Chapter 1339: It's the Old Man!!!
Chapter 1339: It's the Old Man!!!
Kuro's current condition was far from good. His internal organs had completely shifted, blood vessels ruptured—his body, though sustained by his formidable physical constitution, was barely holding together as it desperately repaired itself. The blood pouring from his wounds painted a disheveled, almost grotesque image, one rarely seen in his career.
That move's annihilating power was no joke.
Such wide-range devastation left no room for evasion. Not that he needed to dodge—it would be humiliating enough for Kuro, in this battered state, to avoid Marshall D. Teach's techniques like some coward.
"Kuro, you bastard—"
"Hm?!"
Boa Hancock had been about to curse, but seeing the bloodshot fury in his eyes, she swallowed her words. She might be arrogant, but she wasn't foolish. Even with her disdain for all men worldwide, facing such combat power, retreat was the wiser choice.
Provoking him now would be asking for trouble.
Boom!
As expected, the moment Boa Hancock bit her tongue, Kuro erupted with a shockwave that blasted straight toward Marshall D. Teach.
The Blackbeard Pirate's condition wasn't great either. He staggered upright, his body hunched from exhaustion, gasping for breath.
But before he could catch it, a cannonball-like blur slammed into his head. A fist smashed into his face, sending several teeth flying as he staggered backward, barely staying on his feet this time.
"You bastard!"
Marshall D. Teach roared, punching Kuro's chest with all his might. Yet despite his legendary strength, the blow barely registered against Kuro's Mythical Zoan Azure Dragon Devil Fruit-enhanced physique—a monster-class physicality. Even Marshall D. Teach, a monster himself, couldn't match Kuro's tier.
Kuro's face twisted with gruesome satisfaction as he deflected the punch, then countered with a blow to Marshall D. Teach's abdomen. The fist sank deep, doubling him over. But the Blackbeard Pirate straightened quickly, swinging a counterpunch that Kuro dodged. A follow-up kick sent Marshall D. Teach sprawling. As he hit the ground, Kuro pounced, crouching to continue the onslaught.
They fought like ordinary men in a street brawl—except one was the aggressor, the other the battered.
Both had exhausted their strength. Marshall D. Teach had pushed himself to the brink, his movements sluggish as a farmer's. Kuro, too, had burned through his Wu Sheng Kong Sha, condensing it into a light sphere to counter Marshall D. Teach's ultimate move. Now, rage consumed him—logic abandoned.
"If I don't kill you, Old Man will never rest!"
"It hurts!!" Marshall D. Teach howled, his battered body finally rebelling. Somehow gathering strength during the beating, he unleashed a shockwave-punch that struck Kuro's cheek mid-swing, staggering him sideways.
Then—
Bang!!
Kuro's fist smashed into Marshall D. Teach's face again, his fury intensifying. No abilities, no techniques—just raw, relentless punches. Each blow turned the battlefield into a cratered wasteland, shockwaves rippling outward.
Bang! Bang!! Bang!!!
The sickening sound of fists meeting flesh echoed across the plaza. Combat around them halted as all eyes fixated on Kuro—beast-like in his primal slaughter.
The more bestial he became, the more terrifying he seemed.
That ancient tyranny buried deep in human hearts—long suppressed—now erupted from Kuro in full view.
Strength or ability mattered not. Even now, Kuro's presence alone chilled the blood.
"Luffy?!"
As Kuro raged, a cry erupted from Luffy's side. Chopper stared in shock as Luffy's near-fatal wound liquefied, the flesh writhing to mend itself.
"What's happening?!" Sanji exclaimed.
"Luffy's melting!!" Usopp panicked.
"Melting", Robin murmured, grave. Never had she heard of a rubber Devil Fruit liquefying.
Yet Luffy's aura pulsed rhythmically—revival imminent. A beacon of hope.
Ben Beckman fired at Yi Xiao, who deflected with his blade. A horizontal gravity slash followed, barely dodged.
"Speed up!" Beckman bellowed. "Now's our chance! Rescue Red-Haired Shanks—we complete our mission!"
Their goals differed from Marshall D. Teach's. While Blackbeard sought to defeat Kuro, they aimed to save the condemned man.
The Navy charged, determined to halt the pirates.
"Hunting Rhythm!!"
Klah, fully transformed into a werewolf, howled. Darkness erupted around him, engulfing nearby pirates. He'd grown desperate.
"Stop! Stop fighting!!"
Marshall D. Teach, bloodied and broken, finally screamed. "You can't kill Old Man like this! It hurts!!"
True enough. Kuro's punches, no matter how powerful, inflicted only pain—no lasting damage. Marshall D. Teach's endurance was peerless.
Bang!!
Yet as he spoke, another fist struck, driving his face into the ground. The crater deepened, half his head buried. His chest still heaved, but his aura dimmed with each blow.
"Can't kill me?" Kuro straightened, teeth bared. "No one's immortal—neither you nor I! But today—"
A silk ribbon extruded from his fist, encasing his hand. Flames, thunder, and wind blades coalesced around it.
"It's the Old Man!!!"
Boom!!!
The Wu Sheng Kong Sha-enhanced fist aimed for Marshall D. Teach's head, flames and thunder scattering like sparks. Blood sprayed in thick arcs.
"Luffy!!"
Amidst the chaos, a figure erupted from Luffy's surrounded position, racing toward Shanks. The Straw Hats cried out.
Kuro vanished, leaving afterimages. He reappeared midair on the execution platform.
Bang!
Midair collision—Luffy's forehead met Kuro's. The Straw Hat grinned, teeth bared, smoke rising from his body.
