Chapter 1360
Chapter 1360
As Kas’s voice rang out, the other Navy officers raised their hands in unison. As the ships navigated closer to the Red Line’s looming silhouette, the Golden Lion’s Navy erupted in a thunderous chant:
“For the sake of world peace!!”
The Red Line was near!
Several Warships, led by the Golden Lion, steered toward a small island beneath the Red Line’s shadow. This place was known as Red Port.
“We’ve arrived.”
As the Golden Lion began docking, Kuro rose from his main seat, descended the fortress, and stepped through its gates. To his surprise, he found the high-ranking Navy officers aboard staring at him in unison. Their gazes unsettled him—familiar, yet strange.
He glanced at Kas and Wilbur, startled. These Navy officers’ expressions mirrored theirs.
What’s going on?
Just to fight pirates at Mariejois? Is this much enthusiasm really necessary?
But then again… it made sense. The war was over. For them, the battle at Mariejois might feel like the final act—the ultimate victory. Once it was done, the Navy would finally end the Great Pirate Era that had plagued the Grand Line for so long.
Such a monumental achievement deserved passion.
As the ship docked, a stepped platform extended from the Golden Lion’s side. Kuro led the group down to Red Port, but paused mid-step. Below, Red Port’s docks were packed with a dense network of Navy soldiers.
These troops stood rigid and uniform—unlike the disheveled high-ranking officers behind Kuro. Their synchronized posture and expressions were textbook Navy. As Kuro descended, every soldier turned to face him in eerie unison.
Their demeanor reminded Kuro of Kas’s Branch.
But there were far more of them.
Thousands—no, tens of thousands.
“Kuro Mr.!!”
The Navy’s roar shook the air, startling Kuro.
The sheer unity of their voices…
Kuro turned, and the soldiers’ piercing gazes made Klah stiffen. He snapped his spine straight, heart pounding.
Oh no… Did Kuro Mr. find out about the cloning experiments?!
Kuro raised his hand toward Klah’s group.
Klah squeezed his eyes shut.
This is it. He’s gonna hit me.
Smack.
A sharp, soft sound echoed.
Klah opened his eyes—no pain.
Kuro had merely patted Kas’s shoulder, grinning. “Well done!”
Kas snapped his heels together, shouting, “All thanks to Kuro Mr.’s guidance!”
“No, no—I did nothing. This is all your merit. You’ve trained them excellently. The preparations are flawless.”
Kas had thoughtfully stationed troops at Red Port, blocking pirates from using it as a backdoor to attack Mariejois.
“Hmm?” Kuro rubbed his chin. “But… how could pirates even reach Mariejois with this many troops?”
“Maybe some ability,” Klah interjected.
“True.” Kuro nodded. “Then it must be that damned Donquixote Doflamingo. He knows Mariejois well, and with his ability, he could sneak in disguised as a Navy Kingdom soldier. A smart move?”
As Kuro stepped off the platform, the soldiers parted silently, clearing a path.
“Would a smart man really misread the situation? Or is that bird-brained bastard just smashing the jar and throwing it away?”
Kuro had no doubt Donquixote Doflamingo was cunning. He’d likely infiltrated Mariejois in disguise. But the Navy had held out until now—until Kuro arrived.
---
Hmph!!
“You lowly wretch! What do you think you’re doing?!”
Inside Mariejois’s World Noble residence, threads glinted like blades under the sunlight. Beneath them lay fallen figures—armored guards, dress-uniformed bodyguards, and World Nobles themselves, clad in opulent long robes, their hair spiked skyward.
The World Nobles.
Here in Mariejois, they didn’t wear their signature bubble helmets. This was their sanctuary.
But now, it hardly mattered.
Crouched above the carnage was a man in a prisoner’s jumpsuit, draped in a stolen cloak, sunglasses perched on his nose, grinning malevolently. Below him, a blood-soaked World Noble, hair coiled like a conch shell, pointed a trembling finger.
“Kshhhkshhkshh. Lowly?
Donquixote Doflamingo flexed his five fingers, his knuckles cracking. The World Noble’s arm jerked involuntarily, snatching a pistol from the ground.
“Lowly? I share the same bloodline as you!!”
Bang!
The World Noble pressed the gun to his temple and fired. Blood sprayed as he collapsed.
“No!! Save us!! Where’s the Admiral?! Where’s the Admiral?!”
The remaining World Nobles screamed, desperate to flee—but the threads controlled them. Their faces twisted in agony as they writhed helplessly.
“Admiral?”
Donquixote Doflamingo’s grin widened as he turned toward the distant, snow-draped expanse of Mariejois, flecked with greenery. “Kshhhkshhkshh-Kyah! The Admirals won’t save you! You’re useless now. Why let Kuro kill you when I can vent my rage instead? You’ve already been dragged down from your thrones. Look at you!”
He gestured to the corpses. “I’ve dreamed of this moment for so long… and now, it’s finally here.”
He tilted his head back, laughing maniacally. “Kshhhkshhkshh-Kyah!!
He remembered the day they’d hung him on that wall as a child—a day that forged his hatred for the World Nobles.
“Don’t worry. I won’t kill you all. I’ll make you share my fate. No… you’ll suffer worse. Witness the truth: when you fall, those you once ruled will crush you. And you… you’ll see what you become.”
“The world has changed! You can’t lounge in complacency here anymore! You’ve lost your status!! Kshhhkshhkshh-Kyahahahaa!!”
His laughter echoed through Mariejois.
The sound reached Kuro, ascending in the lift.
“That voice…”
Kuro bared his teeth, nearing the upper exit. “So it is him. How amusing.”
