Chapter 14: I Need to Take a Leave
Chapter 14: I Need to Take a Leave
Qiao Sang looked at Dai Shushu for two seconds and smiled, "Yeah, is there anything else?"
Dai Shushu's eyes narrowed slightly, and she shook her head, "No."
Qiao Sang turned and returned to the classroom.
As soon as she sat down, Fang Sisi leaned over, "What did Dai Shushu say to you? Your face looks so bad."
"Does my face look that bad?" Qiao Sang asked.
"Yep, you look like you could scare someone to death", Fang Sisi joked.
If there was a mirror, Qiao Sang would have checked her face.
Fang Sisi then asked, "What did Dai Shushu want anyway?"
"Nothing much." Qiao Sang picked up her book and started reading again.
Fang Sisi wanted to ask more, but seeing that Qiao Sang didn't want to talk about it, she closed her mouth.
When the morning classes ended, Qiao Sang packed her things and went to the office of the third-year junior high department.
"Teacher, I need to take a leave", Qiao Sang said, staring at the teacher's thick hair.
The teacher stood up abruptly.
Another female teacher in the office immediately looked over.
The teacher tried to control himself, "Do you know what you're saying? The High School Entrance Exam is only a few days away, and you're asking for a leave? I haven't even dealt with your last truancy yet."
Qiao Sang said seriously, "Teacher, if you don't give me a leave, I'll have to skip class. I'll write the self-criticism later."
A vein on the teacher's temple throbbed, "Does your family know about this leave?"
Qiao Sang didn't answer.
The teacher took a deep breath, sat down, and said earnestly, "If you don't want your mother to come to school again, you should go back to class. The last time was my mistake, but even if you've had a Spontaneous Awakening, you can't neglect your studies. The High School Entrance Exam is just a few days away."
Qiao Sang smiled, "Last Friday, my mother came to school, and you were there too."
The teacher was taken aback and replied, "I asked your mother to come to school to explain your truancy."
Qiao Sang tilted her head and asked, "Why did you make my mother leave?"
The teacher was stunned, his face showing a complex expression, thinking that Qiao Sang's mother must have told her this. He didn't know how to respond.
He shared an office with the homeroom teacher of Class 9.
That day, Dai Shushu and her mother came to the school, coinciding with Qiao Sang's mother's visit.
Dai Shushu had just been Directly Admitted to Holy Water High School, and the Head of Discipline was there to congratulate her.
The office's attention was naturally focused on Class 9.
At that moment, Qiao Sang's mother explained that her daughter had spontaneously awoken and gone to bond with a familiar, and in her excitement, she forgot to ask for leave.
Children might lie, but adults wouldn't be so irresponsible. He naturally believed her.
This should have been a happy event, but unexpectedly, everyone in the office started asking questions, and all of Qiao Sang's past issues came to light.
Dai Shushu's mother made some sarcastic remarks, and Qiao Sang's mother got into an argument with her.
Dai Shushu cried on the side.
As the school's prized student, she couldn't be allowed to feel wronged, so the Head of Discipline ordered Qiao Sang's mother to leave.
The teacher considered himself a competent educator.
He didn't engage in office politics, worked diligently, and after 20 years, finally became a homeroom teacher.
By then, his initial enthusiasm had waned, and he didn't dare to stand up for his students' parents who were treated differently.
But he didn't think he had done anything wrong; he was just an observer. There was no need to explain the details to a child.
The teacher paused and said, "It wasn't a dismissal; it was a request for her to calm down."
Qiao Sang smiled, "I understand, but that request made my mother sick. You know my family situation; only I can take care of her."
The teacher's composure faltered, and he asked, "How long do you need to take off?"
Qiao Sang answered, "Until my mother gets better."
Class Teacher hesitated for a moment before saying, "You need to come back early, the High School Entrance Exam is only a few days away."
Qiao Sang nodded and turned to leave.
Watching Qiao Sang's back, Class Teacher, still worried, added, "Even at home, you should study hard. The High School Entrance Exam is just around the corner. Come back as soon as your mother feels better."
Qiao Sang turned her head and glanced at Class Teacher, smiling. "Teacher, your wig is crooked."
Class Teacher: “….”
Female Teacher: “…..”
…
…
Hanggang Xiangzhen Beast Battle Club.
"How much does your club charge for a Junior to accompany a practice session for a day?"
"Hello, our practice sessions are charged per hour. A Junior costs 1000 Union Coins per hour. If you book a full day, we can give you a 2% discount", the front desk attendant smiled and replied.
The Beast Battle Club can provide different practice partners based on the client's requirements. As a popular industry in modern society, it has spread across various neighborhoods and districts.
Some of the listed Beast Battle Clubs can even arrange for S-Class Beastmasters to be practice partners if you can afford it, though there aren't many such clubs.
Xiangzhen Beast Battle Club was the fifth club Qiao Sang had visited.
The reason she had visited so many Beast Battle Clubs was simple: she didn't have enough money.
Qiao Sang touched the meager amount of money in her pocket and silently walked out, holding Fangflare.
Qiao Sang felt a bit lost, unsure of where to go next.
She had always taken a laissez-faire attitude toward Holy Water High School. If she could pass the Special Recruitment, that would be great, but if not, she still had the Sixth Beast Control High School as a backup, so it wasn't a big deal.
But now, she wanted to attend this school.
The Special Recruitment exam for Holy Water High School was in ten days. Given her current level, she wasn't even sure if she could pass the minimum score for the High School Entrance Exam.
To be admitted, candidates ranked second to fifth needed to score 50 points higher than the minimum score, and Qiao Sang wasn't confident about that.
Given the situation, she had to aim for the top spot in the Special Recruitment exam to secure the minimum score for the High School Entrance Exam.
Having made this decision, she needed to start training Fangflare immediately.
Fangflare, though a Fire Familiar with strong offensive power, was still a youngling and lacked combat experience. Her previous victory was largely due to the 2v1 advantage and the opponent's slow reaction.
If she went to the Special Recruitment exam like this, there was little chance of her coming in first.
With only ten days left, staying at school would be a waste of time. She could study on her own while training Fangflare.
She had a Golden Finger, and through combat, she could significantly improve Fangflare's fighting skills in a short period.
Qiao Sang had a good plan, but she was stumped once she stepped out.
There were many familiar battles and venues of various sizes, but they came with their own requirements, such as the Beastmaster's rank.
Familiar battles were also about earning ratings and ticket sales. New Beastmasters typically had only one Junior familiar, and their battles were predictable, lacking excitement.
Since the audience wouldn't enjoy it, there was no incentive for organizers to run such events at a loss.
Qiao Sang checked and found that the next F-Class Beastmaster competition in Hanggang City was on June 30th.
The timing was perfect. By then, all third-year junior high students would have finished their High School Entrance Exams and bonded with their familiars.
There would be a large number of new Beastmasters eager to participate.
Additionally, their parents, teachers, and various relatives and friends would form a solid audience base, ensuring high ratings.
