Chapter 137: Water Elemental Familiar
Chapter 137: Water Elemental Familiar
Following this train of thought, Qiao Sang became increasingly convinced that there was a high possibility of a Supernatural Creature being involved.
Whenever she went online, she would frequently come across netizens sharing strange occurrences in their homes.
Like a home phone ringing for no reason, only to find no one on the other end when they answered. After it happened multiple times, the netizen simply unplugged the phone line, but the phone continued to ring occasionally.
It wasn't until the Patrol Department showed up that they discovered a Bell Spirit had taken up residence inside the phone.
Or the phenomenon of not seeing one's face in the mirror.
Waking up to find all their hair gone.
Each and every one of these incidents was the work of a Supernatural Creature.
After a moment of deep thought, Qiao Sang brought Fangy to the courtyard's pond.
Water was easily associated with Water-Type Supernatural Creatures, and the first place she thought of was the pond, the area in the house with the most water.
As soon as she saw the pond, Qiao Sang knew her guess was mostly correct.
Yesterday, Fangy and its clones had been throwing Sparks into the pond, causing most of the water to evaporate and overflow. She hadn't had the chance to refill it yet.
But now, the pond was brimming with water, showing no signs of having decreased.
After staring at the pond for a while, Qiao Sang turned and went back to the bedroom.
"Ya?"
Fangy followed, looking puzzled, not understanding what its Beastmaster was doing.
Although Fangy's Evolution into a Flame Listener had strengthened its tacit understanding and intuition with Qiao Sang, it couldn't always grasp what she was thinking unless she explicitly expressed it or her emotions were visible on her face. <|im_end|>
"If my guess is correct, there should be a Water-Type familiar in our house, and the water on you was likely caused by it", Qiao Sang explained, sitting on the edge of the bed.
Fangy froze, its eyes instantly blazing with fire.
Treasure Seeker curiously looked around, as if trying to spot the Water Elemental Familiar.
"But don't worry, I'll call the Patrol Department to have them come over", Qiao Sang said, reaching for her mobile phone.
Naturally, the first thing to do when encountering a wild Supernatural Creature in the city was to call the Patrol Department.
She wasn't a Professional Beastmaster, and no one in their right mind would try to handle it themselves.
Qiao Sang had never even considered keeping this wild familiar.
Some Beastmasters who couldn't afford to buy a familiar might try to bond with one they found, but she was about to become a millionaire with five million in assets. Her first familiar, Fangflare, was exceptionally talented, and her second, Treasure Seeker, was also remarkably gifted.
The third familiar would definitely be carefully chosen, not just any old one would do.
Besides, she didn't even have the third page of her Beastmaster Codex yet.
She didn't know what this familiar was, nor whether it was dangerous, so the best course of action was to let the Patrol Department handle it.
Just as Qiao Sang was about to dial the Patrol Department's number, a paw with red fur pressed down on her hand.
"Ya!"
Qiao Sang looked up to see Fangy shaking its head indignantly.
"Ya!"
"Ya Ya!"
Qiao Sang paused, "You mean you want to find it and give it a beating?"
"Ya!"
Fangy's eyes blazed with fury. Such a disgrace could not go unpunished; it would find the culprit and engage in a fierce battle!
"Xun Xun!"
Treasure Seeker raised its milk bottle in support, showing no hesitation.
Qiao Sang fell silent for a moment, and then realized this might not be a bad idea.
From what she could see, this unknown familiar had only made Fangy wet and hadn't caused any real harm. It didn't seem to have a violent nature.
And high-level familiars are usually large in size.
But this familiar isn't showing any signs, so it must be small and not very high-level.
With this thought, Qiao Sang jumped to her feet.
"Alright, we'll handle it ourselves!"
"Fang!"
"Xun!"
The two beasts and one human set off toward the courtyard with a fierce determination.
...
By the pond.
"It should be here", Qiao Sang nodded to Fangy.
"Fang!"
Fangy immediately summoned all its clones, surrounding the pond and bombarding it with Sparks. With the original Fangy providing a boost, the Sparks were much more powerful than they had been the previous day.
Before long, most of the water in the pond had been evaporated.
But nothing else happened—there was no sign of the Water Elemental Familiar being blasted out as Qiao Sang had imagined.
Could she have been wrong? No, that shouldn't be the case...
Fangy didn't doubt that the culprit was in the pond. If its Beastmaster said it was there, it must be there.
"Fang!"
Seeing that the Sparks had no effect, Fangy's eyes grew even sharper.
The 15 clones disappeared simultaneously.
In the next second, a massive energy sphere began to condense in front of it.
Qiao Sang quickly retreated to the eaves with Treasure Seeker, not stopping it but warning, "Remember to control the position of the Mars Rain."
What she liked most about this house was the spacious and barren courtyard, free of any plants that could be damaged. This allowed her to practice the large-area attack skill, Mars Rain.
When it came time to move, she could just find a Beastmaster with an Earth-type familiar to renovate the place.
This was Fangy's first time using Mars Rain after evolving into a Flame Listener. While the power was still unknown, Qiao Sang was more concerned about whether Fangy would misfire after such a long break from using Mars Rain.
If it went off near the house, she would be in real trouble.
Fangy blinked to show it understood, unable to speak as it was condensing the energy sphere.
Meanwhile, a small ripple appeared in a puddle a few meters away from the pond.
A single eye opened stealthily.
The eye looked up at the energy sphere rising into the sky with a serious expression.
It felt a strong sense of unease.
Just as it was considering whether to move, Mars Rain erupted, and dozens of fireballs trailing red flames descended from the sky.
One of them landed directly in front of it.
Qiao Sang looked up at the rain of fire that covered most of the courtyard. Both the number of fireballs and the size of each Crimson Flame were noticeably different from before.
The fiery rain fell intensely, scorching the ground with its hot energy.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!!"
Several loud explosions echoed as the ground split open, sending dust and rocks flying like arrows in all directions.
The scorching flames danced across the ground, lapping at the earth.
Even from a distance, Qiao Sang could feel the intense heat wave.
Qiao Sang stared in amazement at the ground that was now mostly cracked and broken.
She was confident that with this Mars Rain, she could easily stand her ground in a battle against Litan Beastmaster High School.
The strongest students at Beastmaster high schools usually had Intermediate Beasts, and how many of them could master Advanced Skills?
"Fangy"
Fangy was also stunned by the scene before it.
It was that powerful...
When the fire rain finally subsided, Qiao Sang and Fangy were still in awe of the power of Mars Rain.
"Xun!"
"Xun Xun!"
Treasure Seeker pointed excitedly at a spot.
Qiao Sang snapped back to reality and followed the direction.
There, lying on the ground, was a Light Blue Companion about 30 centimeters long.
