Chapter 1359: No Leaving
Chapter 1359: No Leaving
After Chairman Lemo vanished, the scene fell into an intense silence.
But it didn't last long. Soon, a massive uproar erupted among the crowd!
Everyone was in shock, shouting loudly:
"What? The rebel organizations are coming to attack?"
"Is it our turn now?"
"The rebels are waging a two-front war! Aren't they already fighting in Lunya?"
"Which rebel organizations are coming to attack us? 'Flame Keepers' are definitely one of them; their influence in our hub is significant. 'Fate Defiers' probably won't be here; those lunatics declared they wouldn't interfere in the war between Crystal Blue and Holy Silver. The others should be 'Glorious Rebels' and 'Dark Energy Rebels'... right?"
"How long before the war starts?"
"We need to get back and prepare!"
...
Panic set in, and chaos reigned over the sky of Sector 1.
Some people were frantic and at a loss, while others hurried home to prepare for the impending war.
To some extent, everyone had been mentally prepared for the rebel attack. After all, Fige was close to Lunya, and the hub's strength was relatively weak.
Recent events also hinted at the rebels' plans to attack the hub.
For instance, Su Yu's home planet was attacked by the Dark Energy Rebels; a powerful rebel interfered with Su Yu's auction; and this time, Lelin didn't even bother to hide, appearing in the sky over Sector 1 in his true form!
These were all signs that the rebels were about to attack the hub. Otherwise, they wouldn't be so bold.
But Lunya had only just started fighting, and the war there hadn't even lasted two years. How could the conflict reach them so soon?
People were momentarily unable to adapt, and the crowd fell into chaos.
...
Morning Star, the cat, remained relatively calm.
Perched on Su Yu's shoulder, she narrowed her eyes and said, "Kexing, a war is coming!"
"Yes, a war is coming," Su Yu replied solemnly. "I didn't expect it to come so quickly and so suddenly."
Morning Star glanced at the panicked crowd. "Everyone is really scared."
"Those who haven't experienced war react like this," Su Yu shrugged. "Unlike us who have been through wars, the residents of Fige have never fought. In the past 50 million years, there hasn't been a war here. It's natural for everyone to be panicking now."
Morning Star wagged her tail. "True. The Hymn has protected them too well. Like flowers in a greenhouse suddenly exposed to a storm, it's normal for them to wilt."
She looked at Su Yu's profile. "What do we do now? Should we... wait, Kexing, should we put our original plan on hold? We can't leave the hub at a time like this, right?"
Morning Star suddenly remembered their previous plan.
They had intended to buy everything they needed for their journey and then complete the main quest given by the Hymn, collecting the scattered core data from other star systems.
There were five pieces of core data in total: two in the Milky Way and three in the Holy Silver star system.
Once all the core data was gathered, the Hymn's power would be significantly restored, though the exact extent was unknown.
But now, with the rebel attack imminent...
"Based on what we know about the situation in the Lunya hub," Morning Star said worriedly, "when the Lunya hub was attacked, they immediately shut down all external teleportation channels. Since then, the hub has been a one-way exit, and no cultivators of the Eighth Rank or higher have been allowed to leave. I suspect Fige will do the same."
Morning Star's concerns were well-founded.
As she spoke, someone in the crowd shouted, "My God! The Saintong Company has shut down external teleportation services!"
"What? Teleportation is closed?"
"Ah, it's already closed?"
"So fast?!"
"I was just thinking of taking my family away from the hub for safety!"
"How could these %&$ people act so quickly?!"
"It's true, it's closed."
"It's over; no one can leave now."
People checked their wristbands and entered the Saintong Company's page, confirming that cross-hub teleportation services were unavailable. The scene erupted in cries of despair, and the sky grew even more chaotic.
Su Yu, like everyone else, opened his wristband to search for teleportation services. Seeing the large red "Service Suspended" message, he shrugged helplessly. "Looks like we can't go on the main quest."
"Ah, we'll have to stay in the hub," Morning Star's whiskers twitched. "The hub is doing this to prevent a mass exodus. If all the high-ranking cultivators fled, there would be no one left to defend against the rebels."
She looked at Su Yu. "Kexing, let's head back and meet up with Ailijie and Tina."
But at that moment, Su Yu seemed to have an idea and shook his head uncertainly. "But... maybe not."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Morning Star was taken aback.
Su Yu rubbed his chin and said seriously, "I'm saying we're not certain we can't leave the hub. There might be a way."
"A way? What way?" Morning Star's eyes widened.
"Shh, let's discuss this back at the base," Su Yu put a finger to his lips to signal silence. "You mentioned Lancelot O'mir earlier; he might be our key."
"Lancelot O'mir..." The name was unfamiliar to Morning Star at first, but she quickly recalled who he was.
Given his identity, she immediately guessed what Su Yu had in mind!
Her eyes lit up. "O'mir! Kexing, you're thinking of..."
"Keep your voice down," Su Yu grabbed Morning Star and put her in the pet space, then vanished from the spot.
"Let's go back and talk about it."
Su Yu left the sky of Sector 1 and returned to the headquarters in Sector 170.
