, surrounded by the "fog of war."
Su Yu could be the enigma, while she could only scratch her head in confusion within his riddles.
But what could be done about it?
About ten minutes later, as the lizard shopkeeper brought out the grilled meat, Morningstar could only vent her frustration by ravenously devouring the meat.
...
Su Yu was right; the main subject was indeed about to arrive.
Just as Morningstar was chewing on the grilled meat in frustration, two mechas, one white and the other multicolored, descended from the sky and landed in the empty space in front of the small shop.
The city resembled a cyberpunk setting from a Blue Star sci-fi movie, with an extreme wealth gap and a size beyond imagination!
Massive buildings thousands of meters tall stood in the city, and numerous channels crisscrossed the sky, through which various flying vehicles traveled.
These two mechas had descended from the main channel above the street, landing in this remote and dimly lit alley.
The term "cyberpunk" was fitting because some areas of the city were highly developed, with technology approaching the level of the Feege Hub!
However, some areas had residents living in extremely poor conditions.
Even the street in front of the shop lacked paved roads, consisting only of dirt, with garbage and uncollected corpses piling up in the corners.
Judging by this alley alone, the living conditions here were worse than those of the lower-class residents on Blue Star.
...
After the two mechas landed, their pilots stored them in spatial storage devices, revealing their true forms.
Morningstar looked at the two individuals and was surprised to find that they were both young Red-Skinned Human girls!
The older one looked around seventeen or eighteen, while the younger was about fifteen or sixteen.
Without hesitation, the two girls walked towards the shop.
