Chapter 1341: Absolutely Not Letting You Pass!
Chapter 1341: Absolutely Not Letting You Pass!
A sudden surge of Conqueror's Haki violently engulfed Luffy's own, crushing it with overwhelming pressure. The aura radiating from this Conqueror's Haki was fiercer than anyone's on the Grand Line.
From the swirling white mist, Kas raised his weapon, blocking the path of pirates who had rallied their morale to break through the Navy's battle line.
Crocodile stared in horror at the battlefield's center, sweat trickling down his forehead.
Boa Hancock's pupils trembled violently, her face frozen in disbelief.
The other Seven Warlords of the Sea wore similar expressions. Buggy's jaw practically dislocated in shock, his face twisted in trauma.
It wasn't just the Seven Warlords—the Navy itself was caught off guard.
Smoker forgot to counter a pirate's attack entirely, letting the blade slice through him and turn his body into smoke.
Tina's eyes narrowed. She swung her arm, activating her ability to pierce a pirate's chest. Her limb transformed into black tendrils, binding the enemy in place.
"Conqueror's Haki?!"
Lida kicked away several pirates, tilting his head. "Oh, it's Kas."
"Now that's unexpected."
Moer, also on the battlefield, teleported behind a pirate and punched him down. Scratching his head, he exhaled sharply. "As expected from that bearded man."
Marco swallowed hard. "C'mon, don't joke around like this."
Meanwhile, Ben Beckman—locked in battle with Yi Xiao—dropped his cigarette from shock at the sudden Conqueror's Haki.
"Conqueror's Haki?" He furrowed his brow, sweat beading his temple. "This isn't good."
Yi Xiao's lips curled into a smile. "Impressive indeed. But judging by the tone, it doesn't seem to come from the pirates. That's reassuring."
Usopp staggered from the Conqueror's Haki, his body swaying. His mouth hung open. "The Navy?! Conqueror's Haki?!"
Robin broke into a sweat, her eyes wide with shock.
"Hey", Sanji muttered, lips trembling. "Don't underestimate the Navy."
"Don't be ridiculous", Kuro said smugly, his calm demeanor suggesting complete understanding. He smiled. "Sengoku was Navy too, and he had Conqueror's Haki. Just because pirates have it doesn't mean the Navy can't."
"You're full of it", Zoro said, eyeing Kuro. "Your eyes are practically popping out."
Though his words were calm, Kuro's expression betrayed him—his eyes bulged comically, creating an absurd contrast with his forced smile.
"Where? You're seeing things", Kuro denied. "This is just how my eyes are."
In truth, he was panicking. Completely overwhelmed.
Conqueror's Haki from Kas?! The voice was unmistakable, the aura's direction shrouded in white mist where Kas had transformed into a giant. If not for his full-power combat state dulling his senses and his already foul mood, he might've lost composure entirely.
Since when did Kas have Conqueror's Haki?!
How could he not know?! After all this time as his subordinate, Kuro had never sensed this ability.
The bearded man was passionate, sure—but that was different from Conqueror's Haki.
Could he actually be talented?
"Amazing", Luffy grinned. "That bearded man doesn't seem evil. My men, let's defeat Incense Burner first!"
"Right", Zoro smirked. "Let's deal with this monster in front of us. Otherwise, we'll never rescue Shanks."
The group refocused on Kuro.
The Navy having Conqueror's Haki? That was irrelevant now. After all, it was just Conqueror's Haki.
"Just Conqueror's Haki."
Dorry laughed heartily. "Looks like the Navy's got a rare good man among them!" He roared at the giants in the mist. "Impressive, but don't let it shake you! Keep charging forward!"
"It has nothing to do with Conqueror's Haki!" Kas bellowed from the mist. "I just won't let you wicked ones pass! If you do, the live broadcast will air, making people think the Navy can't protect them. The people will panic, cry, and live in fear!"
The white mist thickened with his words.
The 300 Navy members, now giant-sized, used the thickened mist to trap the pirates. The pirates' attacks faltered as the Navy pushed back.
Retreating?
No. Not at all.
Due to Kuro and Marshall D. Teach's battle, the plaza was a wreck—uneven terrain with high and low ground. By sheer coincidence, both sides of Kas's position rose sharply toward the Grand Line, leaving only a central passage for advancement. That passage was now choked with white mist.
Three hundred Navy members concentrated there, including Wilbur among their ranks. At the forefront stood Kas, the mist forming a wispy, colossal white shield that completely blocked the entrance.
"The Navy's duty is to prevent panic among the people! No matter how strong you are, no matter how mighty, I stand here today to prove the Navy still fights! The people will see our battle, understand our will!"
"We are the benchmark, the frontline against wickedness. If even we retreat, the world will have no place left to run!"
"We will show the Grand Line that as long as the Navy exists, Justice will block wickedness, giving the people peace and courage! They will know Justice never dies—even if I fall here today, as long as I don't retreat, someone will inherit this will and continue fighting you, protecting the Grand Line! Protecting the world!"
Boom!
Kas raised his hand, slamming his chest. The thunderous impact made his roar even more powerful.
"In the name of Justice!"
"In the name of Justice!!!"
The giant-sized Dougleg Squadron followed suit, pounding their fists against their chests.
"We'll absolutely not let you pass!!!" Kas roared.
"Now this is..."
Smoke swirled before the mist. Smoker emerged, his Jutte pointing at the pirates. A wicked grin spread across his face. "Getting my blood boiling!"
"Tina feels inspired", Tina said, regaining her composure as she stepped forward.
Zhuge Liang placed his feather fan before his chest, his calm smile turning solemn. Kas reminded him of his younger days—when he first became a corporal, before strategizing about "justice through tactics", when justice was still pure and simple.
Yes.
Dealing with pirates was enough. Who cared about complicated forms of justice?
Zhuge Liang tightened his grip, his Haki-encased feather fan transforming into a jet-black longsword. He rushed to the White Giant Shield, abandoning his scholarly posture to assume a combat stance.
"Just fight!" Zhuge Liang shouted.
Inside the passage, Kuro pressed his lips together.
"Hmph", he exhaled. "Appreciate the effort."
Suddenly, he bellowed, "Lida!!"
His voice carried through the plaza.
"Except for Kas's unit and Yi Xiao, everyone else—absorb half my physical strength! Klah, Moer! Fall back with your men! Leave the battlefield to Kas's group! And you Seven Warlords of the Sea—"
Kuro's eyes turned gruesome, his teeth bared. "I know some of you are coasting! If you don't fight other pirates or break through, I'll spare Luffy and cut you down first!"
More people?
Allies?
As if he didn't have his own.
Why else would he dare use Full Power against Marshall D. Teach, even with Luffy here? Because he had many trump cards.
One of them was Lida's ability!
