Chapter 137: "The Outlaw Squad"
Chapter 137: "The Outlaw Squad"
"Hiss?"
"Do we want to go in and explore?" Ghastly asked, clearly intrigued.
Deeply influenced by the adventures in The Adventures of Bubble Squirrel, Ghastly was eager to try out some exploration of its own.
The place wasn't far from the Shirona Historical Research Institute.
However, if they ventured deeper into Mount Coronet, they would encounter some powerful wild Pokemon.
"Ow~"
Ice Tail shook its head, suggesting they be more cautious. What if they encountered danger?
The little Blacksmith in Jing He's arms didn't say anything. It just tilted its head, gazing at something in the forest with a puzzled expression.
Before Jing He could respond, Green, who had just left with a casual air, came running back with Charmander, looking panicked. His forehead was drenched in sweat, as if he had encountered something terrifying.
Following closely behind were a group of Skuntank and Stunky, chasing after them.
When Green reached Jing He, he panted, "Hurry, run! Go find reinforcements!"
Reinforcements?
A single Stunky's stench can spread over a two-kilometer radius. If this group of Stunky and Skuntank reached the Shirona Historical Research Institute, the "Pokemon Researcher Conference" would likely have to be canceled or relocated. The institute itself would also be contaminated.
Jing He ignored Green and said, "Little Blacksmith."
"Chirp!"
The little Blacksmith, which had been lost in thought, perked up at Jing He's voice. Seeing the group of Stunky and Skuntank charging over, it understood immediately.
It leaped from Jing He's arms.
Plop.
It landed on the ground, facing the approaching Stunky and Skuntank with a friendly smile, gently swinging its small hammer.
The Stunky and Skuntank didn't seem fazed at all, even ignoring Little Blacksmith's presence.
What use is such a cute little thing?
Green also saw this and was confused about what Jing He was planning. If they were going to fight, shouldn't the more powerful Ghastly be the one to step up? He barely recognized the small, pink, and adorable Little Blacksmith.
Did he send a baby? It seemed less capable than Charmander.
However, the next moment, both Green and the Stunky and Skuntank realized their mistake.
Jing He said, "Don't let them release their stench."
Poison wasn't very effective against Steel-type Pokemon, but the stench was another matter.
"Chirp!"
Little Blacksmith then leaped high into the air.
Its small hammer made a light tap on the ground.
Boom!!
The ground shook with a loud rumble, and a sharp rock spike erupted from the center of the Stunky and Skuntank.
Rock Spike!
And that was it.
The Stunky and Skuntank didn't even have time to make a sound before they all fell to the ground.
Green: "..."
He and Charmander exchanged a glance, both seeing shock in each other's eyes.
How could it be so powerful?
Actually, they weren't the only ones stunned. A Skuntank, lagging behind, was also dumbfounded.
Skuntank is the evolved form of Stunky.
Originally, it had come to support the Stunky that had been bullied by Green and Charmander.
But upon seeing Little Blacksmith, no, that pink demon, it realized it had made a grave mistake.
Why leave the safety of its den to wander around?
Skuntank raised its tail over its head and forced a smile, slowly backing away.
Raising its tail was a threat, indicating it would release its stench if provoked.
The smile was an attempt to be friendly, indicating it had made a wrong turn.
Little Blacksmith's response made Skuntank both relieved and nervous.
"Chirp~~"
Little Blacksmith smiled broadly, looking adorable.
But for some reason, Skuntank felt...
It didn't dare to think about it and bolted.
Then, a hammer covered in frost appeared behind its head.
Bang!!
Skuntank's eyes rolled back, and it fell heavily to the ground.
"Chirp!"
Sleep Powder, successful!
Little Blacksmith caught the hammer, clenching its fists in joy.
"Unbelievable..."
Green muttered, witnessing the scene.
So small, yet with such incredible strength.
The weight of that hammer...
Is this how Pokemon are trained?
Green's perception of Pokemon training was shaken for the first time.
Jing He patted Green on the shoulder and walked into the forest with a smile.
"Wait, please wait!" Green suddenly reacted, calling out.
"Hmm?"
Jing He turned halfway.
"My name is Green. May I ask your name?"
"Me?"
Jing He lifted the work badge hanging from his chest and showed it.
"Jing He, I'm a... well, a teacher."
With that, he waved and gradually disappeared from Green's sight.
"Teacher Jing He?"
Green repeated silently.
It sounded familiar.
But one thing was undeniable.
Jing He had left a significant impact on Green, who had just received his first Pokemon.
After standing there for a moment, Green ran back to the institute with Charmander.
Not long after, the Skuntank and Stunky slowly regained consciousness.
"Kaa—!!"
A miserable cry echoed through the forest, so tragic that many bird Pokemon took flight in fright.
"Chirp~"
Little Smithy "obediently" distributed "Pecha Berries" to Gastly, Weavile, and Jing He.
"I have one too."
Jing He, holding a "Pecha Berry," looked a bit bewildered.
He had no idea when Little Smithy had "acquired" these berries from Skuntank and Stunky.
Jing He thought that if Skuntank and Stunky weren't so stinky, they might have lost even more.
Weavile took a small bite of the "Pecha Berry."
"Ouu?"
Do we need to go exploring?
It asked curiously.
"Chirp~ Chirp~~"
Exploring! Exploring!
Gastly seemed very excited.
Jing He looked at Little Smithy, who was marching ahead, hammer in hand, munching on a "Pecha Berry," and smiled.
"Because Little Smithy seems to have found something."
Jing He originally didn't want to enter the dangerous forest, especially the Crown Mountain Forest.
But ever since they arrived, Little Smithy had been staring intently at a particular direction.
Even though it hadn't said anything, Jing He had noticed.
"Chirp~ Chirp~"
Little Smithy carried its hammer, humming a tune, looking like a little village bully.
Suddenly,
Little Smithy's eyes lit up.
It raised its hammer, a faint arc of light flickering on it.
Then, it seemed to have discovered something and ran quickly.
Jing He and the others exchanged glances and hurried to follow.
Then they saw...
"Help... help... help..."
A man wearing a white lab coat, carrying a brown satchel, slightly overweight, with a scruffy beard and a gentle look, was running through the forest.
He was panting, calling for help, but he didn't seem particularly panicked.
Behind him, three objects that looked like smaller versions of Nosepass were following.
Is this Professor Dianthus?
Jing He was a bit surprised when he saw the man.
It wasn't immediately obvious that he was being chased by Houndour and Ursaring, so Jing He hadn't recognized him at first.
Now he understood why he hadn't seen Professor Dianthus earlier.
Professor Dianthus also noticed Jing He.
While running, he even managed to smile and wave.
"Hey, can you help me out?"
Little Smithy was already eager to jump in.
Clearly, it had its eyes on the three Nosepass-like stones chasing Professor Dianthus.
"Little Smithy." Jing He called softly.
"Chirp!"
Little Smithy grinned, brandishing its hammer and charging forward.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The small hammer in its hands swung with great force, almost like Lucario using Bone Club.
The three "Nosepass" were stopped in their tracks.
Professor Dianthus stopped running, leaning on his knees and panting, while thanking Jing He.
"Th-thank you."
"Professor Dianthus, what's going on?"
Jing He walked over.
Professor Dianthus, hearing this, scratched his head and smiled.
"I couldn't resist observing the Pokemon on Crown Mountain when I got here."
"Chirp chirp!"
Jing He and Professor Dianthus hadn't exchanged more than a few words when Little Smithy became extremely excited.
It had firmly pinned down one of the "Nosepass," and no matter how it struggled, it couldn't break free.
Little Smithy's eyes gleamed, it licked its lips, and it gripped its hammer, ready to strike.
Suddenly, arcs of electricity danced on the "Nosepass," as if drawn by a magnetic force.
The next moment,
Bang!
A large, sturdy Nosepass flew in from the distance.
Nosepass evolves into Probopass, which has Rock and Steel types.
However, this Probopass looked a bit dazed.
It had just been using its magnetic field to control the smaller "Nosepass," but the small "Nosepass" didn't move, and it ended up flying over instead?
As everyone knows,
Magnetic force is mutual.
With the small "Nosepass" held by Little Smithy, Probopass increased its magnetic force, causing it to fly over.
Seeing the Probopass, Little Smithy immediately realized the "main event" had arrived. It quickly protected the small "Nosepass" behind it, growling fiercely.
"Chirp!"
I saw it first!
Probopass: "?"
"Really a Probopass!"
Professor Dianthus exclaimed, sitting down on the ground.
He pulled out a notebook and started writing furiously, completely oblivious to the Probopass's increasingly unfriendly expression.
"I've heard that the special magnetic field on Crown Mountain can make Nosepass evolve into Probopass, but I wonder if they live in groups..."
No, Professor, you really know how to pick your moments.
A few minutes later,
Little Smithy hummed the familiar tune again, one hand holding its hammer, the other carrying a small "Nosepass," and strutted away.
Gastly held a large "beard" in its hand, rubbing it carefully. It discovered that it wasn't a beard at all but special magnetite that had gathered together due to the magnetic field, forming a beard-like shape.
"Chirp~~"
But, hey, it's pretty fun.
It put it on its face.
Closing its eyes, it stroked the "beard," feeling very much like an old man.
Weavile's tail curled around a shiny, round bead, which it found very beautiful and liked very much.
"Ouu~~"
Because it was a "little golden bead."
Watching the three little ones marching ahead, Jing He held his forehead.
Oh no.
The "Lawless Team" has officially started their "operations."
