Chapter 14

Vivian picked up a stone as large as an adult's fist.





She had other stones inside her satchel but decided that they weren't big enough and looked at the 2 trunk monsters rushing toward her.





She threw the stone in her hand with all of her strength at one of the monsters.





Braaak!





One of the monster's body cracked open and it fell to the ground.





Ding!





'Unlocked [Throw Mastery] - Level 1!'





Vivian ignored the message and focused on the remaining monster. She rushed forward and delivered a flying kick.





Bam!





Thud!





The monster's body didn't crack open but it tumbled to the ground. 





It tried to get up but was halted by another kick.





Pah!





The monster's body slid a few feet away on the ground.





Tch!





Vivian made a clicking sound with her tongue.





My normal attacks still aren't enough to break this monster's body with one or two attacks…





The monster tried to get up again.





Vivian ran around and positioned herself behind the monster's back. And when the monster finally got up and was about to turn around to face Vivian, it received another kick.





It was something like a push-front kick.





Pah!





Thud!





With the monster lying on its stomach, Vivian rushed forward and began stomping it to death.





Bam!





Bam!





Bam!





Braaak!





Ding!





'Unlocked [Leg Mastery] - Level 2!'





Vivian took a couple of deep breaths.





"Haaa... Haaa... Haa... Haa..."





"What's wrong with these monsters…?"





Spit!





"At the beginning... I was able to do sneak attacks on them…"





"Now... the moment I get closer or they see me... they just immediately come rushing towards me…!"





I'm supposed to be getting stronger so normally the monsters should be afraid of me, right…?





Then why...?!





This doesn't make any sense…!

I have 4 magic skills now but my mana is still only 24 points…





Does this mean using magic skills in this world is scarce…?





But then again, my class is Thief and the way I've been fighting has been physical attacks…





And speaking of Thief, I wonder what level will I get some kind of invisibility skill...? 





I mean, that's how Thieves are, right...? 





It's basic RPG rules, it's a universal rule...





And oh, I also want the skill that every protagonist has -- viewing the status panel of others...!





I wonder when will I have that...





And I also want a spatial storage...!





She closed the Status Panel.





All of a sudden, a fox lunged over Vivian from the side.





Rawr!





"SHIT!"





Thud!





Startled but the unexpected attack, Vivian tried to evade it but tripped and fell down to the ground on her rear.





"AHHH!"





She cried out in pain because the fox bit her on the leg, near her calf. It bit harder and began to wiggle its head.





"ARGH!"





Vivian cast [Power Leg] with her other leg and aimed for the fox's head.





Pah!





Craaack!





Arw!!!





Thud!





The skin, meat and bones on the left side of the fox's face were torn to shreds and its body was blown a few feet away.





Seeing the fox not moving, Vivian let out a deep sigh.





"Fuck…!"





She checked her leg which got bitten and that it left holes in her pants.





"Motherfucker!"





Vivian was wearing a pair of high-cut leather shoes that only reached a few inches above her ankle. The fox bit her around her calves that didn't have any protection other than her worn-out green pants.





She got up and began examining the mobility of her injured leg -- doing shadow kicks, circular motions and whatnot.





It's still throbbing in pain but I can still move...





However…





She recalled the poison effects of the other monsters.





I could have rabies now…





She glanced at her satchel.





Should I…?





Can a healing potion also cure rabies…?





This owner's body is a fucking Thief and working solo and doesn't even have antidotes…!





Fucking useless…!





She calmed herself down for about a minute or two.





"It's still throbbing..."





"Fuck it."





She took out one of the bottles, the first one, of course, and then drank it.





Gulp.





Vivian felt a refreshing feeling course all over her body.





The first thing she noticed was that the throbbing pain she felt in her leg lessened. The throbbing sensation was still there, but it was nowhere near as uncomfortable or noticeable compared to before.





She tried moving her leg.





It feels much better now…





She examined the thin cuts on her skin that she sustained from a while ago.





The blood already dried up a long time ago so she began scratching it to see what was underneath.





I guess I can say that the cuts have become smaller of less visible…?





Vivian couldn't tell with 100% confidence because these cuts were too thin and she got them a while ago that the blood already dried up a long time ago.





She got down on one knee, raised the hem of her pants to her knees and checked the bite wound.





There were still small visible punctured bite marks on her skin, but there was no blood.





It is safe to touch the wound…?





Even in her original world, this was Vivian's first time getting bitten by a fox, dog or any animal species similar to it so she doesn't really know much about rabies.





In fact, she doesn't even know if rabies can even be transmitted via touch. The only thing she knows, and isn't even sure if it's true, is that rabies makes someone feral and salivate and then die if left untreated for days.





In the end, she decided not to touch it.





If I had soap, water, alcohol and surgical gloves, I would've touched it…





She looked at her hand and made an open and close motion.





I feel refreshed but I still feel hungry, tired and a little thirsty…





I definitely need more information and possibly even do some live tests about healing potions…





She got up, picked up her stick and placed the empty healing potion inside her satchel before resuming to head over to the city.
