Chapter 1340: Marshall D. Teach is Dead – You're Next
Chapter 1340: Marshall D. Teach is Dead – You're Next
The collision stunned Kuro momentarily, but he immediately countered with an uppercut to Luffy's jaw.
Boom!
The impact sounded like striking solid iron, the fist and Luffy's chin producing a dull, heavy crack.
So hard...
Luffy's grin never wavered. His fist hadn't stretched at all, yet it rocketed forward like a cannonball, slamming into Kuro's chest with a burst of Haki.
Crash!
The sheer force left a deep dent in Kuro's mimicked armor.
Gritting his teeth, Kuro swung his other fist with tremendous force, smashing into Luffy's face. The blow echoed loudly, yet not only failed to leave a dent – it didn't even leave a mark.
Meanwhile, the fist embedded in Kuro's chest began exerting pressure.
"This guy..."
Kuro bent his legs and kicked powerfully toward Luffy, sending him flying backward. At the same time, the fist lodged in his chest finally unleashed its power, sending a shockwave from his elbow that slammed Kuro's body into the ground.
Boom!!
Dust and smoke exploded from the impact zone. Luffy flipped mid-air and landed crouched.
"Luffy, are you okay?!" Nami gasped.
"Yeah."
Luffy adjusted his straw hat, his voice calm. "Condition's never been better."
He grinned widely, roaring toward the horizon: "Red-Haired Shanks, I'm coming for you!!"
Whoosh!
A hand shot through the smoke, dispersing it. Kuro stood, glancing at his rapidly healing armor dent. His eyes narrowed. "What kind of abomination are you? That hardness..."
The sensation from the impact wasn't rubbery at all. It wasn't even the hardened Haki feel. Pure, unyielding steel-like rigidity – nothing human.
"Heh, beats me", Luffy chuckled. "I just know I'm feeling great."
The wound on his chest had already sealed like liquid. This wasn't the rubbery Devil Fruit everyone expected. Liquid-like properties combined with that terrifying hardness...
"Colloid gel? Don't joke around! You think you're some kind of alloy?!" Kuro spat.
"What's that?" Luffy blinked, then shrugged. "Whatever. Doesn't matter. Point is, I'm super strong now! I'll defeat you, Incense Burner!"
"Defeat Old Man?!"
Kuro snorted, pointing sideways. "See that over there?"
His finger aimed at Marshall D. Teach's direction. Blood oozed steadily from the deep indentation in his skull. The heavily muscled body had stopped moving entirely. Looking closely, one could see Marshall's head had completely caved in.
"People die when killed. As long as you're alive, I'll make you understand – nothing is immortal!"
Killing Intent solidified into visible waves, rippling outward.
"Next up is you, Luffy!!" Kuro roared.
"Marshall D. Teach..."
Marco, locked in battle, seemed disbelieving at first. But the sight was undeniable – the man's head had exploded.
Dead.
After Dad's death, the man who had shaken the Grand Line and fought their "Final War" – Marshall D. Teach had fallen here.
Undoubtedly dead.
After exchanging full-power attacks, both Kuro and Marshall had nearly exhausted their physical strength. But Kuro had that slight edge – enough to maintain his blade-body fusion.
His regeneration speed was marginally faster too.
While punching, he'd been restoring strength. A single Wu Sheng Kong Sha required minimal energy expenditure.
That "unbreakable" opponent? His Wu Sheng Kong Sha had worked! Combined with his signature lightning, fire, and wind elements, he'd finally blown that durable head to pieces.
One down – another can fall!
Crack!
Kuro clenched his fist, knuckles booming like gunshots. He inhaled deeply, adjusting his aura.
This kid was actually tougher than Marshall. Not just his strange condition, but his Life Release ability complicated things.
With his strength nearly depleted, maintaining this fused dragon form alone was a strain. Pure physical attacks wouldn't work anymore.
Boom!
A thin lightning bolt struck. Kuro dodged instinctively, glancing forward.
Nami emerged, Climat-Tact crackling with storm clouds. Smirking: "Looks like you're the last one left."
Usopp flicked his long nose, grinning. "We're pirates, after all."
Robin crossed her arms, smiling. "So there's no harm in ganging up, right?"
Franky tightened his mechanical fist. "You're almost out of strength!"
"Yohohohoho!" Brook laughed skeletonically.
"Great strategy!" Jinbei's smile widened.
"Yay!" Chopper raised his hooves.
Sanji exhaled a smoke ring. "Just beat him down – I won't hold back on any man!"
Zoro's malicious grin widened. "Even if you're the World's Greatest Swordsman, Captain's orders come first!"
Luffy's Crew stood united behind him.
"Hehehe..."
Luffy beamed brightly. "I've got comrades! Comrades are power too!!"
Nearby, Marco allowed a faint smile. Ben Beckman's lips curled slightly.
The pirates, seeing Luffy rise again, surged with renewed vigor.
"Bang bang bang! Luffy's up – charge!!" Dorry and Brook laughed, weapons raised.
The battlefield now seemed poised for pirate victory.
Even Red-Haired Shanks on the execution platform had his eyes gleaming.
He glanced at Marshall D. Teach's lifeless body, then at Luffy. His smile radiated like the sun, piercing the crimson sky.
"The tide of the era..."
Shanks murmured. "Has arrived!"
"Incense Burner."
Luffy repeated, voice steady. "I'll defeat you. No matter the cost, I'll beat you!"
Ten confident smiles faced Kuro. This unity...
Truly irritating.
"Heh."
Luffy widened his stance, stomping the ground with earth-shaking force. His eyes narrowed as Conqueror's Haki erupted outward in waves.
The sudden Haki shockwave froze Navy soldiers mid-battle, their focus shattered.
But under the pirates' relentless assault, this hesitation became deadly.
"Go!!" Luffy bellowed.
Pirates unleashed their attacks on the stunned Navy.
One successful push, and they'd break through!
Boom!!!
A white aura laced with crimson air currents swept outward, halting pirates in their tracks. Some injured fighters collapsed, eyes rolling back.
"Men!! Justice shall never fall!!!"
A thunderous roar shook the battlefield.
