Chapter 139: Charged Particle Cannon (Second Update)
Chapter 139: Charged Particle Cannon (Second Update)
As Ivan's Electric Whip wildly swung, finally dealing with all the Bison charging at him, he suddenly sensed something and turned to look behind him.
"Hey, buddy, how about a taste of my particle cannon?"
Jerry saw Ivan turn around and, instead of continuing to charge his particle cannon, thrust the super particle cannon in his hands forward.
The particle cannon, larger than a basketball, flew away from Jerry's hands like a wild horse, radiating a destructive aura as it hurtled toward Ivan.
Ivan immediately knew he was in trouble and was about to activate his Thruster to dodge, but the battle with Tony and Rhodey, along with the collisions from dozens of Bison, had left his Whip Cable Suit damaged.
This caused his Thruster to activate a second slower than usual, and that second was all it took to ensure he couldn't evade Jerry's particle cannon.
"Boom!"
A deafening explosion echoed, accompanied by a blinding flash and a powerful shockwave that nearly knocked Jerry off the Bison's back.
When the dust settled, a five-meter-wide crater appeared where Ivan had been standing, and half of his Whip Cable Suit was completely gone.
As for Ivan himself, his body was a bloody, mangled mess, and he was silent.
Colonel Tony and Rhodey approached the crater, looking down at Ivan's pitiful remains, and a thought crossed both their minds:
"This young wizard is not someone to be trifled with!"
Previously, Jerry had given Tony the impression of a kid who could perform magic tricks and make herbal potions, someone who had saved his life.
Now, his opinion of Jerry had changed dramatically.
At the very least, he couldn't look at this young wizard with the same eyes he would use for a child.
Riding a Bison to the deep crater, Jerry looked at Colonel Tony and Rhodey, who were sitting on a nearby stone, tired from the battle:
"Finally, it's over, right?"
"Thanks, it's over. This was Ivan Vanko, the mastermind behind the entire incident, and now he—"
Tony glanced at the crater again:
"Probably won't be causing any more trouble!"
"Stay here and rest, I'll go check the Exhibition Hall to see if anyone needs help!"
With a wave of his wand, Jerry transformed the Bison back into a charging symbol and put it away. Then, he took out his broom and left the Simulated Ecosystem Garden.
The Robot Riot had left many civilians injured from bullets and various explosives. If he went now, he could use the Swift Healing Curse to save more people and earn some more Little Red Stars.
Watching Jerry ride his flying broom into the sky, Colonel Rhodey finally spoke:
"This young wizard is not simple!"
"Of course not. Although I hate to admit it, his magic is quite impressive!"
Tony opened his helmet and sighed.
As a top-tier scientist, he had always been skeptical of magic, but now he had to admit that Jerry's magic was indeed powerful.
However, Colonel Rhodey shook his head:
"I'm not talking about his magic. Do you think a kid his age would be so calm if it was their first time killing someone?"
"Although I don't know why, I think... she's a good person!"
Recalling how calmly Jerry had looked at Ivan's body, Tony finally understood.
However, based on the information he had previously gathered about the wizard and his recent encounters, he suspected there might be more to the story. At the very least, he was certain that the wizard was not a bad person.
"Alright, that's not the main issue. Let's focus on cleaning up the mess. I need to find Pepper. She's still mad at me!"
Re-fastening his helmet, Tony took off toward the Exhibition Hall.
Rhodey didn't say much, but as he saw the "Ex-Wife" still lying quietly in the stream, he muttered under his breath:
"Justin Hammer, you're finished!"
The military had originally planned to sign a twenty-five-year contract with Hammer Industries after the robot soldier demonstration. However, following the Robot Riot and the failure of the ultimate weapon produced by Hammer Industries, the contract was out of the question.
Worse still, this incident might land Justin Hammer in prison for a few years.
After returning to the Exhibition Hall, Jerry quickly found Hass, who was helping maintain order and treating the injured. Using the little magic power he had left, Jerry cast a Healing Spell to assist some of the critically injured, ensuring they could hold on until they reached the hospital.
Feeling that enough time had passed, he didn't linger and returned to the parking lot of the Exhibition Hall, quietly retrieving Pizarro's car from his Box Space.
Sitting back in his original position, Jerry pointed at Pizarro in the driver's seat and cast a Reviving Charm, then closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.
Pizarro slowly opened his eyes, looking around in confusion:
"What happened? Right, I need to get out of here quickly!"
Recalling the Robot Riot at the Exhibition Hall, Pizarro hurriedly started the car again.
"Belle, huh? Belle, what's wrong with you?"
As the car started moving, Pizarro noticed that Belle had fainted, along with the two children in the back.
Thankfully, he checked their breathing and found it to be normal, so he stepped on the gas and drove out of the Exhibition Hall's garage, eager to put some distance between them and the chaos.
However, as soon as he exited the garage, he realized that the area outside was filled with police, and the dangerous robots were nowhere to be seen.
Glancing at the time on the car's display, he saw that it had been a full forty minutes since they had left the Exhibition Hall:
"Could it be that those robot soldiers were equipped with anesthetic weapons?"
Pizarro's first thought was that the robot soldiers might have used Anesthetic Smoke Bombs, and they had inhaled some while leaving the Exhibition Hall, causing them to fall into a deep sleep.
Meanwhile, Jerry, who was still pretending to sleep in the back, flicked his fingers and cast Reviving Charms on Miss Berry and Elsa.
As Miss Berry and Elsa opened their eyes in confusion, Jerry also feigned a look of bewilderment.
"Knock! Knock! Knock!"
The car window was tapped, and Pizarro rolled it down to see Hass, looking surprised:
"Weren't you supposed to have left by now? Why are you still here?"
Hass had been helping with the aftermath of the Robot Riot, coordinating with the other officers who had arrived on the scene. He had just happened to glance over and noticed Pizarro's car parked not far from the Exhibition Hall, so he walked over, puzzled.
After all, Pizarro and the others should have left the area forty minutes ago.
"What, Hass, how did you get back here?"
Belle, who had just woken up, looked at Hass through the window, her face full of surprise.
Hass: "???"
Pizarro: "..."
Jerry and Elsa both wore expressions of confusion.
