1:15 p.m.

Temple of Priests Private Compound, Luxen City.

Vivian stepped inside the Blacksmith Shop and saw the familiar shopkeepers -- Sike and Grace. They were sitting behind the counter and chatting as she made her towards them.

“Excuse me, brother, sister.”

They turned to her.

“Sister Vivian, how may we help you?” Sike asked with a friendly smile.

Vivian took out the note that Grace gave when she came here to have her poleaxe repaired.

“I came here the other day to have my Silver-Grade poleaxe repaired. I’m wondering if it’s finally fixed,” she said and then focused on Grace. “You were the one who issued me this note,” she said and placed the note on top of the counter.

Grace nodded.

“Yes, we just received it this morning,” she said and then turned to Sike. “Brother, you deal with the paperwork and I’ll get the weapon.”

Sike waved his hand.

“Let me do it, sister. You do the paperwork,”

Grace nodded.

“Okay,” she said and then picked up the note.

Ka-cha!

Sike turned away and then entered a door behind the counter.

Grace then took out a book and a Memory Crystal underneath the counter and placed them on top of the counter before searching for the shop’s copy of Vivian’s note and the time and date of the note’s entry. Once she found them, she turned to Vivian.

“I found the record. The repair request was issued on the Day of Satur at 4:04 p.m. The weapon is a poleaxe, Mithril-Grade, no Magic Effects, the payment was 3 silver coins, already paid, and it’s under the name Sister Vivian. Do you agree?”

Vivian nodded.

“Yes.”

“In case you find any issues about the repair or repairs done on the item, you have the right to retrieve it and be reimbursed, refuse to sign the papers to complete the transaction, and file a complaint.”

Eh…?

There’s such a rule…?

But why do I feel like this should’ve been mentioned back when I first came here to have my weapon repaired…?

Vivian shook her head mentally.

Whatever…

At least now I know that there’s such a rule…

“Noted.”

Ka-chud.

Sike returned with a poleaxe and closed the door behind him.

Thud.

He placed the weapon on top of the counter.

“This was the poleaxe that came in this morning. Please check it to confirm it’s yours.”

Vivian’s gaze landed on her weapon.

This is my first time having a weapon fixed…

I seriously don’t know what to look at…

She picked it up and studied its main head.

But I guess it looks clean and fixed…?

I mean…

I don’t see any cracks and blemishes…

She took a couple of steps back.

Whooosh!

Whooosh!

Whooosh!

And performed a couple of thrusts and swings.

As Vivian was testing out the poleaxe, Sike’s brows knitted a little bit because as far as he could remember, Vivian’s Physical Force was Silver.

It wasn’t that he was deliberately keeping tabs on her progress. However, aside from the fact that there weren’t that many who would come to the Blacksmith Shop to check their Physical and Magic Force using Physical Force and Magic Force Crystals, Vivian was currently the only Brown Cloak at Luxen City who was over 20 years old, she wasn't bad-looking, and she also asked him several questions about Physical Arts, Magic Items and etc.

But in the end, he dismissed the idea inside his head, thinking that he must’ve been mistaken.

Chud.

Vivian stopped and then planted the poleaxe like a walking stick before checking the minor heads -- axe-head, spear-head and hammer-head.

Hmm…

I didn’t feel anything strange…

It even looks brand new…

Is this really my weapon…?

She tightened her grip around the weapon and then rubbed her gloved thumb against the staff.

Didn’t expect that I would miss it…

It feels comfortable…

“How is it, sister?” Sike asked.

“It’s fine. I can’t even tell that it used to be broken that I can't help but wonder if this is even the same weapon.”

Sike let out a small smile.

“That’s very good to hear.”

“I take it that there are no issues, sister?” Grace asked.

Vivian nodded.

“Yes.”

“I’ll begin signing the paperwork now,” she said and then grabbed a pen.

“By the way, I have a question,” Vivian said.

Grace stopped what she was doing and raised her head. However, she noticed that Vivian was looking at Sike so she resumed what she was doing.

“What is it?” Sike asked.

“Does the quality of the weapon drop once it got destroyed and then repaired?”

“You plan to sell it?”

“No, I mean, let’s say I got a brand new weapon and it got destroyed after using Physical Arts 20 times. If I repaired it, will it still break after using Physical Arts 20 times or will that number decrease, like 18 or 15?”

Sike shook his head.

“As long as the weapon was properly repaired, the quality of the weapon won’t drop.”

“I see,” Vivian said and nodded. “I have another question.”

Sike didn’t say anything.

“Do you sell weapons with elemental effects, like Darkness, Earth and etc.?”

“You mean Elemental Weapons?”

“I guess that’s what it’s called? I’m looking for weapons that come with elemental effects.”

Sike nodded.

“Yes, it’s called Elemental Weapons. However, only Mithril-Grade and above can be imbued with an Elemental Effect.”

“How much is it?”

“First off, there are two kinds of Elemental Weapons -- Active and Passive.

“The Active ones, you can activate and deactivate its Elemental Effect. Although it’s great for surprise attacks or catching your opponent off-guard, the downside is that you risk breaking it every time you activate and deactivate it. Also, it costs mana to activate it and maintain it.

“Meanwhile, for the Passive ones, of course, you can’t activate and deactivate its Elemental Effect but the Elemental Effect is always on. However, as you can already guess the downsides, since you can’t activate and deactivate it, you have to be very careful in handling it or you could accidentally hurt yourself -- it’s not like the Enchant-type Spells where the caster doesn’t have to worry about accidentally hurting themselves. On top of that, you will also be attracting a lot of attention.

“Secondly, an Elemental Weapon can only have one Elemental Effect and the Magic Force of its Elemental Effect is based on the Metal-Grade of the weapon.

“So for the prices, a Mithril-Grade Elemental Weapon is 50 gold coins, Orichalcum-Grade is 500 gold coins, Adamantite-Grade is 5,000 gold coins and Rainbow Steel-Grade can only be found in Auction Houses with a base price of 50,000 gold coins.”

Vivian’s jaw dropped.

So it’s the same as the prices of Magic Items…?

“One last question, brother.”

“Of course.”

“Is it possible to increase a person’s Magic Art Mastery using Elemental Weapons?”

I want to ask if it’s also possible to open one…

But I’m afraid to ask if it’s legal…

I mean…

The Awakening Ceremony is a business practice in this world…

Sike let out a sigh.

“Sister, let me tell you in advance that it’s not worth it.”

Vivian’s brown knitted.

“What do you mean?”

“First of all, let’s say you have the [Light Mastery] and you use a Light Elemental Sword during a fight. That won’t have any effect in training your [Light Mastery], it will only train your [Sword Mastery]. But for your opponent, assuming they have the [Light Mastery], they will benefit from it. However, it should be done in a very specific way.

“So what is this 'very specific way'?"

“If you’re going to use an Active Light Elemental Sword, you must activate it, land a hit on your opponent, deactivate it, activate it once again, land a hit on your opponent once again, deactivate it once again -- you will continue doing this cycle until you run out of mana or your weapon breaks. By doing this, it trains the owner's [Sword Mastery] and the opponent’s [Light Mastery] -- if they have one.

“Meanwhile, if you’re going to use a Passive Light Elemental Sword, you must use it with a Physical Art, like [Sword Slash], and it must land on the opponent. You keep doing it until you run out of mana or your weapon breaks. For this method, it also trains the owner’s [Sword Mastery] and the opponent’s [Light Mastery] -- if they have one.”

“What if I use the Elemental Weapon on myself?” Vivian asked.

“You can, but is it worth it? Remember, the cheapest Elemental Weapon is Mithril-Grade and it costs 50 gold coins. And if it breaks, it costs 5 gold coins to repair.

“So if it’s just for training purposes, it would be smarter to just buy an Iron-Grade sword worth 5 silvers and spar with someone else without using any Physical Arts to train your [Sword Mastery]. Meanwhile, for the 49 gold and 5 silver coins, you use that for buying Mana Potions to train your [Light Mastery].”

Vivian nodded.

“I understand. But if I were to use the Elemental Weapon on myself using the methods you mentioned earlier, it will train my Magic Art Mastery?”

Sike nodded.

“Yes, if you have the corresponding Element or Magic Art Affinity.”

“I see. Thank you, brother.”

Grace was finally done preparing the paperwork.

“Sister, please sign these papers,” she said and then offered a pen.
