Chapter 1345: Revenge from the Malfoys
Chapter 1345: Revenge from the Malfoys
In the parlor of Parkinson Manor, Berkshire, England, Draco Malfoy set down the Prophet and discussed dropping out of school with Professor Parkinson sitting across him.
"You won't reconsider?"
Professor Parkinson looked at the pale-faced Draco and said softly, "Severus has always hoped that you would return to Hogwarts to continue your studies."
Draco looked up at Professor Parkinson, a slight twitch at the corner of his mouth as he said with self-mockery, "Ensuring the continuation of the Malfoy family is what I should be doing now."
Yes, Draco Malfoy was now married.
It had been half a month ago.
The bride was his ex-girlfriend, Pansy Parkinson.
Their wedding had been a quiet affair, with only a few acquaintances in attendance.
Such a wedding would have been unacceptable to the Parkinson family, but Severus Snape, on behalf of the Malfoys, had persuaded Mr. Parkinson.
After Lucius Malfoy's mysterious death, Severus Snape, as a close friend, personally approached Mr. Parkinson to discuss the marriage between Draco and Pansy.
Originally, Snape was not qualified to represent the Malfoys in this matter. However, with Lucius Malfoy gone, Narcissa Malfoy missing, and Bellatrix Lestrange having disappeared, the only other option, Andromeda Tonks, had been disowned by the Black family, leaving Draco Malfoy alone. Thus, it fell to Severus Snape, entrusted by Lucius, to handle the situation.
It was only because Snape was the right-hand man of the Dark Lord and the current headmaster of Hogwarts, a formidable figure that everyone had to respect, that the young couple was able to marry smoothly.
The union between the Malfoy and Parkinson families was considered a suitable match, and they faced little opposition.
Pansy Parkinson had been Draco's girlfriend, and although she felt that their marriage was a bit premature, she accepted Draco's proposal without hesitation and even dropped out of Hogwarts.
For the pair, who had inherited a large fortune, a Hogwarts certificate was not essential.
Mr. Parkinson was quite satisfied with the match, except for one concern: the Malfoy family now only had Draco as its sole member, and he feared that Draco might lose his life due to his Death Eater identity, leaving his daughter a widow.
Lucius' worry about the Malfoy bloodline was not without reason.
It seemed that the Dark Lord did not favor the Malfoys, and this was why Lucius wanted Draco to be under the protection of the Parkinson family.
Perhaps this was the outcome Lucius had hoped for.
Noticing Mr. Parkinson's gaze, Professor Parkinson sighed and no longer pressed the issue with Draco.
He understood Draco's worries. The Dark Lord indeed did not like him, so it wasn't wrong for Draco to make this choice. At least by having his own offspring soon, he wouldn't have to worry about the Malfoy bloodline ending.
"I heard that the Ministry of Magic plans to use that big guy to strike at the Order of the Phoenix?"
Mr. Parkinson picked up the newspaper on the table, changing the subject.
As a pure-blood family supporting the Dark Lord, the Parkinsons were living more comfortably than ever and naturally hoped to see the pesky Order of the Phoenix eradicated.
"They're more hoping to use this opportunity to get rid of Harry Potter." Professor Parkinson lowered his voice as if worried that someone might overhear.
"Get rid of Harry Potter?" Mr. Parkinson was surprised. "But the Dark Lord..."
"The Dark Lord has suddenly allowed others to kill Harry Potter. That big guy is Potter's close friend, and Yaxley believes that Potter will take action for him." Professor Parkinson suddenly turned to Draco and said, "And we have to thank you for that, Draco. Yaxley is very pleased with the intelligence you provided."
"While I also hope the plan succeeds, I'm afraid it might not go as smoothly as imagined."
Indeed, Draco had intentionally provided intelligence to Professor Parkinson, largely out of a desire for revenge against Anderson and Potter.
The Malfoy family's current situation was largely due to those two.
Of course, Draco also disliked Yaxley, finding him extremely hypocritical and remembering how he had taken advantage of Draco's misfortunes on more than one occasion.
"That Muggle-born is also very close to Hagrid. I doubt Potter will stand by and let the Ministry execute Hagrid." Draco didn't really care if Yaxley's wishes came true; he was merely revealing this information to everyone.
"That Muggle-born is indeed a problem, but everyone seems to hold him in high regard."
Professor Parkinson didn't know much about Albert, but he had heard some rumors within the Death Eaters. There was even a rumor that the Death Eaters who had lost their lives in the past were killed by that Muggle-born with the help of the Minister of Magic, causing many Death Eaters to fear him.
"Many believe that the Mudblood is Dumbledore's most favored student, and some even think that he will soon surpass Dumbledore."
Malfoy did not hold back in badmouthing Albert, and he relished the thought of someone else suffering as a result of his words.
"Tell me more about him." Professor Parkinson was very interested in Albert.
"In my first year at Hogwarts, that Mudblood was already a well-known figure in the school. Everyone recognized his genius, and he seemed capable of accomplishing anything. Later, he displayed extraordinary power during the Triwizard Tournament, and many believed he was Dumbledore's favorite. What left the deepest impression on me was when he single-handedly took down all the Aurors from the Ministry of Magic."
"He's a troublesome opponent," Professor Parkinson muttered.
"No, he's even more troublesome than you think," Malfoy said, his face turning paler as he spoke. "He is a Seer himself, and it is because of his talent in prophecy that he has helped the Ministry predict our actions on multiple occasions."
As he spoke about this matter, Malfoy's face grew paler. If that guy was skilled in prophecy, would he know that it was Malfoy who had deliberately leaked the secrets?
Professor Parkinson did not notice the change in Malfoy's expression and instead recalled another rumor he had heard.
"The reason the Dark Lord is permitting the Death Eaters to kill Harry Potter directly is that he has an extremely formidable rival whom he greatly fears. That rival is none other than that Mudblood, and that is why the Dark Lord is so eager to get rid of Harry Potter. He wants to focus all his attention on dealing with that Mudblood, which is why this action is being taken."
After making a mental note of this information, Professor Parkinson revealed the reason for his visit to Draco that evening.
"How much do you know about Dumbledore's Army? Mr. Yaxley hopes to completely dismantle the resistance of Dumbledore's Army because there are rumors that the members of Dumbledore's Army are all potential candidates for the Order of the Phoenix."
"Dumbledore's Army originated from the Defense Association founded by Albert Anderson," Malfoy furrowed his brows deeply, trying to recall all that he knew about the Defense Association. "Harry Potter relied on the DA to reorganize Dumbledore's resistance against Umbridge."
"So, you think there's a good chance that Dumbledore's Army are backup members of the Defense Association." Professor Parkinson's frown deepened. If this were true, they must completely dismantle Dumbledore's Army by any means necessary.
Although Rumbleton had disappeared, Professor Parkinson believed that the organization still existed, as there was no way to enter the Room of Requirement, indicating that someone was occupying it.
However, when it came to the Room of Requirement, Draco was of little help.
The two men talked for a full hour before Professor Parkinson finally left with Draco's suggestions in hand. After all, he was not familiar with Hogwarts, and if Draco returned to school, he would be happy to have Draco assist him in dealing with the problem of Dumbledore's Army.
When Draco returned to his bedroom with the newspaper, Pansy had already taken a shower and was sitting at the bedside table, brushing her hair.
"I thought you'd be happier," Pansy said, putting down her comb and sitting next to Draco. She took the newspaper from Draco's hands and threw it on the floor before placing her hands on Malfoy's shoulders and pushing him down onto the bed. "Maybe it's time we did what we should do."
"I don't think things will go that smoothly," Draco said suddenly.
Lucius had suffered countless losses at Albert's hands, and Draco was well aware of just how terrifying that guy could be.
He suddenly felt a twinge of regret for provoking such a formidable opponent.
"Now, now, dear, let's not talk about other things when we're being intimate," Pansy said, fixing her husband with an unhappy stare.
"Sorry, Pansy, I'm just a little... afraid," Malfoy said self-deprecatingly.
"That doesn't sound like something you would say, dear," Pansy said, composing herself and trying to soothe Draco's emotions.
"I really hate him," Draco said. "I suspect that more than half of the Malfoy family's misfortunes are related to him. I even suspect that my mother was killed by that guy using some kind of method." Draco had given up all hope that his mother, Narcissa, was still alive.
"Not long ago, I provided Professor Parkinson with information about Hagrid, which led to that big guy being executed."
"To be honest, I'm a little scared," Draco continued. "I'm afraid that the big guy will die, and I'm afraid that the Mudblood will take revenge on me because of it, and even hurt you."
Pansy's mouth hung open as she stared at her husband in surprise, not quite understanding what he was saying.
"Don't worry, Draco," Pansy said reassuringly. "The Dark Lord possesses unimaginable power, and he will completely annihilate that Mudblood. I don't think anyone would tolerate the existence of someone like him."
Draco was right, however. His disclosure of this information to Yaxley had already been discovered by Albert, who was a true master of prophecy. Finding his target through divination was not a difficult task for Albert.
