Who else could be so domineering at this time, other than Lu HaiKong?
After Lu HaiKong's tribe, the Hu Yin Tribe, entered the interior, he entrusted the group to Li Xiong and had Dian Wei accompany him for protection, while he himself returned ahead of time.
On one hand, Lu HaiKong was eager to confirm if the mountain fort had the potential for livestock development, and on the other, he was vaguely concerned about the fort's situation.
After all, the weather had been getting colder recently, and the raids by foreign tribes had reached their peak. Lu HaiKong worried that the fort's location might be discovered, and if foreign tribes invaded, he feared for the fort without his personal presence.
Additionally, Lu HaiKong was also concerned about the government. After all, the fort's activities were not insignificant, and it was normal for them to be discovered.
However, Lu HaiKong did not expect that when he hurried back, the fort was doing well, and there were no external enemies as he had feared. Instead, an internal strife broke out precisely when he returned.
Who could have known that Lu HaiKong, riding a horse, had traveled day and night, returning to the fort exhausted and covered in dust, only to be greeted not by a grand welcome ceremony or a warm meal, but by a series of loud roars and howls.
These roars and howls were undeniable proof of the anger and unease within those who shouted, and they felt like slaps across Lu HaiKong's face.
Thus, with a cold expression, Lu HaiKong rode his horse, carrying the Grimskull Cleaver on his back, to the site of the unrest.
His icy tone and the anger within his words, even a tsunami-like roar could not conceal, coupled with Lu HaiKong's frosty expression and the Grimskull Cleaver on his back, caused everyone blocking Lu HaiKong's path to involuntarily step aside, creating a path for Lu HaiKong to reach Wang Jun's side, the epicenter of the unrest.
"Such a grievance, such resentment, Wang Jun, tell me, what's going on here?" Lu HaiKong said coldly, dissatisfied with the situation before him. He had entrusted such a vast territory to Wang Jun, but upon his return, he was met with this scene. Lu HaiKong could not help but feel displeased with the situation.
"I have failed in my duties, please punish me, Lord!" Wang Jun's face was filled with shame, and he opened his mouth, only to bow deeply to Lu HaiKong and apologize guiltily.
"I'm asking about the situation here, where did these people come from? When I returned, I heard them roaring, saying they didn't want to live with us bandits, right? Saying they want to drive us out, right? Why are you making things difficult for them? Apologize to them and let them calm down." Lu HaiKong scanned the citizens present with a mocking expression.
Upon seeing Lu HaiKong's return, Zhang Tie felt the situation was not favorable. However, he believed he had already controlled the public's anger, with thousands of citizens on his side, and was not afraid of Lu HaiKong. He spoke boldly, "Apologies are unnecessary. We are honest citizens, and we don't want to associate with you bandits. Just leave the fort, and we won't hold your past mistakes against you."
As soon as Zhang Tie spoke, Lu HaiKong immediately lifted his eyes, his cold gaze like two sharp swords piercing Zhang Tie's heart.
"Who are you? I didn't give you permission to speak!"
Lu HaiKong's slender figure, with a hint of frost, appeared delicate and weak, but surprisingly domineering. Since his return, he had disregarded the anger of the thousands of furious citizens before him.
"Bandits are bandits; they're so domineering and powerful that they won't even let others speak. What should we do about such people...?"
"Do you believe me if I say that I'll kill you if you utter another word?"
Before Zhang Tie could finish his sentence, Lu HaiKong's icy words rang out, piercing Zhang Tie's heart like an ice needle, causing his body to tingle.
Although Lu HaiKong successfully silenced Zhang Tie, he infuriated the citizens. From the moment Lu HaiKong appeared, he had displayed his dominance, but without the backing of force, this dominance was baseless and only served to irritate people further.
"Where did this kid come from? He's so young, yet he has the aura of a rogue."
"He must be a bastard raised by bandits; he's so fierce that he's probably not a good person."
"Regardless of who he is, we will not stay with these bandits."
"Yes, all of you bandits, get out of this fort..."
Amidst the surging accusations, many were incited by Zhang Tie's fellow citizens, but even more were the ill-intentioned individuals within the crowd, spontaneously insulting Lu HaiKong with wave after wave of insults, like a tsunami of verbal abuse.
Lu HaiKong vowed that this was the most he had ever been accused and insulted by so many people in his life.
Growing up, Lu HaiKong had rarely been scolded. He was a well-behaved boy, often praised by his teachers. Later, as he became a recluse, his interactions with others diminished, and being scolded was even rarer.
In a 6191 book, he found no errors!
This was the first time he had been scolded by so many people, especially by a group of peasants who could say anything. No matter how harsh the words were, Lu HaiKong heard them all this time.
The experience was far from pleasant, and Lu HaiKong was so infuriated that he felt an urge to kill right then and there. He wasn't the only one with this impulse; amidst the barrage of insults, a piercing, miserable scream suddenly echoed.
In the crowd, Ma Pen, who had been ignored due to Lu HaiKong's appearance, narrowed his eyes, holding a person's head in one hand while coldly observing those who had spoken ill of Lu HaiKong. With an icy tone, he declared, "Those who disrespect the lord will be shown no mercy!"
His chilling words, resolute will, and serious expression were almost miraculous, as a single Ma Pen managed to intimidate thousands. This also revealed that the crowd was merely a mob.
Lu HaiKong knew that Ma Pen couldn't intimidate them for long, and their fear would soon turn to anger. However, he didn't intend to give them the time or opportunity to do so.
"Wang Ti, don't tell me you've been standing here since the beginning, doing nothing. That would greatly disappoint me!" Lu HaiKong turned to look at Wang Ti, who remained calm.
"My lord, the archers and bandits are ready. Please give the order!" Wang Ti knelt on one knee, respectfully.
As Wang Ti's words fell, within the fort, archers appeared on the arrow towers, surrounding the thousands of citizens with their bows drawn. Meanwhile, the sound of horse hooves echoed inside the fort.
