Chapter 1349: War's End? War Start!
Chapter 1349: War's End? War Start!
Got them! Finally got them!
The Four Emperors—Marshall D. Teach, Luffy. Big and small threats who kept stirring chaos across the Grand Line, making it impossible for him to live in peace—finally, he’d eliminated them all!
But the war wasn’t over yet.
“Luffy!!! Usopp!!!”
Zoro and Sanji, finally realizing this wasn’t a dream, charged toward the execution platform like wild beasts.
It’s real! That wasn’t an illusion!
Usopp’s death jolted them back to reality.
Their captain was gone. Their crewmate was gone!
“Ghostly Aura·Nine Sword Style.”
Zoro’s eyes burned red as his aura surged. Three-headed Six Arms materialized, and he swung toward the now-despised execution platform.
Maybe, just like in Loguetown, if that cursed platform collapsed, Luffy would rise again. Usopp too—he always loved playing dead. They’d all come back. They’d—
Bang!
Zoro grunted as a massive impact struck his waist, staggering him. Before he could react, a crushing force slammed into his skull, sending his body crashing into the ground.
Moer pinned his head down, smirking. “When fighting an uncle like me, you can’t afford to lose focus, boy.”
Sanji faced the same fate. He broke free from his duel with Klah, stomping the air to race toward the platform.
“Canine Storm!”
Bang!
Klah lunged like a cannonball, claws slamming into Sanji’s back. Though he couldn’t pierce the cook’s defenses, the sheer force made Sanji spit blood as he plummeted, Klah’s claws driving him into the ground, kicking up a dust mist.
“Dare to lose focus while facing the great Klah Officer?” Klah growled.
“Get off me, get off!!” Sanji roared.
Normally, even enraged, he could counter Klah. But now, his mind was a mess—no matter how he struggled, he couldn’t break free.
“Luffy Officer!”
On the battlefield, Boa Hancock’s tremendous kick shattered a pirate into rubble. Then, as if drained of strength, she staggered toward the platform. Her pace quickened, her flowing hair whipping like a waterfall until she sprinted, racing toward the platform at blinding speed.
Luffy was dead! She didn’t care about anything else!
The Seven Warlords of the Sea, Kusnake Island—none of it mattered—
“Hey, Boa Hancock.”
A golden hook-arm blocked her path, swirling with sandstorm.
Crocodile, cigar in mouth, cold-eyed. “What are you doing?”
“Get out of my way, Crocodile!!” Boa Hancock shouted. “Don’t stop me!”
“Hmph.”
Crocodile lowered his arm. “I won’t stop you. But in this situation, I’ll remind you—Luffy’s dead. He won’t return. And you can’t defeat Kuro.”
“This one…”
Boa Hancock stared at the platform, despair in her eyes, before her body slumped, her spirit vanishing.
If no one blocked her, she might have charged recklessly. But once stopped, her fire died.
As a Seven Warlord, as Kusnake Island’s “Snake Princess,” surviving the Grand Line required rationality.
And that cursed rationality let her calm down instantly upon learning Luffy’s death.
She had to protect Kusnake Island’s people.
And now, the battle was beyond salvation…
On the platform, Kuro ignored the rushing duo. As flames scattered, he vanished, heading straight for one target.
“Yi Xiao!”
The shout rang out.
Yi Xiao, locked in combat with Ben Beckman, twitched his ear. Dodging Beckman’s rifle butt strike, he sheathed his Staff Sword with a clack.
In that instant, crushing gravity slammed onto Beckman.
Ben Beckman—possessing combat power rivaling the Four Emperors—had fought Yi Xiao to mutual wounds. Though Yi Xiao’s Observation Haki was formidable, Beckman’s gunplay, combined with his lack of eyesight, left Yi Xiao grazed by bullets. But Beckman bore Yi Xiao’s wounds too, his body weighed down by gravity.
Yet that was just gravity. He could still endure.
Even as Yi Xiao intensified the gravity, it posed no problem.
But the moment Kuro moved, Beckman felt not only downward pressure but an upward floating force. The clash pinned him, frozen in place.
Hiss!
A blade pierced flesh.
Beckman couldn’t even lower his head, but from his peripheral vision, he glimpsed the jet-black blade tip protruding from his chest.
His heart was pierced.
“You’re troublesome, Beckman,” Kuro said behind him. “I’ll eliminate you high-combat-power types first to avoid future trouble.”
“You bastard…”
Blood spilled from Beckman’s lips. As he tried to speak, searing pain erupted.
From his heart up to his shoulder, Kuro’s blade sliced upward, then angled sideways, cleaving through Beckman’s neck.
Hiss!
Beckman’s head flew skyward, spinning before landing with a thud.
Swish!
Kuro flicked Autumn Water, scattering blood onto the ground. His bloodshot eyes swept the battlefield coldly.
The top-tier fighters were nearly all gone.
Shanks, Marshall D. Teach, Beckman, Luffy—all eliminated.
The remaining…
Kuro fixed his gaze on Luffy’s crew, then the pirates clashing with the Navy.
“Yi Xiao, head to the battlefield,” he ordered. “I’ll handle the rest!”
“Has the war already decided its victor?” Yi Xiao sighed, turning toward the battlefield.
An Admiral’s arrival would turn the tide.
As for Luffy’s crew, Kuro would deal with them personally—ending this Navy-pirate war swiftly!
“Every war must end,” Kuro murmured.
…
“Now the war truly begins!”
Above the Grand Line, David roared as Kuro severed Luffy’s head. Raising his arm, he bellowed: “Alert the fleet! We march to Red Port! Proceed to Mariejois!!”
Watching the screen, Donquixote Doflamingo suddenly laughed:
“Kshhhkshhkshh! You won’t pass easily, but with me? I know many secrets of the upper world. Take me along—I’ll guide you, in exchange for joining this feast!”
