Chapter 1361: The Nebula-Class Arrives
Chapter 1361: The Nebula-Class Arrives
In a grand hall within the headquarters of the First Star Zone Council, seven Stellar-Class beings gathered.
All but Max, who was in seclusion, and Glass, who had gone to Ranya for support, had arrived.
In the hall, they all faced a massive "crystal ball" at the center, their expressions solemn.
The "crystal ball," about three meters in diameter, was surrounded by distorted ripples of space-time.
These ripples, like waves, covered the surface of the "crystal ball," and the surrounding space continually folded, reformed, and vanished, making it clear that this object was no ordinary thing.
The seven Stellar-Class beings stood in a circle around the "crystal ball."
None of them spoke or made a move. They stood in silence.
After about ten minutes, the previously calm "crystal ball" suddenly emitted a rare fluctuation.
The ball, originally sky blue, quickly turned golden and burst forth with a dazzling golden light!
Seeing this, the Stellar-Class beings immediately became alert, their expressions focused.
A few seconds later, the "crystal ball" reformed like liquid and materialized into a golden, three-meter-tall humanoid in the center of the hall.
This humanoid was a projection formed from the "crystal ball."
Though the projection glowed with a brilliant golden light, it was clear from its appearance that it was a male Saint Silver, identifiable by the tentacles on his chin.
Notably, this Saint Silver was quite elderly, his face far more aged than any of the Stellar-Class beings present.
As the projection formed, the Stellar-Class beings almost simultaneously bowed in respect, saying, "It is an honor to see you, Lord Berna."
The great man known as Berna slowly nodded.
His gaze slowly swept over each of the Stellar-Class beings, and he said with a faint smile, "I am also pleased to see you, Fig's children."
...
Berna's full name is Gletacks Berna.
If Su Yu were here, he would immediately recognize who this is.
The reason is simple: there is only one Nebula-Class being left in the Milky Way, and that being is Berna.
...
Two years ago, the Saintong Corporation initiated interstellar teleportation services.
On the day the service began, all the Nebula-Class beings in the Milky Way went to the Saint Silver system to support the war there.
However, the Milky Way couldn't be left unattended. What if the Crystal Blue Collective took advantage of the situation?
After a brief discussion, they all agreed that Berna should stay behind.
Berna's strength among the ten Nebula-Class beings was neither the strongest nor the weakest, ranking around fourth or fifth.
The main reason he was chosen to stay was his advanced age, as he was nearing the end of his life.
Cultivators, after advancing to the Planetary-Class, theoretically have an infinite lifespan due to their transcended physical bodies.
However, in the known universe, "eternal life" does not exist.
Even Nebula-Class cultivators, over long periods, accumulate various injuries that eventually become unsustainable.
Moreover, all life forms, even silicon-based life, develop a self-destructive tendency after living for a very long time, often referred to as "living long enough."
Berna was one such being who had "lived long enough."
Originally, he planned to end his life two years ago.
However, due to the disappearance of the Sacred Song and the resulting changes in civilization, he had to delay his plans and continue leading the civilization.
Because only Berna remained, he took on the role of President of the Milky Way Council.
Upon receiving a message from Councilor Remo, he immediately arranged for his projection to be sent to the Fig Hub.
...
"I am already aware of the silicon-based life issue," Berna said, getting straight to the point. "I have already instructed the council to relay the relevant information to all hubs and to notify the Nebula-Class beings in the Milky Way to return as soon as possible."
"Good to hear that!" The Stellar-Class beings present collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
"However, I need to personally confirm the information," Berna added.
As soon as he finished speaking, his projection vanished from the center of the hall.
"Phew, Lord Berna is certainly cautious," Councilor Remo said, wiping his brow.
Ashley crossed her arms. "It's only right to be cautious. No one wants to make a huge mistake, and the Milky Way Council can't afford to lose face, nor can we."
Banker Andrew said, "But the fact that Lord Berna has already spread the message and is now verifying it shows his trust in us."
"Of course, trust is essential," General Dalandor shrugged. "After all, we trusted Lady Ashley right away. Within the Saint Silver Federation, we need to trust each other to maintain cohesion."
"Especially after the Sacred Song disappeared," Gem Dragon Lucia muttered quietly.
The mention of the "Sacred Song" immediately dampened the mood.
It always happened this way. Regardless of who was in the hub, wherever they were, the atmosphere would immediately become heavy if someone mentioned the Sacred Song.
Councilor Remo sighed and said, "Let's not talk about the Sacred Song. We'll continue waiting for Lord Berna... Uh, he's fast."
He had intended to say, "We'll continue waiting for Lord Berna to return," but before he could finish, a golden light gathered before them, re-forming Berna's projection.
Berna had returned, and it took less than a minute.
"After investigation, it is confirmed to be a silicon-based life form," Berna's voice echoed in the hall. "And your information is correct; it is a Planetary-Class seventh-rank silicon-based life form."
