Chapter 14: The Rally Token
Chapter 14: The Rally Token
September 25, 2017
Moon, the little sister, shot a glance at Lu HaiKong, indicating she had no time to deal with him right now. She reached for a potion from her bag, one that was clearly for treating weapon injuries, and began applying it to her wounds.
Moon's injuries were severe, making it a challenging task, and some wounds were on her back, out of her reach. Without hesitation, she handed the potion to Lu HaiKong, signaling for him to help her apply the medicine.
Lu HaiKong, still reeling from the brutality he had just witnessed, quietly set down the giant axe he was barely holding onto and approached Moon. He took the potion from her and began treating her wounds as she calmly undressed.
Throughout the process, Lu HaiKong was nothing but serious, and his focus was solely on the task at hand. There was no room for wandering thoughts in this situation, only a sense of cautiousness and nervousness.
This was necessary, as Lu HaiKong, having just snapped out of his daze, was still afraid of the boldness of Moon's actions. What was this girl up to? Why was she making him do something so seductive? He thought to himself, "She must know that she's an old maid who will never marry, and she's eyeing my good looks. To avoid growing old alone, she wants to seduce me and make me her husband for life."
"Hmph, I won't fall for that trick. I'd rather remain single than be with someone like her!" Lu HaiKong felt proud of his own cleverness in seeing through her intentions. He remained strictly proper, not daring to make any moves that might accidentally arouse this she-wolf and lead to his own demise.
"Oh, and sister, why are your attributes different from mine?" Lu HaiKong suddenly remembered Zhang San's attributes and couldn't help but ask, displaying his studious nature.
"You mean the Strength attribute? Once you cultivate Inner Power and raise a single attribute to ten points, you'll be able to see it."
"Also, in this game, the most important thing isn't attributes or levels. The most crucial aspect is skills, or martial arts techniques. Once you reach a certain level, attributes will become more fixed, and points will be converted into Strength. The most influential factor on Strength is the level of your martial arts skills. So, your focus should be on cultivating those skills."
Moon enthusiastically explained to Lu HaiKong, the foodie. When she mentioned martial arts cultivation, her face couldn't hide her envy, jealousy, and resentment. Lu HaiKong's talent for martial arts cultivation far surpassed ordinary people.
Just as Lu HaiKong finished applying medicine to Moon, her envious expression was automatically interpreted by him as a lustful gaze. He quickly moved away from her to protect his chastity.
"What are you doing?" Moon blinked her innocent and confused eyes, not understanding why Lu HaiKong was running away from her.
"Me? I'm just...collecting the loot, yeah, the loot from our battle. Ahaha, ahaha." Lu HaiKong responded with a silly laugh and then squatted down to gather the spoils of their fight.
Although the battle had been challenging, the rewards were impressive. Lu HaiKong had single-handedly taken down twenty to thirty bandits, earning about ten copper coins from each one. Collecting the scattered coins resulted in a total of three to four hundred coins. However, the real treasure was the various basic martial arts skills scattered on the ground. Lu HaiKong took a look and found that he had almost all of them, except for 'Fundamental Inner Strength'. There were about ten books in total.
These were the small fry enemies Lu HaiKong had defeated, but the real jackpot came from Zhang San.
This guy was clearly a small Boss, and the loot he dropped was exceptional. Lu HaiKong found ten gold coins he had never seen before, a book titled 'Gale Blade Technique', and another copy of 'Fundamental Inner Strength'. Additionally, there was a wooden plaque called the 'Rally Token'.
Lu HaiKong picked up the item and realized it was a valuable find.
Rally Token
Identity/Territory Item
Effect: After using this token, you can build a small mountain bandit camp.
Usage Conditions: Bandit Chief Level 5, Strength: 30, Command: 10, Gold: 100
With this, Lu HaiKong could become a Mountain Chief. Despite his usual silly demeanor, he secretly yearned for the prestige of being a formidable Mountain Chief.
However, after checking the usage conditions, Lu HaiKong felt he still had a long way to go.
Gathering all the items, Lu HaiKong carefully held them and sat down at a distance from Yue'er. He divided the coins he had smashed into two piles, giving half to Yue'er. He also generously split the gold from Zhang San in half, keeping one portion for himself and giving the rest to Yue'er.
This included the coveted "Gale Blade Technique" and the "Rally Token."
Despite his appearance, Lu HaiKong had principles. He could take advantage of Yue'er's kindness, but he wouldn't touch the items she had fought hard for, even if he was tempted.
"Why? All for me? You seem to want this a lot." Yue'er, noticing Lu HaiKong's intense gaze at the Rally Token, couldn't resist teasing him.
"It's useless to me. I'm not even a Bandit Chief. What would I do with it? Besides, you earned it. What if I took it and you demanded repayment in flesh? No way, I don't want it!" Lu HaiKong shook his head vigorously, realizing he was still afraid of Yue'er's combat form, which had left a deep psychological scar.
A 69-rated novel, no mistakes!
"Don't worry, I'm not interested in you. Take it, I'm generous!"
Yue'er tried to persuade him with various temptations, but Lu HaiKong refused. He feared that his delicate beauty would be taken advantage of by this female Tyrannosaurus.
Seeing his refusal, Yue'er didn't insist. She took out a scroll from her bosom and tossed it to Lu HaiKong.
"What's this?" Lu HaiKong asked, taking the warm scroll that exuded a faint fragrance.
"It's a map. It shows most of the monster locations in Yanmen Prefecture. Here, you wanted a Rally Token, right? You can get one by defeating a Bandit Chief. If you don't want this, you can get your own when you're stronger." Yue'er stood up, tidied herself, and collected her loot.
"What are you doing?" Lu HaiKong had a bad feeling.
"I'm leaving. I can't treat you to a meal, Lu HaiKong. We'll part ways here." Yue'er turned to leave, then paused and said, "Oh, and Lu HaiKong, a word of advice: try not to reveal your identity as an Outsider Bandit. Stay away from the county town, and..." She took the rations from Lu HaiKong's embrace and added, "I'm taking these."
With a playful smile, Yue'er strode away.
